We were unable to rent a vehicle. They called last minute and canceled our reservation.

The car was filthy. The driver-side window didn't work; it kept going down and would not let you close it without trying to raise it multiple times. The car wasn't ready for pickup. We had to wait 6 hours before we could get a filthy car with less than a quarter of a tank.

Great customer experience. This company stands out from the rest.

i booked a van with enterprise through Kayak on my family vacation. when i get there, not only did they not have the 15 passenger van i booked. they had nothing so my family and i were running silly trying to find something else. HORRIBLE.

I showed up and they did not have the vehicle that was reserved, they said that they had left a voicemail the day prior, but I did not receive a call or a voicemail. The staff had no other solutions or recommendations for other companies to get cars from and were very rude.

Staff was friendly and honest.

They lost my reservation through Kayak and ended charging me twice the rate.

Car had a lot of miles on it and was a very manual (although it did connect easily to my cellphone and had rear camera) no fob but alas I remembered how to put a key in a keyhole and quickly adapted-- but it was in excellent working condition, clean and fuel efficient.

My rental was for a Hyundai Santa Fe or similar. Upon arriving I was told the only rental they had available for my booking was a FWD suv (not similar to my booking) and if I wanted awd I needed to upgrade my rental. After talking with the manager for almost two hours they would not cover the cost difference which was the correct option. Being there with my wife and kids after that long a period our children had become very restless and left me little choice but to spend an additional $475 for the upgrade not doubling the original expense for the rental. The customer service was appalling and this experience comes across as bait and switch tactics.

Megan helped us at the rental location and she was very helpful. We also interacted with Ricardo. He was also very helpful. I will definitely Rent from Fox again.

Was hesitant to rent because of some of the reviews but I had the best experience (much, much better than Hertz and Budget). Pickup and drop off were quick and staff were friendly and great.

Didn’t have suv I ordered, they blamed it on third party advertising (kayak) and up sold me to get into similar vehicle.

We rented a minivan Because we had 7 people. When we arrived they said “sorry we are out of minivans,” and they gave us a small suv. My daughters had to sit on each other’s laps and could not fit in a seatbelt. They did not offer anything to us.

The car was filthy! We picked it up in the dark. I could barely see out the windows to drive. Had to stop at a gas station to clean the window.....ON THE INSIDE they were so dirty!

Zach was kind, helpful and very professional. He got me the car I wanted! I really enjoyed his customer service.

Lots of “gotcha” fees. Last-minute tack-ons of insurance, mileage limit, etc, which were not visible in online booking. Be prepared to pay more than you expect!

Everything perfect

I upgraded to a larger vehicle, but when I came out, there was going to be a slight wait to get one. I went ahead and took the size I had originally reserved because I was in a hurry (plane had been delayed twice) thinking I would straighten it out when I returned. However, upon return, the office had already lowered the cost to the original amount, so there was no follow up visit I needed. Other businesses could learn some tips from the way I was greeted and treated. I will rent from Alamo again.

spent time inspecting car offered only to see check engine light as I pulled out. Had to wait in line again to get help, then redo the inspection on another car. 2nd car was OK but did not have full tank of gas. Alamo noted the gas level at the kiosk on the way out, and credited me with some time when I returned the car to take care of the delay caused by the engine failure. Still, took me an extra hour or so to get on the road. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, car was clean, but had damages to note. Not an Alamo specific problem, but there needs to be some customer opposition to these inflated prices.

There was a minor problem with the vehicle, but this was noticed by the lot attendant who contacted the manager who called me the next day. Everyone from check in to check out including the bus shuttle driver was friendly and courteous. A great experience

It was a great car. Brand new Ford Edge. MPG was great for a mid-size SUV! Pick up and drop off was excellent.

Car reaked of smoke and in addition after returning it they tried to claim I damaged the vehicle, which I did not. Really poor experience.

Devon at the union station location was absolutely wonderful. Our vacation started to get really stressful and he turned it around; he was so patient and very personable. I will rent from sixt every time i am in Denver! An extra surprise is how lovely the location and building itself are.

Truly exceptional customer service!

Handy location across from Union Station. We took the train from the airport (buy your $10.50 tickets via the Uber app) and saved 60% on the car rental Vs. what they wanted at the terminal! Trains run every 15mins..and it’s a 40min trip by car/train either way..

Total rip off! They conveniently don't have the car reserved; and then the "comparable" one isn't 4-wheel drive and of course they strongly suggest it's needed for our travel. And conveniently the only 4-wheel drives they have are large SUV's or an expensive BMW SUV which was cheaper than the American SUV's. The rental goes from a $350 to over $1300!! The car isn't clean with an excuse of the road conditions. Also, had to wait over 15 minutes at airport to be picked up...all while watching every other car rental bus drive by more than once! That was our first clue this might be questionable. Should have never used since I hadn't even heard of them either. Shame on me! In all our years of taveling, this is hands down the biggest scam we've encountered! First time using them and will be the last! Kayak....need to do a better job of researching who you allow on your site. I've used Kayak for several years and have been please, but this certainly opened my eyes to not solely trusting who you sponsor. No one should ever expect to pay OVER a $1000 more for a rental when they did the due diligence of reserving one weeks in advance all to be given a line of bull%^^&!

Car was dirty outside and I had to stop to clean off the backup camera lens. I still have not received any receipt stating the total charges.

I thought I was picking up at DIA but had to Uber to a remote location. Same thing on drop off. The car was dirty. Hadn’t been washed in some. The heater fogged up the windshield

AVIS is fraudulent in charging me extra. It was a dirty vehicle with Dents in front and back. Plus they charged me for gas when I had filled it up in less than a mile.

My reservation was confirmed but when I got to the AVIS location no cars were available. Clerk was not useful in finding another location that had a car available.

Pick-up and drop-off were quick and easy. The vehicle was clean and smelled good.

The staff was friendly under difficult circumstances. Many flights were canceled due to weather and we were in the line from 5:15 until 7:40 but the staff was doung the very best they could under the circumstances.

The car itself was fine. That said, some issues need to be addressed. Pickup and drop off we’re both areas that need improvement. Wait times for long lines to pickup could be solved with adding employees. There were literally two people checking customers in with a line going almost out the door. It took an unacceptable amount of time to reach the counter. Even when a third employee arrived, it wasn’t enough, but it helped. If there were more staff it would have allowed the staff to be more helpful while checking customers in and GUIDING them to their vehicle. The staff were polite, they just didn’t have enough time to do their job because of the long line. This led to confusion on how to pick cars up after checking in. Many customers were unsure of how to get their car after checking in and just standing around as they were not informed properly of how to get to and in their vehicles. On the return end it was just as chaotic. No signage for drop off or instructions of how to leave/exit the vehicle. No staff directing the drop-off process and people were literally pulling in and just abandoning their cars, and dragging their luggage to the bus shuttle station to head towards the terminal. Signs that say, ‘park and leave car here with key on the dashboard’ would be immensely helpful. Also, spacing some garbage cans around car drop-off spots would also be a cheap and easy way to help customers leave their vehicles in good shape for the staff to turn the cars around for use again. Any garbage cans were a very long walk from the area where people were leaving vehicles. Again, no staff were directing you how to drop off and return the car. The staff you could locate and interact with were helpful and polite. Providing more staff would solve almost every issue (signage & garbage cans are also cheap fixes). There is no way that Budget is unaware of these issues and needs “feedback” to gain awareness of them. The car met expectations but getting and dropping it off (which is really the rental experience) did not.

Many more fees were added to the rental adter booking with kayak. Kayak is a tourist trap.

I unfortunately have nothing I liked about renting from Budget. It started with a checkout line that was over one hour long. The car advertised was not even close to “or similar” size car. This forced me to have to pay to upgrade to larger size. Then there was another 30 min wait to have the car ready. The car cleanliness was poor as the windshield was so streaky it obstructed visual field. Very disappointed and will never rent with Budget again.

Only positive was the shuttle ride to the rental location. Easy to find and on time. At the rental location, customers waited 90 minutes in line to pick up their vehicle. I wasn’t given the vehicle type I reserved, instead given a vehicle with terrible gas mileage. Was just over 30 minutes late returning the vehicle due to heavier-than-usual traffic on the highway and was charged an extra day for the rental. Apparently Budget has no problem making their customers wait enormous amounts of time and then charging their customers enormous amounts of money for making them wait a few extra minutes. Other rental companies don’t do this. Spend the extra money and rent from Enterprise or Hertz instead.

The car was not cleaned very thoroughly or checked either and the wipers didn’t work. There was a decent storm for me to drive through with broken wipers. I usually have good experiences with budget so I’m a little surprised

There was only one person at the counter, she was very nice but there should have been more help. I waited in line for over an hour at 2 AM and people ahead of me were getting cars that broke down, some wouldn’t start, some cars weren’t even there. I ended up being placed in a sports car when I had booked an SUV because that’s all they had. It did not go well in the snow. It was a mess.

Payless was closed and I had to be redirected to Avis. The guy at the counter tried hard to upsell me and wasn't very friendly. The overall cost was $150 than my original quote. I won't use Payless again.

Terrible customer service. Payless close / I'm arriving at 8pm/and spend 2 hours on line at Avis. Add 300% surcharge on my bill. Original rent price is 99$ and I'm finishing with a bill for 370$ for less then 40 hours rent and less then 110ml drive. 0 srar.

Roadside assistance did not follow thru after telling me they would deliver a replacement vehicle. Luckily I got to the end of my original rental without further issues

Great customer service. No real waiting for shuttles. Easy drop off. Most all, honored Kayaks quoted price.

Drop off was easy, and they had plenty shuttles ready to take me to the airport. Pick-up was very slow as they only had 1 person working and things moved very slowly. Eventually they got more people to help, but I was already at the front of the line by that time. Took almost an hour from the time I got there until I got a car.

First time to rent from Payless. Didn’t know it’s a self checkout when I dropped off the car but after asking I filled out the paperwork given when I picked up the car and was done. I’ll rent from them again as the prices are good.

Nobody seemed interested in serving clients standing in line. Pickup was very slow. 4 people available behind counter but served one at a time.

Good vehicle but the company was only willing to rent me a mustang for a 10 day trip when snow was expected in Denver, CO. It would have been nice if they were willing to rent an appropriate vehicle w/o my pushing it. I explained I had a torn acl and brace still on so preferred to have a vehicle that i would feel more comfortable driving in CO conditions. They wouldn't budge. I ended paying $200 extra to get a vehicle that was going to be safe. W/ that said, it was my fault for trying to get a deal and selecting "manager's choice" through kayak.com. That literally means they will try to dump whatever car they have onto their customers. You get what you pay for and I don't recommend going through Dollar as a company they don't seem to care for their customers. Lesson learned :)

Renting me a car and when I got to the facility , they stated they were out of cars.

There customer service was the worst they kick us out because they close at 1am and our plane was late, we had to go to Bufget to get a car. Never again will I use kayak

At the pickup the sales reps were more interested in watching Denver Broncos foootball on their phone and upselling me on things I didn't need than answering the question I asked about what cars in the class I reserved were available or the price difference between the car they wanted me to take vs. The car I had reserved. Their attitude was not rude but genuinely indifferent, since they were distracted with the football game.

Tried to sneak in extra insurance and harass about upgrading to a larger vehicle.

Even though I had a reservation, they refused to give me a car when I showed up. I ended up having to leave and go find a different rental since they would not honor my reservation.

I wish rental car companies would not encourage their employees to engage tired travellers with relentless upselling based on fear mongering. Usually it is for unnecessary insurance. In CO, it is the Chain Law, which requires chains in a heavy snowstorm - regardless of the car - and chains are not permitted by the rental company. Their solutuon is to push for a vastly more expensive SUV that has AWD but still would nkt satisfy the Chain Law. Why not just put snow tires on rental cars for people who are primarily coming ro CO to ski? There is always a line at the rental counter and the upselling may add profit for the rental company, but it makes a simple check in and pick up experience much longer and more frustrating for all customers. It is also disingenous and misleading. People on vacation want to relax and be on their way, not argue with rental employees who have clearly been trained to extend rather than shorten the rental process.

There weren’t any cars available but Thrifty still charged my credit card for insurance. Will not recommend or try snd rent from again.

No car was available, I was told that Hertz customers would get priority because they had priority over Thrifty. I could not get a car and had to turn around and come home. I had to call to get my money back for the rental but airfare, hotel and taxi to the tune of $500 is out of pocket and nobody wants to accept responsibility! This appears to be common occurance based on the input from Thrifty managers.

I you have car damage Thrifty will charge you daily rental for the days the car is in the shop which could be over a week. I have never seen this before and avoid Thrifty in the future for this reason.

Last minute (1130pm on Christmas night) rental through Hotwire/KAYAK. It worked, though Thrifty's office was closed. Must have gotten the last rental car left in Denver after SWA debacle. Reserved a midsize, but the only vehicle they had was a huge 4WD SUV that they gave us for the same price. Extremely comfortable and kept us on the icy roads past lots of Semis in the ditch. Drove straight through from DEN to BNA. Thanks Thrifty and Hotwire/KAYAK! mrc

The car was not available for pickup, I could not pick upnthe vehicle despite paying the fee upfront. The site continue to book the nonexistent car.

Pickup staff driver at baggage was prompt and friendly. Moved our suitcases onto shuttle for us. I tipped him. check-in staff was a polite cheerful guy who was able to upgrade us to a roomier car, which performed great in all weather. Drop off was a little awkward as the fellow did not have the remote electronic device outdoor. Indoor staff was delayed a little due to that. I had returned the car full of gas. Shuttle left almost immediately to the terminal. Staff helped offload bags.

Hertz reservation was messed up, and the local staff could not update it. International help support was barely competent. “Upgrade” to the type of car I had reserved was incredibly expensive. Finally, the car had broken windshield wipers, a 60% full gas tank, a tire pressure warning and summer tires despite being rented in Denver. In all of this, their local and international staff was spectacularly unhelpful. Given the above, I expect Hertz will try to charge me an extra several hundred dollars for some imagined issue with the car - they have not yet sent a receipt.

Car was scheduled for pickup at noon; however when we arrived 5 minutes late the attendant yelled through the glass door that they were closed (close noon on Saturday) and to come back Monday. When we came back Monday at 9 they had no cars. A total debacle

This car rental is a grift, don't rent from here.

I was provided a Hertz car that should never been allowed on the road. The attendant informed me that the tire sensor was not working properly, but the tire was fine. After observing the tire after 2 days it appeared low. I had it tested and the senor was working correctly. I was given a car with a tire at 25 pounds and dropping. After adding air twice, I was lucky enough to get it to another Hertz location and they were able to substitute a new car for me.

Received a voicemail when I landed in Denver that they no longer had a car for me. I was already on a time crunch and had to scramble to get another car at the last minute.

The Denver location (Welton) called the day of my reservation and said they didn’t have a car for me. Then told me “tomorrow isn’t looking good either.” Why wouldn’t I go to the top of the list the next day, if they didn’t have a car for me on the day I reserved? What stupid game are they playing. I have never experienced this at any rental car company. Thankfully, the Boulder location honored my reservation the next day. I had to get there, of course, and spend money on a hotel. Absolute fail for the Denver downtown location. Deplorable

I searched for rental cars at the Denver airport but it gave me a rental location far from the airport. I ended up having to rent from the airport location at double the cost. Very unsatisfied.

Worst experience ever. They had no cards even after prepaying and having reservations weeks in advance. And they didn't even try to help me finding a vehicle all they said was call customer service and ask for a refund

Called 30 minutes before the reservation to let me know they didn’t have a car available. Didn’t pickup their phones for the next 3 hours. Ended up cancelling reservation
