The location and process of getting to NU car was terrible. We had to take a shuttle to the rental car center and then wait an additional 30min in 100 degree heat for a second shuttle that was in poor condition. It was extremely inconvenient and time consuming both on the way there and the return. The vehicle size was also not as aspected. It was much smaller and did not have enough room for the number or passengers and bags that it claimed to hold.

I think Sky Harbor NU car is a little misunderstood. I believe they do a good job of making the best of a bad situation. Yes, their office is off-site from the airport car rental center. That information was made clear in the rental confirmation. We did have to walk to the pickup spot, but it wasn't that long and our wait for pickup to the office was less than ten minutes. Yes, the office is bare-bones and in a sketchy part of town, but we felt perfectly safe and the office was clean and set up to handle the extraordinary number of customers they move through there every day. Expect the representatives to move you through quickly, no banter or small talk. Sure they will try to upsell you on insurance, but don't all the rental companies do that? Our car was ready and waiting, and we did a walk-around while the representative took pictures of the vehicle from every angle, which were emailed to us. I liked that. Our car was a Nissan Versa with 35,000 miles, not great but it was clean and it ran just fine the entire trip. From the time we walked in the office door till the time we pulled off the lot was less than 20 minutes. Returning it took less than 10 minutes. Overall, our experience with NU car was way better than expected, based on all the negative reviews. My advice, do your homework, know what you're getting into, be patient and I think you'll find it's a pretty efficient and well-run operation.

Got me in quick, I had reservations for the WRONG day, but they helped me get a car quickly and I was on my way. Return was quick and easy too. It was expensive but I had made the mistake on the date and they got me transportation. Great guy at the counter

Things within their control were done very well. They need to do better on letting people know how to find them since they are off site.

Went to pick up the car at the car rental bldg. in phx airport, and they were not in there. You had to walk with your luggage about 1/4 mile only to wait for a shuttle from NU. After 25 minutes a car came to pick us up. Took us to some place in downtown phoenix. The service counter was the worst. Finally after an hour we got the car. OMG it was beat up, dented, and made a terrible noise. We unfortunately took it. It was dirty inside and out. One week later we had a flat tire due to scraping of the rim. Called to take it back and they gave us another car. Worst company on earth... You may save money but its not worth it.

Rental was good but location was inconvenient. We had to get a shuttle from the airport to the car rental terminal than get another shuttle from the rental terminal to Nu Car location. Allow at least an hour of waiting for shuttles. When dropping off the rental we just got a cab back to the airport

Had to take a shuttle from the airport terminal to car rental like normal. When I arrived at the car rental area I was informed I had to go make a 500yd walk out of the car rental center premises to wait for another shuttle. After 30 minutes of waiting a Nu Car Shuttle arrived to take us 10 minutes even further from the airport to the “rental center”. We stepped off the shuttle to a vacant building with temporary signage everywhere saying “Nu Car Rental”. I walked inside to find a building that resembled a cell phone store but 90% empty. Make shift desks were lined up and wires everywhere so they could have their phones and computers working. The pick up process took forever, like 15mins per person, causing us to lose another hour of our time. Thankfully there weren’t many people there. I know this has been mostly negative to this point but things were positive the rest of the way. Vehicle was fine, checked it over with the rep for damage before we left and they gave me peace of mind in terms of not getting screwed over that way. Drop off was a similarly easy experience… but still had to either wait 20mins for their shuttle which would require then another shuttle at the actual car rental place, opted for an Uber

Nu Car closes at 4pm in PHX and the pick up is NOT at rental facility like it states when renting, you have to take ground transport to their facilities but we couldn’t even do that since we arrived in PHX at 545 and they close at 4, what rental car company closes at 4? Had to walk up for my rental at another company and hoping one was available and in my budget.
