Pros: A very luxurious hotel / villa with an amazing breakfast, one of the best I had so far. It's location is perfect, not too far away from the center and therefore quiet. close to supermarkets, bars, restaurants and cafés and the cape town stadium as well as waterkant, all reachable by feet. the room was very nice with a cosy bed and flooded with natural light.

Pros: Staff really worked at making sure I felt comfortable. Great location. Walk to the stadium or waterfront in under 15 minutes. Safe neighborhood. Lots of food choices. They even provide a place to shower after checking out if your plane leaves late. Great breakfast.

Pros: Beautifully decorated and furnished hotel, with really wonderful, friendly staff. Breakfast was great, a good mixture of buffet and menu options. The menu options were especially tasty. Really liked the lounge and pool/outdoor areas, with bar and tea/coffee facilities. Location was quite central, but we wouldn't recommend walking at night to/from the hotel (in a taxi/Uber would be fine). Rooms and whole hotel were spotlessly clean.

Cons: Our room was really small, so maybe don't go for the cheapest option like we did! It would be okay for one person, but for two of us it was really tight. If we'd been there any longer than 2 nights it would have got uncomfortable.

Pros: From start of the holiday until we left all the staff from the Manager down were first class, we arrived at very short notice because of a very bad experience with our first hotel. We checked in on Christmas day, the staff were first class as had a very short window to complete check in as was attending a Christmas Lunch. The Westin Hotel went out of their way to help and assist throughout our stay, would highly recommend this great Hotel... Well done.

Pros: The location is a right between downtown and the V&A Waterfront. Everything is walkable plus you have great cab service as well as the hop-on hop-off bus right out in front of the hotel. Since this hotel is adjacent to the convention center, getting to anything you want for business or please is easy to do. The breakfast spread in the mornings was excellent and the rooms were nicely appointed wth hotel being very clean.

Cons: Since the hotel is at the convention center, if there is a large convention in town (that you are not a part of) you may get overwhelmed by conventioneers. There was a large ANC convention in town while we were there. The hotel was able to handle the added quests, so it reallly wasn't a problem but could be an issue for some. Check the Cenvention Center schedule prior to booking. The only other issue I had was the customer service in general. I really thnk this issue is more cultural to South Africa than it is an issue at the Westin. I just didn't feel like the conceirge's were as helpful as they should be getting tickets for me or helping me find a good restaurant. I sat in the bar area of one of the hotels restaurants (1 meter from a restaurant table - didn't realize it) and we asked to order a desert and was told we needed to get up an move 1 meter to the next table. This kind of rigidity does not exist in the USA..,.the customer is always right and we would have been served. That night we decided to get up and move back to our room. At breakfast, there was mixup with the number of people in our room booking (they claimed the reservatin was for one and we had two in the room). Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary but they made us pay for one breakfast each morning (200 Rand)....an inconvenience. I think this would have been handled differently in the US. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location and nice amenities, just don't expect 5 star American style service anywhere in South Africa. (Although I will say the overall service level in South Africa is much higher than anywhere I have been in Europe....espeicallly restaurants)

Cons: Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.

Cons: We arrived in the restaurant for breakfast and I couldn’t see any cereal, I asked a staff member ‘do you have cereal?’ They said no sorry, so I started looking further and I found some in the other room, so when arriving for breakfast I think the staff should have explained where everything was.

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect - rooms are spacious and well designed. Overall one of the best hotels I've stayed in in Cape Town and will definitely be back.
Cons: The hotel does not have it's own parking, so if you've hired a car you need to park at the Waterfront Paid Parking, which can become quote costly. Room service takes extremely long, particularly if there is an event at the hotel restaurant. - in my mind an event at the restaurant should not impact the service guests receive.

Pros: Everything was great, the location is perfect, the decor and atmosphere very nice and the staff very kind and helpful.
Cons: The organization of the breakfast is not nice because we need to carry the hot drinks throughout a very narrow corridor full of food and with lots of people moving around.

Cons: Reception disorganised/disinterested. On checking in, we carried all 4 of our bags and travel cot and stroller and no porter to offer assisiatnce. On the third night the front office staff decided that our baby sitter coulod only come to our room after signing ionto a book, that they could not find, and held us up for about 15 minutes while they looked...finally they allowed her to write on a piece of paper without checking the veracity therof. Each night we stayed, a flashing warning light on the ceiling kept going off, " oh don't worry about that, we'll switch it off". Despite asking the front desk NOT to call the room our kids ( 3 and 18 months) were sleeping in, the did so repeatedly on all three nights.
Bar staff inattentive,, room service slow and inefficient, meal for 2 ordered at 11:340 took an hour was cold, (although delicious) and arrived with 1 set of cutlery for 2 meals. ( one does not complain at that jucnture when one is hungry... i just ate.
As a family we have spend between 15 and 20 nights a year in Cape Town, always taking either a two bedroom suite or a hotel with interleading rooms. We have some favourites, and apart from a great location and great room, the service in this hotel is so ambivalent borderline disinterested that we will not return.

Cons: Comment from my niece who had this room. The toilet flush was not working when we checked in. We reported it, but it was still not working at bedtime. We reported it again before breakfast. Finally it was repaired during the morning. When we told reception, the front house manager confirmed it was all documented in the system. My aunt was paying for the accommodation and when we checked out, she asked for some sort of compensation, but the guest relations manager denied our side of the story.

Cons: The flat sheet was too small, made sleeping surprisingly uncomfortable for a 5 star hotel. When the correct size sheet was used, the bed was still not made correctly (photo attached). Candy was taken from the bedside drawer where my partner's medication was kept. Service at breakfast on January 16th was definitely not 5 star. We had to ask for cutlery, cups, napkins... Then the buffet had no bread for toast, guests were waiting for over 5 minutes until some was finally found... I invited my niece and her husband for 3 nights on January 14th and the flush in their toilet was not working. They reported it but it was still not working at bedtime. They reported it again before breakfast but it was only fixed during the morning. Cons: Hello, very bad hotel. Never go there 1/ The hotel pretends it has a swimming pool but it doesn't. The swimming pool showed on the pictures belongs to the restaurant. It is rather a extended bath tube and the hotel clients cannot go there. They rate the hotel 5 stars. But for me it is a basic 4 stars. When asking where we could go for a swim with our 7 years old, they recommended some public swimming pools. I have nothing against public swimming pools, but not when you pay a 5 star price because of the nice pictures of swimming pool showed. 2/ Unhonnest treatment of guests: When we said we might leave earlier, they could not do a refund directly. The first tried to rent the rooms again and told us then to leave. As we did not book anything else of course before being sure that we would have a refund; we had almost to negotiate to stay in our room 3/ They take clothes out of the room in order to wash them without being asked by us. Some stuff did not return. TO AVOID ABSOLUTELY. WRONG INFORMATION ON BOOKING

Cons: The morning I exited the room service took 1 hour, and the breakfast ordered arrived cold, and totally different to the previous morning's very same breakfast ordered. Same menu but the 2nd chef obviously could not be bothered. I had ordered the yoghurt and berry with honeycomb breakfast, only to have delivered (an hour later) just yogurt and muesli in a very small bowl. Also, the couch in our room was a bit saggy, worn and I have a suspicion it had mosquitoes or fleas as a result I constantly itched while sitting on it.

Cons: House keeping were not great, they literally only made the bed and forgot to give us towels one day. Staff servicing breakfast were incredibly slow and had to be reminded a few times.

Pros: The hotel is 5 minutes from the conference site where our conference is held. This is what I like the most as walking in Cape Town is not extremely safe after dark. It is not close to many attractions but it was okay for me. Other than that, services and staffs are reasonable. I did not get a chance to stay at other hotels in Cape Town so I can't make a fair comparison.

Cons: Some obvious missing features -- no iron in the rooms, no soap or moisturiser, and yet premium international prices for a Cape Town location. The internet required daily renewed login which was a little annoying. Twin-share room was rather small, only ~25 cm between the beds. Only one chair in the room. Only total two spare power points. Our water bottle kept disappearing and re-appearing depending on the day.

Cons: We were in room 505. The toilet had a bad odour. Additionally, the A/C wasn't working on the first day but we didnt worry much because it was cold outside. They fixed the A/C on the second day but it again stopped working on the last night of our stay.

Cons: •One of the receptionists (I think his name is Blessing) was absolutely useless. He definitely needs customer service training. •Had to wait 45min when checking in. We first had a room that was nothing like the pictures. It was on the 2nd floor. It’s actually a disgrace that they thought that room was good enough tor a Superior Two-Bedroom Suite with Living Area. We eventually moved to room 720 which was just like the picture. So if you have booked Superior Two-Bedroom Suite with Living Area definitely request to stay in Room 720. •No one knew how to work the air conditioner. Not even reception could help. Maybe include a manual in the apartment to help. •The housekeeping was not consistent. We could tell we had a new housekeeper half way through our stay as towels, toilet paper and coffee and biscuits were fully restocked everyday on the last half of our stay.

Cons: Pathetic service. A 3 star hotel would’ve had better service. We have stayed with Cape Royale previously and loved the service so much that we came back again-only to be disappointed. Previous occasions when we checked in - they had a valet service (not this time) and they would carry your bags in for you (any and every hotel does this except Cape Royale clearly). We had a problem with the balcony doors not closing properly leading to an uncomfortable sleep due to the noise from outside. We informed the staff at the reception. The issue only got sorted out 3 days later( the day before we could leave) but only because we had to remind them. The extractor fan in the bathroom was extremely noisy resulting in an uncomfortable sleep. I don’t know whether this place got downgraded from 5 stars because this is the only reason I can think of for the pathetic service. We loved the hotel but after this last visit we will never go back.

Cons: We booked 3 rooms 3 x couples. All were on a different floor, the problem was there was no view either of the mountains or the sea. And to make matters worse the one rooms airconditioning did not work. Complained but to no avail and we were in Cape Town when it was hot! The airconditioning in the other two rooms worked but the noice that they generate is totally unacceptable! The parking entrance is very narrow! And to top it off when we checked out we had to pay for the parking, surely the hotel is responsible to supply safe parking for cars?

Cons: We had many issues in the beginning. We booked the 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor. The bed in our room was supped to be a king bed which it was not. We booked this especially because we didn't carry out son's cot and he was supposed to sleep with us. Unfortunately they were not willing to replace the bed. The reception didn't even bother to get hold of us again .... OH, and the manager is ALWAYS busy. We also had a broken bin which we complained about, again, no response. Our second access tag was not programmed to go the parking floor. One of the evenings I went to have it recorded, and nope, couldn't do it either. Could only be done during the day. I wonder how they check in people after hours. We just got fed up asking anything from reception. Also to note, there is literally no place in the shower to keep any of your toiletries in them, not even a plastic shelf or metal grid. We experienced serious water pressure issues in the second bathroom where water was literally just trickling from the tap. Did complain, again, no response. We met other people staying at the hotel who were also really upset as they were given the totally wrong room. Don't even think of using the pots and pans provided. It looks terrible. The lifts are a big issue especially when it's busy. You're only allowed to use the 2 lifts on the left as the 2 on the right are specifically for cleaning staff until 5pm.
