Cons: my naighbour room was smoking wheat and I complained several times to the receptionist about the bad smell of wheat burning but they kept denying smelling The smell was obvious but they could not do any thing about my naighbour hence they denied smelling I woke up from the smell several times

Pros: This is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Florence. It is steps away from the Duomo, but tucked away so that it is quiet and seems to be off the beaten path...perfect location! The hotel is beautiful and the staff is attentive. The lobby is very comfortable, lots of attention to detail. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is lovely, with many options.....something for everyone. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will return. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

It is a beautiful hotel, with an elegant old world atmosphere located right off the Piazza della Signoria, steps from the Uffizzi Gallery with many small excellent restaurants near by. The entire staff of the hotel were pleasant, courteous and extremely helpful. What could possibly be better? I was there in early January - the weather and the quality of the light were magical.

Pros: It was an exceptional stay, the hotel is located very close to the historical center, but also to the elegant showcases of the biggest fashion brands. Excellent location with very friendly staff, quite varied breakfast for all tastes, the reception of the hotel was in the spirit of Christmas with an amazing fireplace, absolutely fabulous. I spent New Year's Eve at the hotel restaurant and the dinner was absolutely delicious. Thank you very much to the entire staff of the hotel for the wonderful feeling we had throughout our stay there.

Location: cannot be better Atmosphere hotel: very cosy Hotel room: TOP nicely and newly decorated, very comfortable beds. Room and bathroom impeccably clean. Although our room was on the street side no noise at all. Maybe because of the extra wooden shutters which they close during the turn-down. And last but not least: the staff! We have never stayed in a hotel with such a kind, nice and helpful group of people at the door and behind the reception desk. Federico, Allesandro, Sara, Gabriel, Lucretia and all others thanks for making our stay so special!!

If you are hot or uncomfortable you have to open a window which just lets the noise in. Street cleaners, and trash service comes by at 5am which is nuts! Breakfast was blah...Single room was a closet and horrible shower. Im in shape and didn't fit in the shower.

Cons: The hotel has a problem with noise, especially on the Via del Pescioni side. We were on the second floor, and disturbed during the night by revelers in the street, but especially by the very loud noises of service vehicles starting about 6 am. The hotel must be aware of this, because they provided ear plugs (!) by the bedside. (We should have had the wits to read this ominous sign.) They moved us to a room on the other side for our second night. Avoid rooms overlooking the street! Also, there is no coffee machine in the rooms.

Pros: I am layzy to write a long review... But I strongly recommend to stay at this hotel. I did not have any single unsatisfactory point. Everything was just great at least to me. Well, maybe one thing. At breakfast, I was not asked if I wanted to have omelet or scrambled egg. I did not care since I was not wishing to have any of them, but if a potential guest think of staying at this hotel, one may need to ask if he/she wants omelet/scrambled egg. Anyway this is minor point I think. My rate is 10/10. Thanks the staffs and hotel for giving me good impression and wish to revisit Firenze.

Pros: Loved everything about the hotel! We fell in love the moment we stepped into this hotel. The design of this hotel is amazing and the hospitality as well. We have been staying in NH Collection Hotel through out our stay in Italy and NH collection Porta Rossa is the best NH Collection for me. They gave us family room with this amazing fresco ceiling. The decoration of this hotel is very rustic and every corner of this hotel is picturesque!

Pros: We stayed in three hotels during our trip to Italy, and this was our favorite. Very centrally located, a short walk to all the museums, etc. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and sincerely friendly. The room was gorgeous, the breakfast the best we've experienced in a long time. We'd definitely stay here again if we returned to Florence.

Cons: Our only complaint is Florence is a noisy city at night and that requieres windows that are soundproof. If they change this, its a 5 star for us.

Cons: pets!! there are no separate rooms for guests with pets. Means that pets probably slept in the bed i slept in, which is unacceptable to me! Separate rooms must be allocated for guests with pets. Pardon... pets can mass up (e.g. poop) anywhere around the room or some guests might dry their pets with bath towels (which are by the way are excellent in the hotel, new and soft).

Pros: This hotel is truly in the heart of all the main sites in Florence. Charming area with many excellent restaurants right there. It is just big enough to provide good services. My husband enjoyed the gym, they offered to get a massage for him within a half hour when he pulled a muscle and even sent someone to the pharmacy for a hot water bottle for him. The breakfast buffet has everything imaginable, it’s super modern and clean . Highly recommend !

Pros: The breakfast is excellent, with a very large dining area and lots of selections. The location is also very good, with easy access to the Duomo.
Cons: The rooms are tiny by any standard, with so little room between the beds and the walls that you can barely walk beside them. There is no room for a bidet in the minuscule bathroom, and the shower is so small that I had to open the door to be able to wash myself (and I'm not a large person). Rather than being an elegant hotel, it is a strange mix of some contemporary elements atop an old hotel that is in disrepair. The service is also rude and unhelpful. I couldn't wait to leave and will never stay there again.

Cons: I’m not sure if it’s the hotel or Florence at this time in the Center but we constantly smelled a foul smell of sewers in the bath room, the lift and stairs and in the streets around the hotel. Timing of stay at this hotel was totally wrong as New Year festivities last to about 3am then street cleaning starts (great for walking next day but not good if you are trying to sleep!). The breakfast was very basic. Clean space and food but we stopped going as options are limited. I’d also recommend reserving last moment with prepaid as it was a third or what we paid reserving a few weeks earlier. Value for this stay was 1 out of 10!

Pros: Went on a romantic getaway with my fiance and this place was exactly what we were looking for. The location is outstanding, price amazing considering what we got. Staff was so, so accommodating. Loved the hotel bar, the bartender was amazing. They have happy hour every night too, and it was great fun.

Our room had a window with a view for people watching, the maid kept our room very clean, every evening when we arrived back from a long day our beds would be turned down waiting for us. The location of the hotel was perfect every thing in walking distance. Doormen and bell hops very friendly and courtesy. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and accommodate us with a bigger room when we revealed to him that our room was too small for 3 girls. We were hoping to see him again next day to thank him but we never saw him again. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious! Lots of food even at 945! i love the historical story of the hotel and old pictures of the hotel in the past. The antique furniture, history, and decor can only be appreciated by historical buffs. A historical beauty!

Cons: Some of the front desk staff were snooty and not very welcoming. The first gentleman we met was friendly we saw him only once out of the six days we were there. When I did ask questions front desk staff very short and make you feel like you are troubling them. The first room #145 was way to small for a mom and two teenage girls. I had adapters for my phone and the only one it would fit in was the bathroom. The Internet is very weak (which I knew coming in seems to be # 1 complaint). When you first walk thru revolving doors there is a woman sitting at a table not sure if she is with hotel however she is not very welcoming she is first person you see and she does not smile or say hello she does not make eye contact she is setting the tone and it is not good, smile say Bon Journo!

The staff has always been terrific.

Cons: I did not like the noise this time. I have stayed at this hotel before, but on upper floors. This time I was on the second floor and the street noise of the vendors setting up at 5 am, and people stumbling and singing back from the bars late into the night was more than I'd experienced previously. The two things that were upsetting this time, were 1) a fellow patron across the hall woke me up at 2 am on my first night there as he spoke loudly into his cell phone for 20 solid minutes, then again at 2:30 another call and again at 3 am a third. he apparently didn't want to bother the woman who was staying with him, who complained loudly, so he stepped into the hallway to take his calls right in front of my door, and proceeded to literally yell into his phone like there was a bad NASA connection to Mars. The second thing that was pretty bad this time was it seemed that the cleaning staff arrived at 5- 5:30 am every morning and proceeded to walk around directly above, sorting out their carts for the day. We really like this hotel, but if we have to endure this kind of noise, we will find another favorite place.

Cons: The hotel and kayak booking experience was I'm my mind fraudulent. On booking, I noticed they booked the wrong month from my request. Many phone calls to both booking agent and hotel within hours of the booking and no one was willing to do anything to fix the error. But the certainly kept my money. Horrible experience. Won't use kayak again and wouldn't recommend hotel because they were totally unwilling to fix the reservation even though it was still months away.
