The hotel is very new and they are still working out some kinks, but the staff was very accommodating and professional. The kitchen stocked with basic cooking items and dishes was nice. The pool is small and the water and pool room were cold. A lot of the rooms have a great view of the mountains and city. The complementary breakfast has a nice selection of hot and cold items, and the seating area has booths with TVs, as well as tables and a counter area where you can plug in electronic devices and eat. The lobby is large and modern. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay!

Cons: There is not one negative thing I could say about this hotel. From staff to security to decor and food. NOw, I didn't have a car, so maybe parking is a bear, but I couldn't say. Location was great too. Can walk to everything downtown.

Cons: This hotel made me think of a roadside motel. The rooms are very small and cramped, the air conditioning is so noisy that getting a good nights sleep is next to impossible. The valet parking is ridiculously expensive at $33.
Find another hotel to really enjoy Phoenix, the jewel of Arizona’s crown!

Cons: We had a problem with our first room : 3cm gap around the balcony door which we didn't notice until returning to our room after dinner to find BBQ food smells permeating the whole room and audible traffic noise. They'd clearly tried to repair it but had failed. It was room 807. Thankfully there was an alternative room available so the kind staff moved us. This was 100% better, thank you!

Cons: Downtown Phoenix on a Sunday - not much going on. Didn't feel completely safe walking around. But, not many people in the States seem to walk, ever, so perhaps it's not a big issue for most.

Cons: You didn't say upfront when booking that the hotel was under renovation and the restaurant would also be affected. The menu wasn't robust and up to par as it was in prior years on the ground floor. I will say that the hotel staff did the best they could under the circumstances, My gripe is more about lack of information. No warning ahead of walking into the hotel and finding Check-in on the second floor. Our first room assignment after check-in was unbearable with noise from the floor above; requiring us to repack our bags and move to another room that was above the noise. It was still noisy, but not as bad as being under the jackhammer. For our next room, we actually got a recently renovated room on the 13th floor......smell of the new carpet and glue in the hallway still in the air. However, the room lacked two things. First, only one chair in the room. Yes, it is an accessible room, but with two beds in the room, you should have two chairs. We asked for another chair for the room during our stay, thinking that floors 6-12 being under construction, there should be plenty of extra chairs in the hotel; but it didn't come. You should not assume that the room will be occupied by a person in a wheelchair. Accessible rooms are also available for folks with knee problems and use a walker. They also would like a room chair for themselves along with a chair for their spouse or partner. Second small issue, everything was new in the bathroom of course, but no hook on the door to hang towels or clothes. Such a small inexpensive thing to add to the usefulness of the bathroom was missing after the room renovation. Love the hotel and location from prior trips. However, getting a room right under the renovation work sucked and having to repack our bags to move to another room away from the loud noise should have been unnecessary with better planning by management. Through it all, the hotel staff and valet personnel were great as usual.

Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, which honestly, wasn't assumed for a 2 star motel. WiFi worked well. Didn't have breakfast but coffee was better than expected. Appreciated the free parking.
Cons: With concerts happening across the street, parking was a challenge. We had room key issues, but staff was caring and helpful and resolved it as quickly as possible. Lack of outlets near the bed made plugging in a CPAP machine challenging.

Cons: The property is a little dated, and the rooms and bathroom very small. There was no way to control the A/C in the room and the shower head did not work properly in my room. There was not a refrigerator in the room and the bed was uncomfortable - a little too hard fo me. It was also a little unsettling that the fire alarm went off during the day. We all vacated the property. I’m happy there was no fire, but the staff did not know the reason for the alarm sounding.

Cons: For a hotel competing with other downtown locations, San Carlos needs to step up its game. It does not have individual room temperature controls, the bathrooms are absolutely tiny, the shower temperature can scold you at any moment, rooms are missing the customary refrigerator, there are no bell hops or luggage carts, the housekeepers are loud and use noisy walkie talkies that you can hear all over the hotel, and they simply need to hire more staff to attend to the guests.,

Cons: The beds had hair on the bed. The room we were in first smelled like cigarettes. I was able to move after waiting for 30 mins because the front office forgot about us, but in the other room the door was not able to close all the way. The noise next door was loud and I will not be staying there again.

The blow dryer didn’t work and the front desk gave me a replacement which was dusty. At the moment of plugging it in to the electric outlet it had a short and it broke. Curtains were dirty, carpet was dirty, furniture dusty, walls needed paint.

Cons: The toilet and phone chargers on the lamps did not work, even though my phone said it was charging (wall charger worked properly). The furniture was well worn and the desk chair had what looked to be construction dust on it. Shower was a little tricky but we figured it out.

Cons: Where do I start. My first impression in the door was that it smelled funky. The bed looked clean but it is the first time I've ever actively looked for bedbugs (felt like the ideal place for them). I didn't find any though and the bed was comfortable enough. But the chair in the room was disgusting and I did not realize until a couple of hours later that the bathroom was horrible. Behind the door there were clumps of someone else's hair and grime around the door stop. There was ugly water damage in multiple places. I didn't have any face cloths and the one hand towel was on the rack unfolded in a manner that suggested that it was used, not new. The shower did not work which I didn't realize until I was in it (and therefore too much of a hassle to get out, get dressed, repack and ask for a different room). There was only one heat setting: scalding. If I tried to lower the temperature the water turned off. So I had to wash my hair by leaning way back so that the water wouldn't touch my back and the rest of me I had to splash water onto because I would have had 3rd degree burns if I let it touch me directly. I tend to stay at the cheapest spots and I have a high tolerance for a lot of stuff but this room was filthy and dysfunctional. I went to the front desk but no one was there and I had to wait over ten minutes for someone to show. When she came back I told her the situation and she did say that she could move me but I had an early flight, I had already showered (though uncomfortably) and it was more hassle than it was worth. But there was no apology or concern over the fact that I practically burned myself. She disputed that the hand towel was used and generally gave off the impression that she just didn't care. That was the disappointing part. As I was leaving she asked for my room number as an afterthought, as though she didn't even mean to report it to maintenance.

Cons: They never fixed problems I complained about every day, some as easy as my lamp is broken. The white floor grout was black, bathroom door stained and dirty, My hair dryer went up in smoke, they did replace it.
