As always, easy, professional, accommodating, simple. Yes when booking enterprises prices may be a few dollars more compared to the others. The value and experience and ease and quality of vehicle cleanliness and upkeep is always worth every penny to me.

The car's fabric seats were super dirty and just looked old. The car's heat also did not work so we spent the entire rental with no heat in the middle of winter.

The whole transaction from pick up to drop off was simple and quick. I did some research on one way car rentals from Boston to San Francisco. KAYAK was anywhere from $400-1000 cheaper. I got a Toyota Camry which got almost 40MPG. So, I would go back since the entire process was smooth and reasonable.

At the last minute on Thanksgiving Day, when another car rental company left us stranded (despite our reservation) the Enterprise desk at Logan Airport, Boston, came through for us. They were friendly and efficient. At first they told me their cars could not be rented for one-way dropoff, but when I made a reservation through Kayak (while standing in their line!) they agreed to honor it. On returning the car in Portland, ME, the office was also very accommodating - changing our return location from the city office to the airport with no fuss, in order to make it possible for us to return at an early hour. All in all, a rare good experience with a car rental. We will be back. Thanks!

The process to pick up/drop off the car was easy and smooth! The car we received was functionally fine and drove well, but there were minor outer dents and the front bumper slightly poking out that were somewhat minuses/concerning a bit. The main concern and issue I had was that I bought collision insurance via the 3rd party platform with Kayak to rent a car from Enterprise; however when I met up with the Enterprise rep, they told me the collision insurance I bought didn't transfer over so they had to confirm with me before giving me the insurance on their end. That was the only concern I experienced so I hope for those purchasing insurance via Kayak will be able to get it from the actual car vendor too.

The process of picking up and dropping off was good and quick. The Problem: they charged much more than promised. We did not get a receipt upon drop off.

It was convenient. I was told that we would be picked up, just call. Called the 800 number was told to hold for a minute was on over 45 minutes, had my husband call the local they never answered. Gave up on the 45 minute hold. Took a taxi when we got there was told they don't pick up on weekends. I had called before I left for the trip and specifically told them where I would be and the day and was told no problem. They did make an adjustment for part of the taxi fare. Return was pretty easy. But the girl didn't know the number you had to call for the shuttle. Fortunately we hit a very nice lady who helped us out.

After a long flight that put us in Boston at 3:00 AM we were worried that we would have an issue getting our car this early in the morning. Both Hertz check-out and return (check-in) staff were a tad grumpy / diffident. Facility was cramped, difficult to find / get to, dirty. Check-in (return) process poorly explained. Though the 'Price' was the decider, that this pick-up location was NOT at the airport wasn't well advertised.

When I got there, I had ordered a midsize like a Mazda. All they had available was a minivan (which I'll never drive), a Tesla (cars that catch on fire, self driving -yuck, and Elon Musk, so no thanks), and an Escalade (a kind of huge Trump mobile that will destroy the planet), so no, no, and no. Thankfully, the lady went to the back and found newly cleaned Kia that did the trick. All of the people were helpful, and it was super easy to get in and out. I've gotten cars at this location about five times, and they are always good.

I like the pick up it was good, even that we have to ask many questions regarding the process. Improvement: Better information to the customer 1. We drop off around 5am in the morning and we have to figure it out how we go in into the parking building , how and where to left the keys, even though we asked the procedure. More caring with the customers 2. We called 1 day before to drop off if we can returning the car at the airport, however they said yes but paying $112,00, because of my work I have to travel frequently and never happen this amount of cost and most of the time it has no cost

When I arrived, the car I booked was not allowed to be received with the card I had paid with. Extreme rules that you can only rent with a debit card if you return to the same location and have an outbound flight ticket. But I booked a one way rental Boston to Albany, with a train ticket home. Shouldn't be allowed to rent with a card I won't be able to complete the trip with. Or needs to be EXTREMELY indicated. Very disruptive and disappointing part of the trip, I won't feel confident renting on Kayak again.

I will probably not rent form Avis or Budget ever again. They ended up charging over $1330 when I had arranged a car for $466. Customer service could not help and the online escalation team has yet to get back to me. I feel taken advantage of and ignored.

I went to the rental location. I was told that they did not have any cars. While waiting for an uber to go back to the hotel, someone returned a car that was then provided to me. While all of this was happening, I asked to use the restroom and was told it was only for employees. When I was finalizing my rental agreement, another customer came in and asked for the restroom while he waited, and he was told it was ok to use it. So, why was a paying customer like myself denied the use of the restroom, and another paying customer was allowed to use it? Is it because I am hispanic? I was also charged an extra fee for the car, because I had reserved a compact car, and I got a full car. Was this my fault? That you ran out of inventory? I had to take the first car that came in!!!

After waiting over 1 hour in line at Logan airport for my car I was told there were no more cars and that I needed to go to a hotel in Boston to pick up a car. Thus, I had to pay for Uber to take me there. To make matters worse, that facility is only open at 8AM. Since my flight back out was at 7AM I had to return the car the night before and pay for another Uber to the airport. Yes, I still got charged for a full day of rental. The staff at Avis were fine just rushed and under duress. Avis management's lack of planning to adjust to volume causes the issues. They aren't a startup organization by any means, yet almost behaves like one.

Car hire was extortionate! Don't gouge cutomers at the airport. Then I get a car whose battery didn't work so had 3 days without a car. Ended up being replaced in Springfield (grumpy male served me) with a dirty car. Boston staff were courteous and helpful and refunded the three days. But overall it was genuinely the worst car rental experience I've ever had.

Kayak did not make it clear the opening hours of this location, which caused real issues when flight to Boston arrived late. Budget worked things out for us but wish Kayak information was clearer.

The Budget Rental on 270 Atlantic avenue in Boston does not provide an airport courtesy ride. Customers using this facility must be prepared to ride a cab or Uber to this location. The rental had less than half tank of gas. Most rental companies I have used normally provide a full tank of gas and the vehicle is returned with a full tank.

Car was good and clean. The service desk at pickup point tried to sell as muss additionales (insurances, e-toll, …) as possible even though it was obvious that we wouldn’t need them

At both pickup and drop off in the parking garage, they appear to be understaffed. I had to look for someone to tell me which cars I could choose from and at drop off, no clear instructions were given. There were other people arriving at the same time as me, so it was not a case of only one customer.

The highlight of our experience was on rental car return when the return manager noticed we had young children and eagerly offered to have us driven up to the airport departures rather than have to take the bus from the rental car area to the terminal with all our bgs and kids. The car itself was an uneven ride with what I suspect are some alignment issues.

Car wreaked of cigarette smoke when I picked it up. I’m allergic to smoke, so it was not ideal, but the garage attendant made sure to note it in her exit check. Muhammad the desk attendant at Logan airport was kind and helpful.

When I showed up for my reservation the car was not there. The lobby was filled with other people who had reservations but dollar had no cars. They told us to wait until someone brought a car back for us but they didn’t know how long that would be. Dollar charges no late fees for late returns of their cars. Which in theory is good for the renter of the car, but has a domino effect on other customers. I ended up leaving and not getting a car at all. Will not rent from them ever again

(1) The line at the Dollar check at Logan airport was very long with only one agent at the desk and it was close to closing time at 7:00pm. The agent was very friendly and did the best he could under the circumstances. However, each check in took about 10 minutes to process. The wait time was about an hour. (2) My rental car had terrible visibility and shimmied from any gust of wind. Parking the car was very difficult because the camera and park assist were useless. (3) The only positives were the friendly agents at check in and at drop off.

The Boston Logan Thrifty pick-up process was horrendous. They were understaffed and slow. There was a line of 30+ customers trying to pick up cars that took over an hour to get through. The other rental car lines had no one. Recommend another company.

2+ hour wait in Boston. I can send a pic if you want it. The staff person at the next counter said it's like that every weekend. I'll never book Dollar or Thrifty (it was doubled up at the Thrifty counter; no Dollar staff available). The Dollar staff were fine. They were just seriously understaffed.

Pros: Price looked fine
Cons: The class of car reserved was not available. I was told to take a minivan which is something I did not need. I was then given another car which was ok except that the brakes were squeaking right through which made the safety questionable. The car i do not think was cleaned fully.

Fill up before drop off!
Pros: Very easy pickup and drop off. They put me in a Kia Sedona that was in pretty good condition. It had Apple CarPlay which was a nice perk.
Cons: This car rental company charges almost $10 a gallon! Make sure you fill up before drop off or you'll be stuck with a $100 dollar gas bill!

Pros: The car was fine. The gentleman at the pick up desk was nice.
Cons: There was only one person at the pick-up desk; it took thirty minutes to get finished with my paperwork and there had only been two people ahead of me. The car had not been refueled when I finally got to it.

Terrible experience!!! Charged late fee due to Advantages cheap signs

Cons: Hi I recently used Advantage rental for the first time and found I had a lot of difficulty in locating the pickup and return locations in Boston Logan airport. This appeared to be due to Advantage not having appropriate signage and labels indicating where customers should go. Advantage did not have an illuminated sign like all the other rental places had along the entry ramp into the parking garage. Because of this, I drove all around looking for where it was located and I ended up on the 3rd floor instead of the 2nd (where Advantage was) and had to ask an employee of a different rental place where it was. He said this happens to people A LOT and told me I would need to find the gate person and tell her what happened so she could let me out. I got stuck waiting in a massive line of cars paying to exit for nearly a half hour and had to convince the lady what had happened and to please let me out. By the time I got out and had to loop all the way around, find the correct Advantage return area, and get the car checked it was 12, an hour past the 11pm due time. Because of this, I was charged an extra $35.98 as a late fee. Also, the rental agreement says all charges are based on a 24 hour rental day which is misleading because technically my two day rental should have ended at 12 not 11pm. I see on Yelp advantage has just 1.5 stars which is not a competitive rating at all. Instead of writing another nasty comment to compound the poor rating, I am reaching out directly to see if the situation can be rectified here. I believe that due to lack of Advantage location signs around the (very confusing) Logan airport, as well as a misleading rental agreement, it is very fair to refund me the penalty fee of $35.98. This is definitely the way to establish rapport with your customers and get better reviews.

Was misinformed by EZ Rent-A-Car Rep
Pros: speed of pick-up/drop off
Cons: EZ Rep advised us to purchase a toll pass as it was cheaper than paying for it at the toll gates. I advised that our route shouldn't involve tolls to which he strongly advised we would indeed and it was cheaper prepaid. after the trip from Boston Airport to Cape Cod - we in fact did not pass any tolls. This was a unnecessary $10 USD fee! Will not use this company again or it's affiliate Advantage.

My car wasn't available , they gave me another which after waiting for it for half an hour also wasn't available - I ended up having to take an unsuitable pickup truck just to get out of the airport after waiting almost 2 hours

Never again. Is Payless a real company? No signage at airport (go to Avis counter), rep had a lot of trouble accessing Payless’s system. Car was decent.

The price was good. The Payless counter to pickup our rental did not exist; there was only a single very small sign at the beginning of a long queue leading up to Avis and Budget counters, all very confusing. Our vehicle was not available so the agent (Avis) gave us an upgraded vehicle at same price. The association of Payless with these other rental companies remains a mystery. Returning the vehicle was confusing as we were told to leave the key in the vehicle but nothing else. I asked a worker about this and he said we would get an email, but never got one. Seems communication on returning vehicle is rather poor.

Waited 2 hours in Boston. Long line. Person who helped had never done a Payless Rental. Fouled up paperwork. First car she gave me she told me to go to wrong car spot and wrong car there. Next car I was given a man was sitting in it and said he had also rented it. Third car something was wrong acne wouldn’t take my charger so 4th car was a dud. The entire rental time messages about routine maintenance needs to be done and collusion light kept beeping after repeated cleanings of windshield. No button to open and close trunk. I rented a midsize and this Outlander was definitely on small size. At checkout I was told Ivwoukd get a refund discount but that never showed in final receipt. Didn’t line car. Too basic if features. Car play would never work On the screen could only listen on phone. Totally disgusted for the amount of money I spent!!!!!!

I reserved a Camry and was offered a Mustang or pickup truck or Wrangler, none of which suited the size of car I needed for my trip. And Payless was just as expensive as the other companies, so I didn't pay less, and I got a car I didn't want. Last time with this company (which is also owned by Avis/Budget).

It took almost 2 hours to pick up my vehicle at Boston Logan Airport. I had to stand in line with customers who did not have a reservation and I had to cancel my evening plans because Payless, Budget, and Avis were the only companies taking customers without reservations. I wish there was a separate line for customers who had all of their rental paperwork done in advance.

check-in was too long
Pros: The check-out person at the garage was very nice.
Cons: We waited in line for almost 30 minutes to get our car, and the rep, who was very nice, moved at a snails pace. By the time we got to our car, we had to wait another 10+ minutes as there was a line of cars getting checked out to leave the garage. In the end, it took 90 minutes in total from the time I got off my plane until I left the garage with my car.

No refund despite inclement weather
Cons: There was no option to cancel my rental, which I could not use due to a snowstorm that hit Boston the night of my rental. This is extremely disappointing to me.

Cheap car rental, but poor employee training
Pros: Was economical. Car was fine, pretty typical rental process.
Cons: Employees are trained to try to get you to purchase all the useless extras. The counter pickup experience is very slow, with the process sometimes taking 20-30 minutes for a single customer as they try to convince them that the insurance and extras are worth it. It's not that much different than other rental places, but definitely slower and slightly more obnoxious. Still, I'll always go with the cheapest rental.

Will NEVER rent with Advantage again
Pros: Good price, nice car
Cons: Our flight was changed due to a storm and when I called Advantage, the phone agent said as long as we picked it up within 24 hours of our original reservation, the car would be held for us and no changes needed to be made for the reservation. However, when we arrived, with our young children who had just traveled by plane, the car had NOT been held for us and we'd been marked down as a "no show." When we told the agent at the desk (Alexandra Garcia in Boston) that we'd called ahead, she said we could pay extra for a more expensive car, but she took no responsibility for the problem and was incredibly rude. What a horribly disappointing experience.

lying, deceiving, hustling employees at the kiosk
Cons: bad for business lying manipulative employees will try not come back will post all my experience on social media they will try to sell you anything that is already included and you paid for. like electronic toll box on the front window.its there,installed,but they will lye to you and will try to sell it to you for 35 bucks.THE TOLLS ARE CHEAPER THEN THAT. and so on and on .....Manipulators.

Cons: We ended up losing our money and not renting the car. They were unable to accomodate one extra day without charging us an additional $195. The agents had bad attitudes and were unwilling to accommodate us, even though they had the inventory. We will never use advantage again.

I reserved luxury but our luggage didn’t fit so we were able to get a Ram Rebel full size truck. It made the vacation much easier and we loved the truck.

Great experience! Worried about using a intermediary like Kayak and had not used National before. Entire rental went flawless. Was able to see rental on the kayak app as well as the National app. Would do again.

You guys screwed me. I specifically asked for a car at Logan airport and your dumb app reserved a car for me in downtown Boston. Got to the airport and there was no car. No number to call to straighten it out. So I had to rent a car at the airport and paid double. Needless to say I was not happy. I will not be using Kayak again.

My flight got in late and I was going to miss the closing time of the car rental place. After two unsatisfactory calls to National trying to see if they could stay open later to wait for me, I made a third call and was assured that the place would stay open an extra hour as my flight was late and that was their policy. When I got there (absolutely within that hour), they were closed and I was stranded, having to find alternative transportation and never got that rental car from National.

Cons: Left iPad in glove compartment. When I returned to the car rental area the iPad hadn't been handed in to the manager or lost property after the car was cleaned which was disappointing. I couldn't check car myself as it had been rented out even though I had returned within 3 hours of having left the car back

I booked a Toyota RAV4 on short notice and was told there are actually no RAV4’s in stock and that the cheapest option was to move to a BMW 2-series. I was then told the 2-series is usually $25 more expensive per day but the price would be reduced to $15/day more as I was visiting Boston to see my mother in the hospital (who unfortunately ultimately passed 4 days later). I see the final invoice is not reflecting the $15/day price quote I was verbally advised. Can someone help take a closer look? Thanks.

They accepted my reservation and my money only to tell me they had no cars available except luxury vehicle which were 10 times the cost of my booked rental and a $2500 deposit, while also informing me they had no Intention of honoring my original booking while being rude af, knowing I had just landed in a new city with an important meeting to get to. When I asked them why they said “because it is cold out the demand is higher and we can” And it was during that cold snap this past weekend where it dropped below zero. All the while, continuing to badger me to let them have a pastry from a box i stopped to get from a special place back hone that I had carried on the plane as a gift to the people I was meeting with. I had been a subscriber of their services for 6 months earlier this year and now, they are dead to me. Dead to me. I will never ever consider using them again for how they treated a once loyal subscriber
