Cons: Our room was not ready when we arrived at 2pm. We waited until 330pm for it to be ready. In the room, there was a full ashtray on the balcony and blood on the wall in the bathroom. The room’s amenities were outdated. We had to move the kettle to get a plug that works, there were no usb ports to charge our phones. A staff member walked into our room without knocking around 330pm. The following morning at 810am, a staff member knocked on our door, wanting to check the mini bar! We ordered our dinner in the room and it arrived without cutlery. It took 2 phone calls and 25 mins for cutlery to arrive. The food was cold by this time. We had a spa appointment. The sauna was not working in the men’s room. The steam room in the ladies’ room smelt like dirty socks and there was a strange white, built up residue on the wall. Overall the spa facilities felt tired and anything but luxurious.

Then you get taken to your room and it's just the small personal touches that's just make your day. I loved their restaurant Bombay Brasserie which has FABULOUS food. I'm will definitely be back

Cons: The cables attaching the patio shades to the building in front of room 206 made a constant mind rattling noise during the entire second night of my stay completely eroding any enjoyment of the space. After 2 hours of trying to ignore it I called the night duty manager who sent someone to listen to the noise first before agreeing to move me to another room. The staff were very friendly and helpful but I pity anyone who stays in room 206 or possibly 205 and 207 during a windy night in Cape Town. If you can, avoid staying on the street side of the hotel - rooms 201 to 208.

They had pre-booked some recommended restaurants for us which we could then accept, decline or change but their recommendations were great places and 2 of them especially we would never have got a table as our stay went over a weekend. They also gave us a taxi recommendation for coming back at night and the service from Unicabs was also first class as we never had to wait more than 5 mins (cost approx 50 Rand). KP also brilliantly placed for Table Mountain. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Cons: I have just 2 minor criticisms..one is there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Even though the front desk said we could have tea sent up to the room, personally I still prefer to be able to make one whenever I wish. Secondly, the air conditioning unit could not be taken colder than 19 deg and we had been used to having rooms cooler at 17 on our 3 weeks in SA so found the room a bit warm at times.

Cons: There was a rooftop function on the saturday night. The hotel let us know about thi son Saturday. I woudl have preferred the option when I booked in on Friday, as we had a number of intoxiated guests trying to gain access to our aistream and general area. I think what woudl have been helpful is if we 1. were asked if we wanted to stay on the rooftop in spite of the fundtion when we booked in; 2. The function guests were briefed beforehand that the airstreams were actual rooms and as such off limits.

Pros: I loved the tub in my room and house keeping! They made sure to make up my bed everyday! The staff was just amazing! They got to know me and asked about my stay! They would great me in the morning at breakfast and if I went out to tour the town they advised me to be safe! It really felt like home. The front desk service agents were impeccable! I told them I was from the states and they provided me with site seeing activities I could do! The bar and chi-cha lounge inside the hotel was great! Some night when it was cold and rainy my friends and I could still have fun and lounge around! I will definitely be visiting again! The staff, food and accommodations were amazing!

Pros: I loved the tub in my room and house keeping! They made sure to make up my bed everyday! The staff was just amazing! They got to know me and asked about my stay! They would great me in the morning at breakfast and if I went out to tour the town they advised me to be safe! It really felt like home. The front desk service agents were impeccable! I told them I was from the states and they provided me with site seeing activities I could do! The bar and chi-cha lounge inside the hotel was great! Some night when it was cold and rainy my friends and I could still have fun and lounge around! I will definitely be visiting again! The staff, food and accommodations were amazing!

We had booked 2 different rooms as were a party of 6. They moved us the next day no problem (but only because i showed them the email they had sent me confirming we would have table.mountain view.-staff really helpful. The room we moved to was gorgeous. Huge apartment with the most amazing views over table mountain. Clean, modern and comfy beds. Only prob we had was food- everywhere closes and the indian restaurant downstairs was not nice. You just need to be prepared. The food market straight across the road is great and closes at 6 so just get stocked up before closing. Literally sell everything. Croissants etc for breakfast and fresh juices. Pizza, burgers, steak sandwiches, roast chicken atc in the hot food area-cooked for you as you wait. We got this for take away and ate on our bamcony with the amazing view!

Cons: Everything closes at 6 and there was nowhere to get food after that except for the one restaurant that stayed open in the foyer but we wouldnt recommend! The executive 2 bed apartment with balcony was an amazing room (ask in advance for view of table mountain) but the luxery studio apartment wasnt as nice-not like in the photos on booking.com.

Cons: The room we stayed in was small and nothing close to what was advertised. The premise needs to work on their drainage system - the sink in the bathroom took time to drain and that is a disgusting thing to have. The way the shower is supposed to work is that you press down the top of the tap, which takes time to do so (sometimes one had to hold the tap down) and if it's your lucky day and it works, there is still water running from the tap, so much for a city that is trying to save water... Also the location of the hotel bar, which allows smoking is just not ideal... the cigarette stench at the entrance of the hotel gives a cheap vibe to the place.

Cons: While parking staff were most helpful, the limited parking posed a bit of a challenge. Costs for the hotel should up front advise of the deposit that is needed and the parking fee that is not included in the price. Traffic noise in Buitengracht St. on Friday night up until the early hours of Saturday a.m. was kept me awake. Ear plugs should be provided in all street facing rooms. We did not know that there would not be a walk in shower but had to use that over the bath which was most "uncomfortable". In this case a non-slip mat should also be provided to put into the bath.

Cons: It was a tiny box of a room. The small, prison-like window that could not open, was filthy. The blind, once open, would not close as all the strings were in a tangle. Even the maintenance man struggled with it. The room rate was apparently on a 50% special discount - the room was too small and pokey to have demanded a higher price. Staff said the nearest ATM within walking distance was not safe to go to. Dodgy neighbourhood.

Cons: The front entry is on a pedestrian mall with no immediate access when being dropped off by taxi. You have to wheel your luggage through the mall. For us this was late at night and we were approached by a person begging. Our apartment was on the first floor and we could hear voices from the mall at all times of the night.

Cons: Would be nice to at least have some bottled water in the room when you arrive, especially since tourists are not advised to drink the tap water. I had meetings during the day and the few markets that were open, closed at 5pm on the weekend.
