No car!NothingThe reserved and prepaid convertible was not there, and they had no standard vehicles to move to. They offered a "similar" Cadillac SUV, but since the convertible was for beach cruising, that is not similar. They saw we paid for a convertible, but they had nothing for us. We canceled the entire reservation and booked elsewhere. For half the cost.

Debit Card Policy changed againI couldn't even pick up my car. Kayak did not notify me that I'd need a credit card, even though it was prepaid for on my debit card. I tried transferring my rental to a Hertz that would take a Debit card, as I was told to do, but no other store had an SUV, neither did it look like I could use a debit card. America is going debt free, rental companies, and that means there are a lot of people out there choosing to forgo credit cards. You're losing a lot of customers by not making this work.

hertz scamnext to nothinga very long line for pickup as hertz did not have the promised cars available. caused me to have to hurry to appointment once i was given papers. no-one available in the lot to record problems (damage to front RIGHT bumper). accused of incurring damage that was preexisting upon my return. (amazingly, a traveling companion had the exact same experience (except LEFT front bumper) with the same type of car on the same drop off day.

OverchargedThe car was great; pick up took longer than expected but drop off was easy and quickThe price I was quoted online was much, much less than what I was ultimately charged (quoted $70, charged $170). Then they charged me for what I'd pre-paid upon reservation! Extremely displeased. Will never use them again.

Pick upThe counter stuff was extremely friendly and nice.Going out to pick up the car was a little confusing. And they just handed me the key and sent me on my way. They didn't walk around the car to point out the already there damage (as there was quite a bit) and that worries me as I better not be charged for damage that was already on the vehicle prior to me getting it.

The location for the Hertz rental car location is great in Savannah.The first car had been smoked in, we had to return to the counter inside, stand in line again and finally got another car.

DirtyThe backseat had something sticky that had been spilled all over it. The windshield wipers barely worked. There was no wiper fluid is the tank so we had to stop to purchase some. We filled it up and it still would not work. We were traveling in snow so this made it very difficult to see at times. Who checks these cars before you rent them out?? This one clearly was not inspected.

It was an older car with more mileage than I expected. There was a gatorade bottle (plastic) under the driver's seat. Also, the "maintenance needed" light came on the dash with another 500 miles to go which was a bit unsettling.
