Pros: I liked selecting and booking my rental through the online services.
Cons: I did not like that I could not make changes or that customer service stated they could not make changes and I had to call Fox or Priceline to make changes to the purchase. This could have been avoided if there was an option for the consumer to cancel or make changes just as easy as it is to the purchase.

Cons: The vehicle was dirty and clearly had not been cleaned much less sanitized. The car was not in good condition and sounded/felt like the tires were going to fall off at any minute. I tried to call customer service but couldn’t get through so I sent an email from their website and still haven’t received a reply after 7 days. Worst car rental company. Not worth it. You get what you pay for.

Pros: Nothing. We spent 2 hours waiting in line at the car rental place waiting for our car. When I asked the gentlemen if this was typical, I advised me that I should call another rental company that charges more if I want better service.
Cons: Stop undercutting your competition and then thinking that 3-4 people on staff will be able to handle 100 people coming in at once. Your company is a joke.

Cons: Car absolutely reeked of cigarettes. This was actually the second car as the first was even worse somehow. Fox needs to enforce the smoking penalties.

Pros: The vehicle was clean and in great condition. Suited our needs just fine for our trip.
Cons: The sales representative who checked me in tried to upcharge me over $350 with a damage waiver that was unnecessary for my level of auto insurance. This upcharge also included over $70 in pre-paid gas fees. She never offered the OPTION for me to have pre-paid for a full tank, a half tank or NOT pre-pay gas. She just told me, “Don’t fill the gas tank before you return it. Our prices are cheaper than the surrounding area by 30¢.” Fox gas prices were NOT cheaper by the way. I tried to state my case to the representatives I returned the keys to, but they only said that I “could take the car back out now and fill it, bring them the receipt, and they could refund the full $70+ fee.” I had a plane to catch, so that obviously wasn’t going to work. Nobody was even willing to hear my side of the check in story and offer a resolution. Not a good experience with representatives.

Friendly/knowledgeable easy to deal with staff. The vehicle was brand new and could have been set up, navigation, door locks, radio. Navigation didn’t work, radio sound and stations had to be set to be user friendly. Overall I had a very good experience with Alamo

The first car we received (Chevy Trax) was an underpowered car that had poor handling. After driving for a day it developed a slow tire leak that required adding air every day or two. The Alamo roadside assistance people we spoke with were all very helpful. We were in a remote location near the grand canyon north rim and they dispatched a new car from Las Vegas over 100 miles away within 24 hrs. The new car worked perfectly (Ford Escape), drove very well, and had no mechanical issues. When we returned the car at the Phoenix airport, the person we spoke with asked us how the rental was and we explained the issue and how Alamo helped us get a replacement car. Without asking, she gave us a substantial discount on the rental cost because of the car trouble which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Overall, the customer service and roadside assistance people were all nice and very helpful. The one problem was that the communication between the roadside assistance people could be better. For example, when we talked with one person and they went off shift, we had to go through the whole story again with the next person that took over the case. Also, the tow truck driver who brought the new car (who was very nice) hadn't been brought up to speed on the case and didnt know that we were going to be away from the car when he brought the replacement car. It all worked out though and we were impressed by Alamo's customer service and very happy with the replacement car.

I didnt get to rent this car because flight was delayed, and this business closes at noon on Saturdays. I should have had a normal car for $165, instead I landed at 4pm saturday 3/18/23 and had to rent some crazy contraption of Turo, because the only alternative was to rent same car from Enterprise at the airport for almost $785. So I toured Arizona in a 2 seat turbo convertible owned by some guy with about as much trunk storage as a glovebox in a normal car. I mean there wasnt so much as a map pocket or a drink holder. I dont know who I am more pissed at Enterprise for staffing their offices so lightly or Frontier airlines for randomly rescheduling flight times, but you both suck.

The Sixt experience was perfect--except for the car I rented. The agent offered me an upgrade from a Toyota Camry to a BMW for a minimal increase in payment. Never having driven a BMW, I agreed. But the car was a low-slung sporty model, and getting in and out of the car was very challenging! It handled magnificently in every way, but its comfort level was lacking. I wish the agent had informed me of this particular feature--and I would've stayed with the Camry. I'll know for next time...

Don't book with SIXT if there's even a 1% chance you'll need to cancel. It was the most infuriating process ever to cancel. Their website (there's absolutely no human to talk to) kept saying I needed to go through kayak to cancel. Kayak's website (also no human) says you have to go through SIXT. Neither was taking responsibility. After 8 emails SIXT finally cancelled it, which showed they were indeed the ones able to cancel it!!! Took way too much time. Don't recommend.

We rented Sixt, through Kayak, and had an impossible time cancelling the reservation. We called, we sent emails, we tried to cancel through their website. Kayak indicates that any cancellation is through Sixt. Sixt makes the cancellation virtually impossible. We had a health related cancellation and we emailed the line, and got back an auto-response. We called and got sent to the email (which had the auto response). We tried to cancel use their cancel button, but it did not recognize the reservation. Then, we got billed, so now we have to dispute the charge through our credit card. It's not worth the hassle to rent through Sixt.

Pros: Completing the rental process with their representatives was easy and they were courteous. The vehicle was ready and clean for us, it took us less than 20 minutes to get out of there.
Cons: Tried to sell us (upgrade) everything, you already got us to pay a large amount of money, don’t try to get your hands on my wallet again. Either upgrade us for don’t mention a nicer car to intrigue us and remind us we’re renting a less than luxurious car.

Pros: The car was in new condition as was nicer than expected. It was convenient to just drop the car off with the keys inside.
Cons: Drop off was a little confusing and they had a lot of people dropping off and only a few employees. However, I did get to just drop it off and go.

Cons: The price ended up being twice what was advertised on Kayak. The agent at the counter charged my card and finished out my ticket before even explaining the charges. When I asked about them, he was unable to satisfactorily explain them. I felt like my questions weren't important and the agent wasn't prepared to answer them.

Cons: After flying across the country (Syracuse to Phoenix) we arrived to pick up our car and was told they didn't have any and that it could take a few hours to get. The first gentleman was very nice and apologized. He even suggested we check with their competitors. We did, with no luck, so went back to Dollar and the second man was rude and showed no interest in helping us. With no other options, we went down to check in and wait. Luckily, it wasn't long before a car became available. My issue was that I made this reservation months in advance. Dollar should be ready to accommodate those reservations even if that means going to another one of their locations and picking cars up.

Pros: Everything was as it can be expected. Low mileage car, practically new. Friendly customer service even at the late time of pick-up.
Cons: No car as pre-ordered was available, rental was then covered by a different but associated rental company, in our case Thrifty. Available car was the bare-bone basic model.

Pros: We liked that we were able to pick it up in PHX and leave it at LAS. The car was clean and very efficient on gas.
Cons: Not just this one but ALL car rental places try to sell extra insurance for when the car would be out of service in case of an accident. Why not just charge more and stop this ridiculous practice? . Most people have insurance or credit cards that cover in case of accident.

huge price increase from quote
Pros: The Nissan car we ended up with was clean, comfortable, and a smooth ride.
Cons: The quote I received from Kayak was $179 for a 2 week rental. The nominal rate was $29.98 per week. When I checked in, with tax & fees the quote was approximately $250. When I said I wanted my spouse as an extra driver, they added $13.50 per day plus tax & fees. I was expecting to get a rental for $179. It ended up costing me $467. Furthermore, when I arrived I was given 3 cars to choose from. I picked out a Ford Focus. I loaded all my luggage & began to drive toward the exit. The car hesitated & stalled when I accelerated, so I returned & selected a different car. I placed the keys of the Focus on the dashboard, where they were when I found them. I popped the trunk, stepped out of the car, and closed the drivers door. To my dismay, the doors were locked. I had not pushed the door lock button. I returned to the booth & explained the problem & waited a half hour while a staff person finally arrived and extracted the keys so I could get my backpack out of the back seat. Not a pleasant start to my trip.

Wish I could of had car upon arrival
Pros: My rental with dollar did not follow me from San Antonio Texas to Phoenix! When I made it through the 45 minute line with 2 suitcases and wearing a back brace and walking shoe I was told my reservations was not completed when I dropped my car off at San Antonio location! I was stuck in airport 5 hours until I could secure ride to sun city, then had to come in next day to get a car! That was a nightmare! The car and staff were great, other than the Phoenix counter staff upon my arrival, all was pleasant and I believe I will be a return customer.

Pick up was very friendly and efficient. Drop off was confusing. No directions by signage or communicative personnel. We were steered wrong at drop off requiring extra steps and unnecessary waits in line. Car was not cleaned properly, even to the point of empty soda bottles in back seat. Windshield wipers were completely absent. So glad it did not rain more than one out of seven days! We would have told a staff member IF a human was available to report to.

There was confusion about where the pickup and drop off were. I asked kayak for airport locations, but we actually got pickup/dropoff locations a few miles away from the airport. Wasn't a big deal, just a couple uber rides and the price was 50% below what we would have paid at the airport...just wish communication was clearer. They didn't have the car we paid for at the Phoenix pickup, so we exchanged a few days later. It was all worth it cuz the price was right.

I like when I signed for the vehicle I wanted, I only had to go to the slot of where the vehicle was parked, it was very easy and simple to be able to find the vehicle and just drive out, rather than just to line up again to wait until an attendant gets the vehicle for you after lining up to sign for the vehicle, which was approximately 35 mins wait.

Pros: The gentleman that checked us in was very nice, check out was smooth and quick
Cons: The line was extremely long, 2 member behind the counter for at least 20 people waiting. There was another employee there not helping customers check in. I'm not exactly sure what she was doing. Once a 3rd member came to the counter things moved much faster.

Pros: At the car pick up place I noticed that the mystery vehicle I was rented seated 7 passengrs, way too big for me, one person. The car check out person did exchange the vehicle for a small sedan which was perfect. All vehicles were new, clean, and this part of the rental was easy.
Cons: I waited in line for a full hour, standing in line with thirty other people, to get to the counter to rent my vehicle. This was inexcusable. There were two customer service people behind the counter and it took about 10 full minutes per person to check out a car. This was after several hours of travel and I was anxious to get out of the airport and to my condo in the Phoenix area. Incidentally, my check out person had a cold and kept wiping his nose with his hand. Am wondering if he was contagious. You really need to hire more Advantage/E-Z Rental customer service agents to service the renters. Everyone in line was complaining about the wait and I did mention it to my agent who basically did not reply.

Pros: Car was new and nice. Price was competitive.
Cons: After a long flight the last thing you want to do is wait for a car. We had to wait in line for about 45 minutes and they ran out of cars right after we got ours. Can you imagine landing, waiting in line for 45 minutes and then being told, sorry, I know you have a reservation but we can't honor it. That happened to about twenty people that I saw.

Pros: I liked the vehicle (Toyota Carola) and the gas mileage. However, i seldom rent a car and therefore would have liked someone to escort me to the vehicle and show me where things are on the dash etc. I couldn't open the trunk with the key button and didn't see the lever inside as it was too dark etc. I also had to haul my heavy suitcase into the trunk once I got it open by asking a passerby. That i would call poor customer service.!!!!
Cons: the wait at the counter was horrible!! One and a half hour from entering the line to exiting the lot. If you have the lowest prices then you should expect long lines and have enough people at the 7 terminals to facilitate the crowd. when I entered there were at least 16 people in front of me and only 2 clerks at the counter!!!!! This is unexceptable!!

Ran out of cars despite reservation. Bait and switch.
Pros: Thought the reservation price was great, except it did not materialize.
Cons: We arrived at airport and counter was closed. Evidently they ran out of cars (despite a reservation made 2 months prior). Traveling at night with young children in tow we were directed to Dollar and were able to get a full size car at a rate $200 MORE than the rate on reservation. Rep from Dollar said this happens often. DO NOT reserve with them unless you want a hassle.

We reserved a premium SUV WELL IN ADVANCE. Budget did not have a vehicle in our class. They tried to downgrade us to a smaller SUV or a pickup truck, both impractical and did not have the space we needed. We had to fight in order to get an SUV one size up. The agent did not listen to us and was not polite or easy to work with, and we had to keep arguing why what he was offering did not meet our needs. It was a very unpleasant experience and started off our vacation poorly. Will never again rent from Budget.

The lines at the pick-up facility in PHX were very long. Took an hour to see an agent. More staff was brought in to assist which made the lines move faster. Once in the garage there was another line to be assigned a car, another 30 minutes. Staff in garage was obviously working as fast as they could and overwhelmed. I ordered a standard car the attendant offered a small Honda and said that was a standard option. When I mentioned the car was to be similar to a VW Pasat she said that was, She was done with me at that point and said I could "Just wait in line again for another car option". I was then offered approached by another staff member and was offered a truck and was taken to one that already had a guest in it. I was then taken to another section of the garage and choose a Volvo. I felt sorry for the attendants as they trying their best with a crazy busy situation.

Since I picked up my car just before the Superbowl-Event it was very busy. So I got a visibly damaged Ford Mustang. That´s not good for a "show-car" :( I rented the car via Budget but it was placed in the AVIS area. So it was way hard to find. Return was easy.

Line at the rental car agency was 30 plus minutes to pick up my car. Then when I got to the parking area to pick it up that was 15 minutes as well. Need more staff and support in these areas. Car was clean and comfortable. Thanks.

No one working at the counter or any signs saying to go anywhere different. Called Payless and they said to check outside for their employees they are probably smoking! After 30 minutes no one returned. Went to the car area and a worker said “ just go to the Avis counter . Asked to speak to a manager and was promptly hung up on by Payless customer service! Won’t rent from Payless ever again.

The check-in process was terrible. The line did not move for 20 min with one lady behind the desk. A gentleman came out and the line zipped through but still took 40 min for 5 people in line. Then went to the number where car was supposed to be and the car was missing. Had to wait in another line for 10 min to reassign us another car. Drop off was very easy.

A fairly long wait to get helped at check in- then they had to substitute cars. Not sure that we got the FULL size that we really needed for 5 people to be comfortable but we made it work. Drop off was very disorganized. There was only 1 employee there and we had no idea what we were supposed to do. Finally someone said just leave the keys in the car and then you can get out. No one came to look at the car or check it in. We did not know if we were supposed to leave or not. No signage either.

There staff was rude and disrespectful and after waiting in line for an HOUR to get my rental that I had reserved online I was told they would not rent me a car. Ridiculous! I had an awful time with the 949 W Camelback Rd Phoenixaz, Phoenix, AZ 85013 location. My flight was delayed so I was unable to pick up my car before the locations closing. So I called customer service the morning after, was told they would hold the car for 24 hours. I arrived at the location, they said that customer service is wrong and that they will not hold the car for more than 2 hours. So they gave my car to someone else and said they had no other cars that they could offer me. I called customer service again, they started by saying that this location had cars to rent and should hold the car for 24 hours. After some back and forth, they figured out that they actually had no cars to rent out in the entire city. Then they proceeded to tell me I can get a refund if I cancel an hour before, which is obviously too late and not helpful information at this point. I asked them what can they do for me as I prepaid, and would be leaving without a car. After some time on hold, the associate said that they would give me a full refund on my reservation and I would get it in 7-10 business days, as well as an email receipt confirmation. This was 4 days ago, I have not received an email confirmation, and am currently unsure if I am still getting this refund. I ended up spending over $200 in Ubers for the weekend, more than what I was spending on the rental car. I reached out to their customer service again, I pray that I actually get this refund.

Made a reservation and when we arrived to the hertz rental place which was 20mins from the airport (which we ubered to) they didn’t have a vehicle for us. The lady at the front desk said she tried calling us but never left a voicemail. I missed the call because i was just landing from my flight. I tired calling serval times but no know ever answered. The staff member was very unapologetic about the situation and didn’t offer any help, knowing we were tourist and weren’t familiar with the area. We eventually ubered to another rental place, Avis/ Budget 10mins down the road, where they were very accommodating evening without a reservation.

This Hertz location is incredibly awful. There are approximately 3 people working behind the counter but only one would take care of the over 8 customers waiting to be helped. The others seemingly had other things they were doing but never said what those things were. The manager was not made available when we requested to speak with him and we waited over an hour to get into our car after arriving at the agency. The car was only charged to 80% when we arrived and we weren't provided with the adapters necessary to make our charging experience better. Overall would never recommend someone use this dealership

I never got the car. My taxi to the depot arrived late so I arrived a few minutes after official closing time. The staff locked the door when they saw me coming and just sat there chatting, ignoring me while I knocked on the door. Hertz took my money and left me a stranded traveller in the suburbs of an unfamiliar city at night.

Every National employee we encountered was friendly, warm, helpful and understanding -- which was all very appreciated considering the travel-related stress we'd been under the day we had to rent a vehicle to get home. That said, $300+ for a one-night one-way rental felt a bit exploitative when so many people were stranded by airlines during the holiday travel weeks.

With National membership it was nice to skip the rental desk and just pick an available car. The problem was that they didn't have the car type that we reserved, so we were told to just pick any car in the Emerald Aisle. I had to call National twice after rental completed because they severely overcharged us vs. the agreement/reservation we had made.

Cons: The lighting was so bad in the underground pick-up "choose a car" area that I felt I was choosing a car by braille. As it happened, I chose a vehicle with damage to the bumper area--which was not stated in my copy of the rental agreement. When I turned the car back in they said that I would be charged for it unless their cameras recorded the pre-existing damage. What a relief to eventually be proven "not guilty"!

MISLEADING

Car was great. I needed a minivan to transport some boxes and a bicycle to San Francisco, and reserved and paid for one. When I arrived at the Phoenix office, the agent offered a Dodge Durango SUV as just as good. It would not be just as good for my purposes, as it had 60 cubic feet less in cargo capacity. Fortunately, someone returned a Caravan and we were able to rent it just as planned. To the agent's credit, she didn't insist on the Durango once we declined it. The Caravan worked great, although it did give us a low tire pressure warning when the tires were cold that was concerning. We were able to accomplish the trip and enjoyed driving it.

Per the website, you take a shuttle from PHX. It is missed information. You take the train then the shuttle after a walk. Logistics are not great. Even though I returned my car one hour late (per contract $15 per hour) they charged me $212 late fee! My rental was $82 per Day! I called customer service to resolve the matter but wasn’t helped. I will never rent from NU Can again. The company will not last. You can’t treat customers like this and expect to remain in business.

Pick up was horrible. Waited for more than an hour at the counter. The agent was abrupt and rude! Our car was not available. This is our second experience with NU and probably the last one!

The price comparatively was okay. The drop off of the vehicle was simple. The reservation summary had inaccurate instructions for finding shuttle for off airport pickup of vehicle. It took asking an airport staffer how to find the shuttle after looking around for the. The signs were not with other car rental agencies so were not noticed. It took going to three floors and 4 building employees to find where to obtain the shuttle to the rental agency. Though the car had been prepaid it took 30 to 40 minutes of waiting in line to reach a representative who then instructed me to initial 8 lines which had within it initialing to pay for insurance that I would never agreed to if I was not so frustrated with the delay to pick up the car. Once thorough this time consuming process it took another 20 to 30 minutes of waiting before a vehicle was brought to me to use. UGH UGH UGH! What a time waste. I have never had a less efficient car rental process experience. The return process was time efficient.

This rental location is deceptively listed on your site at PHX airport. It is not, it's 4 miles offsite and obviously misleading to travelers that don't want the additional inconvenience. NU Car issued us a damaged vehicle with no option for a replacement. The driver side rear tail light was broken out, making the vehicle less safe and open to a moving violation. Then, when we requested a three hour extension, were quoted $745. More then double our total three day rental rate. NU Car negatively impacted our weekend vacation. I and our company, will Never use NU Car again.

Nucar rentals closes at 7pm. My flight was delayed and wasn’t able to get the car I had paid to use so we ended up going through one of normal rental car companies which all of them had agents on duty, were open and our car wasn’t priced any higher than at Nucar! Never will I ever go there again! Looking to get a refund…wish me luck

Over the top service and excellent vehicle choice.
Pros: We somehow got a special price on this rental, that being said, the service from staff, pick up, drop off and shuttle to and from the air were all first class. Very high tech coordination with the car unlocking when we got to the rental center. Included were satellite radio, navigation and surprisingly gas mileage over 40 mpg on the highway. This is a great rental opportunity for many.
Cons: There was the fact that the car was an Audi Quattro, so smaller than I would normally rent, compared to my Ford Edge, but I cannot complain about anything.

Great rental experience
Pros: They picked us up at the rental island, took us to Silvercar headquarters and off we went in a very clean Audi. I will definitely use them again!

The rental pickup is fast without human interaction which may save money BUT the major problem is when the rental car has problem. My rental had a problem keeping the rear hatchback up which nearly caused serious injury to my body. There is nobody on the premise to complain and get a different safer car. Also the rental lot was seriously underlit making me nervous about security. I don’t think I will be using Carwiz again until these critical safety issues are resolved.

Cons: I did not clearly understand who the company is, what their name is and where they are located. I never received a confirmation from Kayak. I did not know the hours of operation. They were closed by the time I was able to figure out who and where they are located. I needed to rent from another company. Not a good experience.

Cons: Never got the rental van. Rental site wasn't at the rental center, so you have to call for a shuttle. Shuttle phone number was busy for 25 minutes. Had to rent from someone else.
