9.6 Excellent
Pros: The garden was amazing, interior design, attentionto detail and quality to be seen everywhere, very good location, best accessible by car (only), BBQ wasn’t that easy to use, so I wouldn’t overrely on it and just choose the kitchen. Particularly loved the privacy and just a few people (since max 10 rooms), which can be critical for some families traveling with small kids. On overall - this is a very nice place to restore and recharge.

Pros: Absolutely everything! From the staff to the room to the pool to the garden to the jacuzzi to the parking lot to the common areas and the breakfast... If we come back to the area, we would definitely stay here.
Cons: The beds at the pool are comfortable but are not suitable for laying on your stomach. The shower by the pool was not supplied with fresh towels, shower gel, shampoo. However, I am being super picky. It is very hard to find anything to dislike!

Pros: A classic old castle. Beautifully detailed and restored. Original ceilings and crown molding. Clean and quiet. beautiful setting. Updated security. Exceeded our expectations! We will be back!
Cons: Nothing. We loved our stay. The owner was charming and very proud of her property. She gave us a short tour. Wish we could have stayed longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay in the superior suite. Very comfortable and luxurious apartment with fully equipped kitchenette and our own private (large) balcony. The beautifully renovated castle with authentic details made our trip to the Ardennes unforgettable. We would totally recommend this place and can’t wait to be back soon!
Cons: Everything was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our host was very caring , we loved the room, breakfast , our suit was beautifull and the bed very comfy.
Cons: a TV channel in English might be usefull
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice woman, and very helpful as well. And yes, it was not a room as we expected but like a full apartment! with kitchen, and even a special room for taking tee (with a good choice of tasty tee, by the way). The view from the slipping room is on hills and a garden, and you can see sunrise in the morning. The breakfast was simple, but fresh, and for free) the parking is also free. The location is good, just in 15 minutes on foot from the city centre, not so far from funicular getting you to Thermes, and at the one of hiking routes. Overall, it was a great experience to stay at the place. Highly recommended!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The way we were received was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is located just outside the busy part of town it's a 2 minute drive near the Cafe's and restaurants. The owner is really hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant.
Cons: I had nothing to complain about
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very nice, romantic place to stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: New-Castle is full of character and quirky charm. It's not actually a bed-and-breakfast but I was offered a continental breakfast all the same ... very kind. The location is beautiful, particularly in the autumn because it is surrounded by trees.
Cons: The heating wasn't very good and large rooms will be cold in the winter.
7.3 Good
Pros: Very nice and stylish room, very lovely and helpful hosts
Cons: the bed mattress is too soft
7.0 Good
Pros: The place was very Bohemien and full of quirky character. The room was very pleasant and the bathroom amazing with a huge walk in shower and equally huge lumps of forest, tree trunks supporting "jack & jill" basins, watchful taxidermy wandering among branches and antlers! Lined and towels good quality and pleasing simple decor. A useful kitchenette, TV snug adjoining. We had continental breakfast which was delivered outside room each am. We would certainly choose this as a place to stay again in Spa.
Cons: No real complaints, the only suggestion would be (and i think this work is in progress, with the bathroom being so new), robe/towel hooks or method to dry towels, shelf space for toiletries. Maybe an extra outside light by staircase/car parking area useful but light as is was adequate for us. The bit we didnt like was leaving to come home!
6.0 Good
Pros: very nice authentic 19th century castle-like rooms
Cons: Hotel not finished. Garden is still a dump. no breakfast available.
Hotel La Villa des Fleurs - Spa - Building

Pros: Lovely room - spacious and clean and well located for exploring the town. Staff are very gracious and keen to help.
Cons: It’s not easy to find or navigate the narrow entrance to the car park.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a historical building. The room was bigger than I had thought, and bathroom was modern. Nice backyard with sunbeds and a small terrace bar. Excellent location just next to the centre of Spa and access to the funicular going up to Thermal Spa.
Cons: My room on the 1st floor was located just next to the stairs going down to the lobby and reception. When I was in my room, I was able to hear every conversation from the lobby. Fortunately it was quiet during night-time, but I'd still replace the door of the room with a soundproofed one, or build a double door etc. This problem exists just with this particular room, the other rooms were located further away from the stairs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was beautifully decorated and the location was perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Classy, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff
9.2 Excellent

Pros: From the moment you walked in, to the time you departed you felt very wellcombe. It's a lovley building with history. Small enough to care, big enough to cope. It's well positioned in town with a good choice of bars and restaurants.
Cons: Two things that could be inproved on were, a firm surface for parking motorcycles. As one of a group motorcyclist, this was a small niggle. We did have some issues with the door keys. It's a lovely old building but could benefit with a/c.
7.3 Good
Pros: Nice location with lots of charm. Beautiful, clean rooms. Very quiet.
Cons: Buffet breakfast was ok, but there could've been more choice.

Cons: Rooms 16 & 26 wrap around lift shaft. Lighting to room could have been better. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.00, which is too late.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anja is the perfect hostess. She makes you feel so at home. It was fantastic to have facilities to make our own braai (barbeque) and not go out to restaurants every night. They are positioned so close to everything. She even made English breakfast for my husband who is on a Banting eating plan although she offers continental breakfast. Thank you Anja we enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Very helpful, clean & tidy. Good breakfast. Lovely veranda to sit out on in evenings. Brilliant location for circuit, only 5 mins away.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous little B&B!!! What really made our stay was the owner Anja... She was excellent. Awesome breakfast and plenty of it, very important when you have a mammoth apertite like mine...
Cons: Coffee machine in the room would of been nice as you had to go outside the room door to a shared kitchenette. Breakfast was served right outside our room door and it was a little too cosy sharing the one table with the people upstairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, privacy, nice bed and own kitchenette.
Cons: Maybe additional toiletries, per guest.

Hotel La Crémaillère - Spa - Building
9
8.8 Excellent (319 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hotel La crémaillère is located at Jalhay a small Ardennes village on the foot of the fagnes. It is not far away from the 'Baraque Michel' and 'Signal de Botrange' (this is the highest top of Belgium (700m)). Jalhay is not far away from Spa, also called 'the pearl of the Ardennes'. This pearl is famous because of his health baths. With 15 km of francorchamps and its racing set and to 12 km of the town of Spa. We propose to you a hotel of charm with 8 suits and comfort.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the food was fantastic, but be prepared for a "French" only language menu in the hotel. The salads were exquisite with fresh berries, tomato's, greens, duck, etc., etc. The hotel is located in the middle of "hiking central". You can take one of the walks from the center of town or travel 5-10 clicks to one of the parks in the region. In town, there's a grocery so you can supplement your drink and snack desires. Almost across the street is a pizza restaurant that has mixed reviews but we found the food quality very good and the prices were cheaper than the hotel restaurant. It was nice to have a separated sitting area too. Lastly, the person at the morning breakfast (included) was super nice and had all the tables set with starters. Cheese and meat were delivered to the table as part of breakfast and we asked if a soft boiled egg was included and she made that happen too.
Cons: The room was fairly warm (it's August) and there's no air conditioning. A fan would have helped. By morning it was cool and you needed a sheet to cover you. The beds were not as comfortable as we expected. My spouse's bed was too hard and my bed leaned to the left everywhere so it felt like I was rolling out of bed. The second floor rooms are accessed by a tiny set of stairs that were circular so it was difficult to carry luggage upstairs. If possible, only take the minimum amount you need if you have a second floor room.
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfy beds and service very friendy. Restaurant food very good
Cons: Room furniture dated, although the beds are very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast of fresh breads was fantastic. Everyone at the property was really nice. The hotel is close to a lot of hiking locations. We were allowed to stay with a pet at a small extra fee.
Cons: There was something making noise in the couch area of the room, you could still hear it in the bedroom.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large room. Very well appointed bathroom. Comfortable beds. Good sea in the living area. TV with DVD player.
Cons: Could have done with a larger TV and more milk for the coffee. Other than that excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed Felt like staying in a little house Breakfast was delicious Very close to other places of interest such as Spa
Cons: N/a
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, relaxed atmosphere The whole town is pleasant The breakfast was the same every day, and very sweet, but the lady was very happy to prepare tasty eggs, etc. Comfortable parking Dog and cat are running around the hotel :-)
Cons: Very fluctuating or rather weak wifi signal Not very comfortable double bed The hotel does not sort waste The staff spoke only French. Also the restaurant menu was French
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, style and helpfulness of staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! Uppermost the kindness, helpfulness and flexibility. Thank you for making me breakfast the evening before so I could leave early in the morning.

Cons: everything was OOOK
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful location, but the room was comfy and the owners wonderful. The back garden is a wonderful place for a cup of tea
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice old chateau of 1850. Close to centre of Spa and near restaurants and bars. Great host willing to please. Breakfast set us up for the day no problem.
Cons: Shared facilities of shower and toilet were no problem. But just be aware that to reach the toilet (at least from our room) you have to either ascend or descend the stairs which could be tricky for some. Also, and this is not a criticism of the hotel, there is a steep hill up to it from the town. Again, maybe difficult for some.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a very pleasant experience, we stayed in a beautiful room very well decorated, wooden and cosy style. The owner was very friendly and it felt like being home. We will definitely come back!
Cons: I liked it all!

Cons: Worn bed Confort does not conform to what is expected of such a luxury hotel. Manager does not show up.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed trement at reception
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location and beautifully clean and comfortable.
Cons: Just a small detail that there could have been more choice of hot food at breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: I am a returning customer, I go yearly to that hotel to visit family. The hotel has direct access to "les thermes de Spa", a nice facility to go swim/relax for a couple of hours. The little town around the hotel is very pretty and safe to walk around. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and excellent.
Cons: I have stayed at this hotel every year for over 5 years. This year I was disappointed with my room, the beds are now single beds pushed together to make a bigger bed and the mattresses are not comfortable. In the past, the rooms has 2 full size beds with comfortable mattresses. I was told the rooms had been renovated, it's shame they didn't spend a bit more money in better mattresses! Also I am a member of the Radisson chain and my membership number couldn't be found in the computer! I had to call an 800 number to give that information and still didn't get the bottles water I was entitled to get...that was disappointing. The food in the restaurant is also a bit overpriced.
5.8 Okay
Pros: A usual 4 star hotel, nothing special.
Cons: The hotel underground parking is NOT free for customers. The stuff did not told me that upon check-in. It was very unpleasant surprise for me to pay 56 euro extra for parking at the checkout!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect
Cons: We enjoyed our sejour a lot and there is nothing we dislike. For improvement, variety of warm food for breakfast could be more.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, even though in centre the hotel was quiet at all times. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Staff were very informative and helpful, rooms were light and of a decent size, bed was very comfy. Unfortunately as we were there for an event didn't get to experience all the hotel had to offer.
Cons: Service in restaurant was not the best we have experienced and although adequate felt the meals could have been better but we only had one dinner there so not able to judge too much. Very narrow lane into car park if car is slightly larger so be careful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Very clean and tidy. Well done to the cleaning stuff. Receptionists very friendly. The food in the restaurant was good as well. Access to the spa was easy and was a great experience

Pros: Upgrade to a suite with balcony overlooking the town. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff is excellent, particularly on checking in and out.
Cons: Parking nearby is difficult and garage parking is pricey.

Pros: bike locker was realy bad, shady and dirty: not practical at all. The carpet in the hallways and stairs need replaced. 7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely premium hotel 5 minutes drive from the centre ,
Cons: Service in the restaurant was appalling, booked table when we arrived at 6pm for 8pm sitting , went to restaurant at 7.50 and was seated , myself and my wife sat at the table for 30 minutes with not even a “would you like a drink” we left after 30 minutes and drove into spa for a lovely meal , shocking service from this hotel, and this was part of my wife’s 50th birthday present , would I stop again ? NO CHANCE

7.9 Good
Pros: Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Great biking location
Cons: Toilet door see through. Quite expensive and not enough parking places for all hotel/restaurant guests. For the money paid, would be better to be able to reserve parking spot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s very calm, clean, nice ambience etc.
Cons: The location is very secluded. No option to go out to nearby shops or Resturant by walk.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was nice and open early (6AM) which was convenient. Restaurant was reasonable, meat overcooked, but friendly staff overall. Located 15min from the race track.
Cons: I really hate those matress savers (matress wrapped in rubber/plastic so it doesn't stain) they use on my matress, since it will not ventilate anymore. Bad experience. Futhermore the aircon was off but every half hour it switched itself on and ran for 10 sec, waking me up almost every time. Lastly, the gym was quite poorly fitted- though the machines that were there (4) are of good quality.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet area, good for walks, nearby a nice lake and the “ Thermes of Spa” (5 min. By car) and 15 minutes by car from the centre of the town of Spa. We also had facilities for the parking of our car. The staff at the reception was very helpful and answered all our queries about places to visit or other activities. We also benefitted of an upgrading of our standard room and received instead a superior room for the same rate. The buffet for the breakfast was very good.

Pros: Motel arrangement within a little courtyard. Very nice layout. A short walk from centre.

Cons: The cellphone reception was very poor in the valley. Iphone maps did not find the accurate location, but a sign at the road showed the way.

Pros: We liked the breakfast. At most hotels the breakfast is self-service but here we were waited on which made a lovely change. The boiled egg was the best I had had all holiday out of all the 13 different hotels I had stayed in.
Cons: The problem was we arrived too late to have the dinner. The lady did seem a bit cross with us (we did explain we had had trouble on the motorway). She made it seem that it would be much more difficult to get a meal than in fact it turned out to be.

But this is just a back side of country life ;)
