The room was a good size
When you pull up to the hotel there are traffic cones but if you have a hired car that is not a Merc or above then no attention is given until you get out of the car and call them. The directory says phone concierge for a beach towel, concierge puts me through to housekeeping who puts me through to the Spa. The Spa knows nothing but will call back, no call. Took a room towel to the beach. The sink in the bathroom would not drain and seemed stained with hair coloring? the Toilet was not dissimilar. Asked for Rooibos and lemon at breakfast, got Rooibos and ginger, then that took fifteen minutes.
Beautiful building, lovely dining area serving a huge selection of delicious options for breakfast, fabulous friendly staff. One morning felt adventurous and moved away from eggs benny and took our waitress’ suggestion of French toast with bacon and banana-taste sensation!! We booked a club access room with mountain/ city view and were initially shown to a beautiful room on the 7th floor, huge balcony but a big wall and no view. We went to see Innocence, the ‘butler’ in the exec lounge, who liaised with reception and relocated us to a beautiful room with floor to ceiling view of table mountain from the bedroom and lounge room (both had small balconies) Innocence was wonderful- Mr fixit; nothing was too much trouble, and he had the best smile and positive demeanour. Room comfortable, bed really comfy, room service very good. Great massage and facial in the day spa. Pleasant dinner at Raj restaurant, lovely setting but service a little pretentious for us.
Executive lounge disappointing, no atmosphere as it’s stuck in the middle of the second floor with no views at all. Very limited snacks and 2 complementary drinks only - no open bar. Pretentious service in Raj
I like only some of the personel that can realy want to help you.
That is not the best hotel in town.for your own safety you should stay in waterfront area hotels. After the sunset you can not walk anywhere and the hotel is like prison for you. Housekeeping service is also not good that they even do not know what to change and how to clean.
Traditional 5 stars hotel in the center of Cape Town. Very rich breakfast.
The service at the Mint restaurant was a little below expecations (wine in the list missing, some spots on the table cloth)
breakfast was excellent ! Valet service and concierge service were both very good!!
