Pros: The Mandarin Oriental Taipei fulfilled our expectations - and then some. Classic building, great service, smiles everywhere, spa and breakfast were also top notch. Throughout our various travels, one of the rare occasions where the hotel was the star & highlight of the trip (on top of Taipei being a great city to visit!). Location is not central for a tourist, but taxis are always waiting out front, and the 5~7 minute walk to the MRT station (which has great connectivity) was quick, joyful and peaceful. Definitely our home away from home in Taipei going forward. Last but not least, a very special thank you to William at the check-in desk - one of the most thoughtful, flawless, true- and warm-hearted greetings ever at any hotel.

Pros: Total experiences was great.. We booked Horizon club room to check in on 36th floor. Get room earlier like 12 noon. View of Taipei 101 is really stunning on our window bedroom. BF, cocktail during 17.30 is ok not much many selections but all good. Drink also great, full of Sparking, Red, White wine, whisky, spirit and beers. Thank you for warm welcome with a nice rose, bottle of wine, box of chocolate for our anniversary occasions. Great choices for us indeed. :)

It is 15 min cab ride away from the Sungsan Taipei Airport and lots of major attractions and shopping malls are within 15 min cab rise away including Taipei 101. The roof top outdoor pool has a great view of Taipei city and Taipei 101.

Cons: Location is a bit far from MRT, but free shuttle bus service is convenience for me to go shopping and MRT. Have to call taxi back to the hotel for return route but not a big deal for us.

Cons: It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. The closest metro station is 10 min walk away but not good when the weather is 29-30 deg C.

Cons: Gym is too small and too less equipment. Actually I heard Taiwan is fruit country and the most famous is fruit, but there is too less options of fruit in the breakfast. If possible, it’s much better to have English descriptions on control panel of toilet, not everyone does read Chinese.

Cons: For the price of the room, I have stayed in better hotels for much cheaper. Carpets weren't that clean. Way over priced for the room. Pretty basic room for the price. Buffet was way overpriced.

Cons: The room was very dirty we pay 635-700 usd per night for 4 night to see the fireworks from our room but all we can see was a very dirty window hardly looking through outside view. So why do we have to pay that much if we can’t see anything? The bed is so small 90 cm, you can hardly move during the night and this is not what you expect from the room that cost 700usd a night the room size is so smal as well (33 Sqm. If the Hyatt would like to charge that much for this kind of room, we better stay somewhere else

Cons: We booked a high room with view on Taipei 101 with a balcony but management has decided guests could not not access their balcony and removed handles. We had booked and paid 6 months ago with a credit card that was renewed since and the employees and management wanted to refund us the money paid 6 montsh ago (for which we would have to pay a transaction fee) then charge us again for the same amount with the new card (for which we would have to pay a third transaction fee). They were totally intractable and basically could not care for the inconvenince and money loss this was causing us, just saying again and again, "t's our policy/procedure". Totally unreasonable People like this should not be in the hospitality business

Cons: The hot water in the shower did not work. We called down to the desk and inquired about it and they said let it run for 1-2 minutes. It had been running for 10 minutes when we called. Luckily the water in the bath was hot. The gym was shut down for renovation. The laundry service was ridiculously overpriced. Luckily there was a nearby laundromat where we could do laundry.

Cons: I was on the 8th floor and there was a stale odor in the hallway. The electric toilet didn't work and the shower door leaked water on the bathroom floor. As for their breakfast buffet, while the service was great, the breakfast was disappointingly mediocre at best. They could have easily improved the quality, for example, if you're serving bagels and lockes, please have cream cheese available... and of course some sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and capers will be nice too.

Pros: I like the conceptual design of the dorm beds, they are both clean and spacious. It is definitely built for comfort, and the facilities provided are very clean as well.
Cons: The space of the dorm may be too small, where large luggage would occupy many of the spaces making it compact within the room. The size of the private toilet for the dorm may be also small, so it could be difficult for people with large body size to move around.

Pros: Thought a hostel would be really small and cramped but beds were super wide and comfy! Each dorm also had a personal toilet which was convenient. The location of the hostel was also very close to the station and the station is at a very central location. Managed to walk back to the hostel and avoided the crowd after catching the New Year's countdown at Taipei 101!
Cons: Wished there would have been more toilet cubicles for showering!

Pros: Great location. Close to MRT station. Many small places to eat all around the hotel. Room pretty modern. Nice « Japanese-style » toilet. Some problems, but the price is still good for what you get.
Cons: Room cleaning was not very good. Two days in a row was not done despite having clearly switched on the proper light. When it was done, was poorly executed: bed was not well done at all. Just pulled up the cover in sloppy way and didn’t fluff up the pillows. Mold on the ceiling of the room due to poor ventilation. No fan in the bathroom: after the shower the room gets pretty damp. I don’t really like shampoo and body wash in small packages... they’re hard to open when showering and there’s barely enough product in them. Also gives a « cheap » image of the hotel.

Cons: - Very unwelcoming receptionists with poor English - breakfast is very limited - limited toiletries for 4 star hotel - costly for not central location ( bad value for money) - our door lock was broken

Cons: The restaurant for breakfast is boardcasting an unpopular music all the time during breakfast time, I personally dislike it and feel that it is noise instead of elegant atmosphere.

Cons: I was very upset to find out that they do not have an airport shuttle even though it was listed as one of their services. When I was ready for my flight the front desk informed me that they could call a taxi for me but I responsible for paying for the taxi.

Cons: The room is very small and very basic. Not very clean, the bathroom was very dirty and everyday they bed sheets had the cleaners hair all over the sheets and in the fridge. The sheets where not cleaned very well. Would rate the hotel more a 2.5 star due to the room quality and facilities

Cons: 1. The room absolutely did not have any view from the window! I saw another building's wall and nothing else. The worst thing that 50% of the whole hotel rooms have no view. Fake photos here on booking. Even before check in I left a message with a special request which was just ignored. 2. Very cold in the room because conditioner didn't have warm option. 3. Extremely old furniture. No coffee machine which was included in the booking list. Once again many photos are fake here. I hope booking.com will solve this problem
