Pros: Excellent choices for breakfast with a variety of starters, all taken in a very pleasant dining room. I think the location is excellent with three different routes to walk into town. One walk into town goes to Anne Hathaway's cottage, which is well worth a visit on the way. There is also a bus route directly into town.

Cons: A walk in shower rather than an over-bath shower would have been preferable
5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff were very friendly. Location is great. Right opposite the RSC.
Cons: Hotel was dirty and very very poorly maintained. The room we stayed in did not match the photos on the website at all. I was so disappointed with the hotel that I cried. Staff tried to be as accommodating as possible but ultimately the entire place needs a deep clean and a good refurb. We were shown 4 rooms before we picked the least dirty and damaged. Paint was peeling off the walls, the bath was chipped, the chairs in the room were stained with god knows what. This was a Christmas present for my mum and I found the entire experience very upsetting and a real waste of money.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was marvellous, both dinner and breakfast were superb and the restaurant staff were great. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. Water in the room, coffee/tea etc and nice toiletries
Cons: Only complaint was that there was no still water in my room just 2 bottles of fizzy and also I had no shower gel, minor irritations

Pros: Staff were very helpful and hotel itself was in a great location.
Cons: Bed was a bit firm and pity about the weather (not I. Your control)

Cons: The portion control on food was far too small. I had a piece of cod which was tiny and cost £24 I complained about this and they did not charge me for my dessert. At breakfast the pastries were so small and the size of a fifty pence piece. I ordered two poached eggs on toast which were delivered on a small plate with both eggs on one slice of toast

Pros: The hotel/building was beautiful as were the grounds. Our room was an excellent size with the bathroom almost matching the size of the bedroom! We also had a small type hallway with the wardrobe in the hall. Makes such a difference to moving about. We were on the ground floor which we requested as my husband is recovering from knee surgery so we were very near all the facilities. The Spa and leisure facilities were excellent too. A very good stocked gym with large swimming pool, steam and sauna areas. They even had foot spas at one end of the pool area. The ambience of the lounge and restaurant was stunning and the view from the restaurant over the grounds was equally stunning. Would definitely go to Hallmark Welcombe in Stratford again. Must mention the staff; they were SO friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They worked with a smile on their faces which always makes for a more welcoming experience.

Cons: The food in the bar was very limited and when it came it was cold. We did not eat in the restaurant because after looking at the menu that too was limited. We were not supplied with water in our room which in a hotel of your calibre I would have thought would have been normal

Cons: If I had to pinpoint something, it would be when "romantic" lighting descended of an evening time (around 6.30pm). With the low side lights and the log fires, it still seemed rather dark if you wanted to read.

6.8 Good
Pros: Perfect location for walking into town, only a few mins walk to the canal side, RSC, and shops/cafes in town centre.
Cons: Average room, good size, but quite plain, feel like it’s a bit overpriced for just one room and a small bathroom. Shower only ran boiling hot water and could find no way to fix this, so ended up washing hair in sink!
6.8 Good
Pros:
Cons: 3 people in the room but only towels for 2.
Residents paying for parking but parking tight as a wedding on.
