When I went to the rental counter with my paperwork, I started to ask a question, and I was just cut off. "I just need to see your credit card and Driver's License. I gave her the ID and she just turned away from me. She then handed me a contract to sign. I looked at it and asked why $38 was added to my bill and she said you came early so that's an extra day. I thought if Ii rented it at 9:30 and returned it at 9:30 I was OK. Lesson learned. I asked if I could pick my car and she said No, that is the only car they have.... I was thinking of buying a Rav4 or Tucson and wanted to test one. She said no! Even though we just walked past them in the lot. Very Blunt Cust. Service! I asked a different agent and they said it is the trap when you pre-rent and tell them a time.Reviewed 3 May 2026

They did not have the vehicle class I reserved at the time of pickup. They charged me for the e-toll premium service and did not offer the standard toll option even when I asked about the high price. And finally, the vehicle was provided with less fuel AND returned with a full tank, but despite that the receipt reflected that the vehicle was returned short on gas and I had to pay a fuel fee. I was able to get them to agree to refund me the fuel fee, but only after calling them and providing photos, which I had thankfully taken. The KIA Seltos met all my expectations - cleanliness, cost and the car itself. Rental return was excellent on May 1. Experience getting the vehicle on April 1 was terrible! Took close to an hour to get waited on. No one was at the Budget Rental counter for the longest time. Also never informed this was a Budget rental car and needed to go to that counter.Reviewed 2 May 2026

We had one issue. On arriving about 9:30p 25 Apr 25 in Tucson, computers were down so the fellow checking us in had to fill out the paperwork by hand. But he was excellent, with a totally positive can-do attitude and everything worked out fine. I didn't get his name, but he was the only agent there at the time and he deserves a 5 star rating for his work. Definitely above and beyond. When I got there, they only had 18 passenger vans. They did not have the car reserved. It was 11 PM and I had my two nephews with me. They ended up giving me an electric car that was not charged. It was my first time driving an electric car, and I actually loved the way the car drove, however, we had to stop and charge it to get to my brother’s house because it only had 30% charge when we left Avis. By the time we got to my brothers it had something like 9% charge left. We charged it for 40 minutes and only gained 1%. The next day I had to park the car at the charger and leave it. I was not able to use the car at all. It only served me to get to my brothers and to get back to the airport. And I could only get back to the airport by charging it for six hours. Meanwhile, my brother had two electric chargers that we could not use because they did not have a Tesla converter plug in the car. Those plugs are free from Hyundai, but they didn’t have them so high-speed charging was out as an option. The car was dirty as well. I was told I could exchange the car, but the only Avis dealership within the range of the charge that I had had no cars. So I paid a lot of money for a car I couldn’t use.Reviewed 30 Apr 2026
