great location, quiet, clean, staff excellent, breakfast very good
coffee at breakfast
Excellent location,nice hotel
The locations is great because it is located within walking distance of all the major sites, the train station, many restaurants and the market.
They closed the rooftop restaurant/bar area for a paid event, shutting out and inconvenienced their regular hotel guests.
The beds were extremely hard.
Very nice hotel . Old but when you walk in a room looks totally different . White tiles in bathrooms and all very clean and good quality with and charm . Beds a little hard but dig. Great quite rooms looking over inside gurden. Restaurant overlooking all Florance at breakfast and also for dinner with many outside tables . Stuff very friendly and helpful , concierge knows their stuff , ask for their suggesting if you need to travel around.
The rooftop garden restaraunt panoramic view is breathe taking! the food was delicious pricey but well worth every bite. The service was very classy, polite, attentive and friendly the staff made me and my two daughters feel very special. The waiter brought my daughter a shawl when he saw that she was cold and offered us one as well. Our room had a window with a view for people watching, the maid kept our room very clean, every evening when we arrived back from a long day our beds would be turned down waiting for us. The location of the hotel was perfect every thing in walking distance. Doormen and bell hops very friendly and courtesy. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and accommodate us with a bigger room when we revealed to him that our room was too small for 3 girls. We were hoping to see him again next day to thank him but we never saw him again. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious! Lots of food even at 945! i love the historical story of the hotel and old pictures of the hotel in the past. The antique furniture, history, and decor can only be appreciated by historical buffs. A historical beauty!
Some of the front desk staff were snooty and not very welcoming. The first gentleman we met was friendly we saw him only once out of the six days we were there. When I did ask questions front desk staff very short and make you feel like you are troubling them. The first room #145 was way to small for a mom and two teenage girls. I had adapters for my phone and the only one it would fit in was the bathroom. The Internet is very weak (which I knew coming in seems to be # 1 complaint). When you first walk thru revolving doors there is a woman sitting at a table not sure if she is with hotel however she is not very welcoming she is first person you see and she does not smile or say hello she does not make eye contact she is setting the tone and it is not good, smile say Bon Journo!
Excellent location - Nice hotel!
The location cannot be beat. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was awesome. And the staff were friendly.
The only drawback was that the walls are too thin and you can hear a lot of what goes on in the room next door.
excellent hotel w/ excellent location and professi
It is close to railroad station and downtown. Staff are proffessional and rooms are clean. We used two rooms. Very nice hotel.
We liked staying in a well maintained older hotel. Rich dark wood throughout, stained glass windows, and a view of Florence from the rooftop terrace that is unbeatable. Staff was helpful.
We had a water leak in the bathroom that we couldn't pinpoint, but the smell wasn't reassuring.
The Grand Hotel Baglioni is located right in the historical centre of Florence, in Piazza dellUnit Italiana, just steps from the citys main monuments and museums, including the Duomo, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Its special location allows easy access to the Conference Centre and the Fortezza da Basso Exhibition Centre, the city centres quaint winding backstreets, and Florences most famous works of art, as well as Via de Tornabuoni, the main shopping street.
