Pros: This was the perfect place for me to stay. I could not have asked for more in terms of a hotel, all the staff were amazing, the driver was waiting for me at the airport and he was so happy and kind (my flight was delayed). We had the best drive and conversation to the hotel, I believe his name is Arthur (?) he pointed out the sites. We arrived at the hotel and Martinqe and her team were absolutely brilliant, my room was ready. They offered me breakfast and asked me what else I required. They showed me on a map how to get to the waterfront, less than a 10 min walk, super safe. Around the corner from the hotel are lots of places to buy food, even a health / vegan cafe, a Woolworths to buy groceries / water. Everything was literally on my door step. The hotel is tucked up along a side street so there is none of the noise of the main road, I could even see a tiny slice of the mountain from my balcony. Yes, the room, it was HUGE. I loved it and the beds are so so comfortable I did not wish to leave. Everything was clean, the room was designed to a high standard and I had no issues with anything. They organised for me to have a facial / massage in my room which was done by a girl called Sam, now she was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend her. The next day the hotel organised a helicopter tour for me which was mind blowing and even picked me up afterwards from the waterfront as I was so exhausted and not feel great. Martinque organised for food to be made at a nearby restaurant and even offered to go and collect in on my behalf! She really is amazing. I met the owner too a lovely Irish lady. Everyone was super friendly without being too pushy and left all the guest to chill and lounge but were always happy to help when needed. I booked this hotel because I had read so many amazing reviews and I can honestly say that everything everyone has written is absolutely true.

We only stayed for one night and wished we were staying in for the last part of our holiday but unable to cancel the other hotel! Breakfast is gorgeous. Cons: The location is perfect and not far from V & A but we didn’t feel safe to walk back on our own so grabbed a taxi easily which is cheap.

Cons: Our room was not ready when we arrived at 2pm. We waited until 330pm for it to be ready. In the room, there was a full ashtray on the balcony and blood on the wall in the bathroom. The room’s amenities were outdated. We had to move the kettle to get a plug that works, there were no usb ports to charge our phones. A staff member walked into our room without knocking around 330pm. The following morning at 810am, a staff member knocked on our door, wanting to check the mini bar! We ordered our dinner in the room and it arrived without cutlery. It took 2 phone calls and 25 mins for cutlery to arrive. The food was cold by this time. We had a spa appointment. The sauna was not working in the men’s room. The steam room in the ladies’ room smelt like dirty socks and there was a strange white, built up residue on the wall. Overall the spa facilities felt tired and anything but luxurious.

Pros: The Westin is very well situated on the border of Cape Town. It overlooks the harbour and if you are lucky your room could have a waterfront view. It's within walking distance to the V&A Waterfront. We had breakfast in the Club Lounge, the menu was limited, however, the concierge informed us ahead of time. We opted to have breakfast in the Lounge as the view across the Waterfront is breathtaking and made the perfect end to a much needed night away. They also offer cocktails in the lounge at sunset which was spectacular!! The bedroom and bathroom is spacious and met all our needs. The late check-out at 12 is an added bonus.

Cons: Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.

Pros: I loved the tub in my room and house keeping! They made sure to make up my bed everyday! The staff was just amazing! They got to know me and asked about my stay! They would great me in the morning at breakfast and if I went out to tour the town they advised me to be safe! It really felt like home. The front desk service agents were impeccable! I told them I was from the states and they provided me with site seeing activities I could do! The bar and chi-cha lounge inside the hotel was great! Some night when it was cold and rainy my friends and I could still have fun and lounge around! I will definitely be visiting again! The staff, food and accommodations were amazing!

It is not close to many attractions but it was okay for me. Other than that, services and staffs are reasonable. I did not get a chance to stay at other hotels in Cape Town so I can't make a fair comparison.

Pros: The Hotel is situated in a pedestrian area and is very central, just walking distance from Greenmarket Square and numerous restaurants, The Grand Parade, City Hall, The Company’s Garden and other historical sites. Staff at the front office (situated on level 1 of the hotel building) were very helpful and courteous – they even arranged for a breakfast take away for us on check-out day. Note that the full payment for your stay is to be made on check-in. The room was very well organized and we had the benefit of a view of the Table Mountain from our window. All the usual amenities (tea, coffee, safe, etc) were available in the room. The bathroom was very well designed with separation of the toilet from the shower stall. There is a door that doubles as the door to the toilet and between the bathroom and room – a clever design! There is also a ‘blue’ nightlight in the bathroom which you may wish to use if you so prefer. The location is more than ideal as there is a Food Lover’s Market store right opposite the entrance – a must visit. Do be aware of closing times, though (6pm during our recent stay). The air-conditioning was perfect as was the Wifi. There were also international plug sockets (besides local ones) in the room, so plenty of options to charge your devices. The Breakfast spread was good and there is a large seating area although the breakfast area does tend to get busy if you arrive around 8am or so (breakfast is served at 6.30am). Although there is no restaurant in the hotel you will find menu cards of a couple of nearby restaurants in your room and you can order for food which will be delivered to the hotel reception. You can choose to pay by cash or card but be sure to inform the restaurant so that they can send the delivery along with a credit card machine.

Cons: The only problem I faced was that the anti-skid/slip studs on the shower floor were protruding a bit too much for my comfort! but this was only a minor issue even for me and may not necessarily bother other guests at all.

There was literally a *single* outlet in my room.This meant that I couldn't properly charge my phone and laptop because of this limitation. The outlet is at the desk only, so I couldn't charge my phone overnight (as I need the alarm near me to wake up.)

Cons: I tried to check at 1.35 pm and was told sharply that check in is 2 and not a minute earlier. Other delegates were checked in - I was standing with them when they were handed their keys by someone better disposed to service. At reception there was a jug of water for guests - but no glasses - except one that had already been used. There was no room service at all. At dinner, there was only a buffet at the restaurant - no a la carte. And none of the food on display was anything I could eat. so I did not even try breakfast, which left me even more irritable. And it is again, quite a distance to your restaurant, if you have reduced mobility. The wake up service on the phone in the room, did not work. and the aircon wasn't working - just made a very loud rumbling noise.

Cons: There was noise the entire night in the room next to us. Room 154. The people next to us was permanent residents. The 2 single beds next to each other made as n double bed is a BIG NO NO!!! There were no network. Wifi was useless.

Cons: We arrived at 10PM after a long flight. We were given room 165. No power adapter was available in the room or at the reception so we were unable to recharge our phones. The wifi doesn't work in that room and, even if they kept saying they would fix it, it was never fixed. The same happened for the safe; it was low battery and it was never fixed.

Cons: Would be nice to at least have some bottled water in the room when you arrive, especially since tourists are not advised to drink the tap water. I had meetings during the day and the few markets that were open, closed at 5pm on the weekend.
