Pros: We absolutely loved the hotel - it was 5 star luxury yet with the intimate feel of being at home which made it extra comfortable and special. The views and location were also incredible. The room was spotless clean and smelt amazing every single day. And last but certainly not least, the staff was just the best. Cons: Loved our room but a LOT of very steep steps to get down to our room/back up again. This was fine for us, but if you have any mobility issues make sure to request a room that doesn't involve the steps as it could a problem.

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Cape View. Breakfast in room is very romantic and sun set happy hours are just beautiful and enjoyable! We had a room facing the ocean and with a view of table mountain. It is breathtaking! Staff are so lovely, John, James, Kevin ...I cannot name them all but they are so attentive and helpful! It was our first time in SA and the experience was so great that we would like to go back as soon as we can!

Cons: The sound of the wind through the glass window, i can not sleep I ask them to cancel my reservation and return the money to me, they said it is non refundable and the manager refuse, you must sleep in your room with the wind noise or leave the hotel and we are not going to return your money back !!!!!!!!!!!

Cons: Staff were friendly but very unprofessional Separate shower available post checkout but reception refused use as they didn’t want to clean up afterwards (they’re exact words). We notified reception that we didn’t want breakfast but they continued to ask why and even rang our room at 8am to ask if we were coming. Breakfast average and staff continued to not listen to order requests, as did all other guests. Only permitted to use certain sun-beds, making the visit seem restrictive and too regimented. Hotel also noisy, with little privacy when in our room and being able to hear all outside activity. Not so private balcony areas with hotel staff constantly passing through making it feel less secluded.

Cons: Our room was situated directly behind the bar, which was supposed to close at 9 pm however on one of the nights a group stayed until past 1 am, chatting very loudly. It wasn’t the best nights sleep, and certainly not what you expect for the price you pay. The bartender should have advised the guests that there is a room directly behind and they should probably move after a certain time. We complained in the morning, and to the staff’s credit the bar was definitely shut after 9 the following nights.

We left our passports there and they kindly hrlp d with an emergency run to the airport so they could deliver them to us!

Pros: Beautiful setting, wonderful well appointed room which we were able to check in to early. Breakfast was amazing & we loved that there was an honesty bar. We arrived Christmas morning & the breakfast table was laid out with lovely crackers that had miniatures of gin ( which were amazing )in & we were greeted with a glass of fizz. Would have loved to have stayed longer & will be sure to stay here again.

Cons: Nothing to criticise at all. The main centre of Camps Bay is a nice sea front 15 min walk. If you want to be smack in the middle of Camps Bay choose somewhere else.... but personally the hotel is so good and the walk is nice, stay here and walk in!

Pros: Such a lovely guest house. The room (River Palm) was extremely spacious and luxurious. Great amenities and comfortable bed. The staff were absolutely amazing and attentive and really made our stay that much better! Location: beautiful location with a million dollar view. About a 10min walk along the coast to the centre of Camps Bay. Service: top notch honestly. On three of our days there, they made South African sausage, served wine and cheese (which we sadly didn’t try) and had a cake evening. I found that to be really going above and beyond. Rooms were impeccably clean as was the rest of the communal area. During our time there was supposed to be a planned power outage and a few days and they kept us informed. Fortunately this didn’t happen. We did, however, experience som gale force winds over the weekend. House amenities: everything you need. There’s a communal breakfast area, a big kitchen, an honesty bar, a small outdoor pool and lounge area, and a living room. Really modern and stylish. WiFi wasn’t great but I suspect that was partly due to the really strong winds as my phone data speed was also terrible. Parking is provided and is via an internal garage.

Pros: We stayed 7 nights and found the staff very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful especially Zola who was always available for advice. After checking out the hotel contacted me to advise my sister had left her wallet behind and kindly kept it in the safe until we could return and collect it. I would definitely recommend this hotel, thank you for a lovely stay!

Pros: Very helpful owners. Good location high above the main coast road just a walk down the hill to the food stores, restaurants and beach. No alcohol sold in the two stores. Honesty ‘stocked fridge’ was a bonus. Good choice for breakfast. Beach bag and beach towels provided. Strangely no curio/craft shops in town although some street sellers.

After checking out the hotel contacted me to advise my sister had left her wallet behind and kindly kept it in the safe until we could return and collect it. Pros: Very helpful owners. Good location high above the main coast road just a walk down the hill to the food stores, restaurants and beach. No alcohol sold in the two stores. Honesty ‘stocked fridge’ was a bonus. Good choice for breakfast. Beach bag and beach towels provided. Strangely no curio/craft shops in town although some street sellers.
Cons: Room 7 ‘garden view’ rather small with a tiny back terrace but a good view of the back of Table Mountain and some of the Apostles.

I would have welcomed greater security in the room - patio door did not have a lock -only the gate, and the middle window had no bars. The safe did not function and despite asking for it to be sorted - it was not attended to.

Cons: The only negative I can think of is about the Coral room - the door is essentially in the reception office. You can hear noise from the reception desk. We stayed in the Periwinkle room, which was outstanding with a gorgeous, spacious bathroom.

Cons: My dissatisfaction has nothing to do with service but rather the unfortunate design of the place. The room was incredibly small, especially for the price. Definitely the smallest I’ve ever stayed in. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin, you hear people walking up and down the stairs (we literally had to take our shoes off when we came back late so we don’t disturb anyone). From our room we could hear staff repairing for breakfast, so sleep is impossible after 6am (not very ideal if you were at a NYE party). We came back from dinner one night and wanted to chill only to learn that the common area can’t be used after 10pm, the room was too small to sit in and if we sat in the balcony we ran the risk of disturbing others.

Cons: "Room with view" ??? The description of the room is misleading - the only view from the room was the part of the balcony that we were allowed to use. From the balcony that we may have used, the sea view was blocked by plants to ensure the privacy of the guests in front of us.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Cape View Clifton! Everything about it was perfect - the rooms are beautifully and tastefully styled, the views from the rooms are AMAZING, the breakfast was freshly made to order every day and very tasty, the staff were all wonderfully kind and helpful, and the location is just perfect - quiet and safe but within easy access to all of Cape Town! It was our anniversary and we had a lovely thoughtful treat in our room to help us celebrate. I would without a doubt recommend this hotel to anyone coming to CT and I will definitely stay here again if I ever manage to come back! Thanks Mandy and team for such a wonderful stay and I only wished we could have stayed longer!

Pros: The main advantage in staying at The Fairways was its location - just a few steps onto the main Camps Bay road and across to the promenade and glorious beach. Our room was on the first floor and ‘Sentinel’ looked towards the Mountains and gave a view of the sea/beach. Good secure gated parking is present. The large room was spacious with good power points and other necessities. The only issue to highlight was that we experienced very strong winds for a couple of days and the 3 windows (light frames and single glazing) rattled a lot loudly, which could be elevated by the window frames being updated with UPVC versions. The Fairways was staffed (who were very friendly and helpful) as opposed by resident hosts and unbeknown to us the adjacent apartments The Place on the Bay, shared the pool. Another highlight was the lovely MYNT Cafe next door which offered great breakfast choices, with the supplied voucher each morning.

It's surrounded by beautiful restaurants and the breakfast voucher is enough to have a feast in Mynt Cafe. The city sightseeing bus stops outside the front door too. We will be back!

Cons: Way too expensive for the quality of the room and the facilities. Terrible TV, scarey electrics, room not serviced, bathroom tiles cracked and dirty grout, bird poop on the windows, bathtub but no bathtaps (only overhead shower). If you choose to stay here, you should pay no more than ZAR 2,500 a night to feel that this is anything like value for money even taking into account the location. If you have luggage, there is no lift.
