Cape Town hotels near V&A Waterfront

Pros: The fact that we were upgraded to a suite. The friendliness, the personal attention and absolute luxury - we felt very special. A special place for our anniversary (our 2nd time and many to come). Meal at Reuben's fantastic.

Cons: The attitude of "manager" (in charge of seating) at breakfast.

Pros: What is there not to like?

Pros: Happy,self assuared staff in all departments. Golf carts to move around hotel. Location of hotel. All good.

Cons: Could do with better design barth.

Cons: the fact that sex workers are alowed on the premises.

Cons: the hotel need renovation. The staff does not respect the guest. They made me wait at reception to go verify if I stole in the room.

Pros: The hotel was fabulous. The location and facilities were outstanding. The breakfast was wonderful. Most of all the staff was phenomenal. They were consistently courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely phenomenal.

Pros: The service, the food, the gym and the pool were all very nice. The rooms were comfortable with great views.

Cons: We had a "bad" luck, since our room shared a wall with a famous Jazz club Green Dolphin. We enjoyed the fine music from 8-11 in the night. (there are maybe 3 rooms in the whole hotel affected). One night we also went there. Nice club.

Pros: The location of this hotel is incredible, right in the centre of the bustling Cape Town waterfront....you walk out of the front door and you are where you need to be. Very upmarket and classy!

Pros: The location is a right between downtown and the V&A Waterfront. Everything is walkable plus you have great cab service as well as the hop-on hop-off bus right out in front of the hotel. Since this hotel is adjacent to the convention center, getting to anything you want for business or please is easy to do. The breakfast spread in the mornings was excellent and the rooms were nicely appointed wth hotel being very clean.

Cons: Since the hotel is at the convention center, if there is a large convention in town (that you are not a part of) you may get overwhelmed by conventioneers. There was a large ANC convention in town while we were there. The hotel was able to handle the added quests, so it reallly wasn't a problem but could be an issue for some. Check the Cenvention Center schedule prior to booking. The only other issue I had was the customer service in general. I really thnk this issue is more cultural to South Africa than it is an issue at the Westin. I just didn't feel like the conceirge's were as helpful as they should be getting tickets for me or helping me find a good restaurant. I sat in the bar area of one of the hotels restaurants (1 meter from a restaurant table - didn't realize it) and we asked to order a desert and was told we needed to get up an move 1 meter to the next table. This kind of rigidity does not exist in the USA..,.the customer is always right and we would have been served. That night we decided to get up and move back to our room. At breakfast, there was mixup with the number of people in our room booking (they claimed the reservatin was for one and we had two in the room). Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary but they made us pay for one breakfast each morning (200 Rand)....an inconvenience. I think this would have been handled differently in the US. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location and nice amenities, just don't expect 5 star American style service anywhere in South Africa. (Although I will say the overall service level in South Africa is much higher than anywhere I have been in Europe....espeicallly restaurants)

Pros: Extremely pleasant, capable, and helpful staff ! Well appointed room with great view ! Exceptionally good black-out shades in room that permitted good sleep while adjusting to new time zone ! Very comfortable, Quiet room! Good spa facilities. Good on-sight restaurants. Good buffet breakfast. Excellent wifi, including in the room !! Beautiful design/architecture. Bright and cheerful. I REALLY LIKED THIS HOTEL !!

Cons: Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.

Pros: high quality facility providing full service. Staff is competent, professional and helpful. Room are comfortable and clean. Food is very good. Internet works well

Cons: Sometimes prices on high side for Cape Town where there are plenty of options

Cons: All three times my car parking was a problem...... First they misplace my key and had to wait 20minutes to find it..... then they brought my car out to early standing in the sun for 30minutes after I arrange when I wanted the car. We I wanted to leave after check out, my car was parked in and they could find the owner......so this experience that was suppose to be something nice..... was very frustrated.

Pros: The Spa on the 19th floor is really relaxing and very clean. The breakfast downstairs was of a high standard and obtuse there was awareness re health eg smoothies etc. The room was comfortable, very corporate- the bathroom is cleverly designed and very user friendly.

Pros: We received an upgrade to the Executive Club Floor

Cons: This hotel is not the place to stay for couples or any romance. It is all business and has limited facilities for leisure. No outdoor pool. limited food selection. very sterile place!

Pros: The room was clean & fine. Bathroom was with tile heating & very clean. Although it was written free wi-fi is only at the lobby, there was hotel wide wi-fi, including rooms. Everything was perfect about the hotel. Shuttle service is very useful.

Cons: Just one of the reception staff was rude. Other than that everything was flawless.

Cons: The suites were adequate for couples, but I would certainly not be recommend this hotel for acquaintances traveling together, clear glass to the shower and no wall or door separating the bedroom from the bathroom is not ideal for those wanting privacy. The hotel had a feel of a council housing block. Won't be returning

Cons: dewald needs to brush up on his customer service, if i am the client i need to be treated like i am the only one who exist in that moment, we had an incident at the hotel where the the panic alarm went off and we paniced and rush out, justine ask what was going on and dewald just rushed pasted us....

Pros: Location is perfect for the full Cape Town experience and staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and hotel felt very safe. They also have a sister beach club at Camps Bay which is complimentary and a fantastic added bonus to an already superb hotel and holiday experience

Pros: The rooms are clean, and well supplied with knickknacks if you'd like to spend that kind of money on drinks and snacks.

Cons: I was disappointed that I was given a room with a single queen size bed. I'd ask for a double bed, which I thought would mean two separate beds. When I checked in with my daughter, I was disappointed that the front desk told me I should've asked for twin beds. There was no option on their website for twin beds. There was an option for two adults which I interpreted as double beds, since that was an option.

Cons: In room safe stopped working and even after the supposed fixing it didn't work properly. The internet connection is bit too expensive.

Pros: They upgraded us to a loft and the staff were very accomodating.

Cons: I know it was no the hotels problem, but starting early Sunday morning and crane was busy being anchored at 9 Dorp Street for a generator to be hoisted onto the roof of the building. It was extremely noisy and disturbing. The sound proofing of the room is not very good either, making the main road below very audible and once again disturbing.
