Cons: The vehicle was not ready for pickup at the agreed time, had to wait for over an hour, gave us an upgrade that we didn't want then had to return the vehicle the next day because the check engine light came on. Never had this problem and I've been renting vehicles for over 10 years while traveling with the military.

Could be better
Pros: The people at the counter were nice, once they came out of the back room. The car served it's purpose for the weekend nothing fancy like Bluetooth which I had gotten use too as standard at other companies.
Cons: Car was dirty, stains on the seat, the deposit that supposedly had to go on every card no matter what is ridiculous and they should let people know upfront when booking wh as the insurance documents will be required so people can have them available when they show up.

Did not have the Van I reserved.
Pros: Nothing, stranded my group and I for hours.
Cons: Van was not available. No alternative to myself to accommodate my group. The worst experience that I have ever had with a rental car company. Forced to find another van Wednesday that was substantially higher that the price I was Guaranteed (almost 200 dollars more. Was told they were an independent dealership and corporate made that resveration and I would have to talk to them. BEWARE if yo book online with this company.

Watch out for last minutes fees!!!
Pros: Got a vehicle upgrade although I would have preferred what I asked for at the price negotiated.
Cons: Original estimate was $84 for 4 days. Expected an extra $25/day as the driver is under 25 years old. Walked out with a bill for $381 for 4 days. Extra fees and required insurance because the rental was paid for with am debit card. That was outrageous in my opinion.
Cons: Not being able to change drop location without additional fees

Pros: Was upgraded from a caravan to town & country. Great extras with comfy drive. Easy to book & easy to return.
Cons: Did not have a minivan that was booked. Did offer a SUV at a discount, but too small for my propose. One was due to be returned,so had to wait 30 minutes for it.

Charged wrong card
Cons: Lady at the desk was rude. Car was way too small. They charged the wrong card. Which is funny because they had me sign for everything. But then they charged my husbands card after they assured me it would go on the correct card. Not happy.

Cons: I was charged double then what your price was. I knew it would be more because I picked up the insurance. But double is ridiculous and I will never use budget again. The customer service man was polite and friendly but could do nothing because he worked for Avis. Not pleased at all for what I spent for truly only 2 days.

Pros: liked the kia soul and liked the price
Cons: no one at Logan airport to receive car and give me a receipt
Pros: Car was like-new and very clean. Drove and handled very well.
Cons: The car's climate control was a bit frustrating (occasionally would switch back to outside air, couldn't figure out why). Also didn't have cruise control, which was uncomfortable for a 10-hour drive.

Cons: They didn't have the vehicle I reserved, which was fine. But, they gave me a small SUV. The vehicle wasn't clean and drive horribly. The transmission kept slipping, the handling was awful, and as an aside, the radio would only pick up a station or 2 even in a metropolitan area.

Worst car rental company
Cons: I reserved a car over a week before the scheduled pick up and I was informed on the day of my reservation that Hertz had no rental cars available. I was not provided with a courtesy phone call to advise me that there was no car available and did not receive an apology for their error. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, a Hertz representative, Laurenae, advised me that there were no rental cars in my area and that there was nothing she could do. She then went on to say, "What do you want me to do, I don't control the weather." I was appalled by the lack of remorse and the poor customer service. I understand that things happen and mistakes are made; however, the terrible customer service is what set me over and caused the most frustration. I will never use this company or recommend using them to anyone again. Worst experience ever!

Notified of no car available 30 minutes before time of reservation
Pros: 1. I appreciate that I was able to locate a car at another Hertz location after one location stood me up at the last minute.
2. I also like that I could go to another Hertz location to add an additional driver who lived in a city different from where I live. (Other counters, i.e Budget, were not able to accommodate additional drivers who could not be present at the time of car pick-up.)
Cons: Did not like that I received a call from the Raeford Road store at 9:30 a.m. to notify me that there was no car available for me for my 10:00 a.m. reservation (that I had made about a month in advance.) The person who called did not offer any solutions. My travel was very necessary.
While I was able to get a car from another Hertz location at the last minute, I had no choice of cars because it was so last minute. Overall however, I feel that this second counter did their best to accommodate me.

Cons: I am not satisfied with the services of Hertz. The representative did not know things which he suppose to be and overcharged me. I was one hour late and they charged me for the whole day. Secondly , I filled the gas tank and they extra charge of 22$ for nothing. I will not go to them again and will not recommend anyone else for such service.
Cons: When I picked up the vehicle there was a chip in the windshield and I had the employee at in the lot annotate that it was there, but when I dropped the vehicle off they tried to charge me for it. It took a long time to talk to the manager and a long time for her to clear it up. Also, I needed to extend my rental car and the guy on the phone told me that it would cost me almost 2 hundred dollars to do. The only choice I had was to return the car and rent another one for $118 but the lady at Alamo told me that I could have done it for $27. She said that it was too late to do it for $27 because she had already closed out the rental so I was stuck paying the $118. Bullshit!

Cons: Sneaky upgrade tactics. They informed me the only compact available was a 500c but I could upgrade for 10 dollars a day. I declined and when I got the car it was a 4 door versa. (No fiats in sight anywhere).

Drop Off Fees
Pros: Information on drop off fees given by customer service representative
Cons: Needed to depart RDU instead of FAY. Would have cost over $325.00 to take car one hour to RDU instead of one hour to FAY. Total car rental only $40.00. Seems somewhat ridiculous. Had to bother someone for a ride taking over two hours to drop off car in FAY and then drive to RDU.
Cons: Car tires were wabbling/shaking all the way

Pros: So easy to rent a car with Avis, I've always used Enterprise. I will now use Avis for all my car rentals.
Pros: Kelley was a wonderful associate, who took time to actually have a conversation and explain my options to me. I was upgraded to a bigger vehicle (all the compact were gone) but Kelley gave me a few to choose from.
Car was clean, Great value for the money!

Tried to pull a fast one
Pros: Reserved car was ready for pickup and there was no line.
Cons: He attempted to convince me I had to pay a hidden $95 drop fee. He said I didn't select another location when I reserved the car. I showed him my confirmation email that shows me dropping at another location but he didn't care. I canceled the reservation.

Pros: We were a bit delayed, called ahead and they pushed our reservation. When we arrived they were waiting for a vehicle in our class to show up. We were traveling for our honeymoon. The rep that helped us was very friendly and helpful. As soon as a car showed up she checked it in and went to detail it herself so that we could get on the road. We even got upgraded for free.
