New Orleans hotels in Mid-City

Pros: Delitious breakfast, exeptionaly friendly and helpful manager, nice atmosphere

Pros: Beautiful B&B with easy access to Canal St., literally a 2-minute walk. The rooms, breakfast, and host were fantastic and we will definitely visit again.

Pros: Friendly, helpful hosts. The food was delicious. Very nice room in a lovely home.

Cons: It’s a bit out of the way from downtown area, but convenient to trolley line. Shower water temperature was hard to adjust, and very high bed was a bit difficult to climb into, but overall it was a lovely room.

Pros: The Host of the house Brent very friendly and witty and knowledgeable about the city and tours house and room was beautiful an bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious

Cons: Everything was great

Pros: Lovely home cooked breakfasts everyday and friendly staff. The location was perfect - seconds away from the streetcar but in a quiet area.

Pros: The property was amazing. What a beautiful old house. Brent was really good at his job and breakfast was excellent The antiques throughout the house were extremely interesting.

Cons: Not one thing.

Pros: Staying at O'Malley house was a refreshing change. While I'm definitely fond of my usual spot in the French Quarter it was lovely to see a different part of the city. O'Malley house is gorgeous and relaxing. Our hosts were amazing and, on top of a delicious daily breakfast, provided fantastic recommendations to local restaurants and bars. Walgreens is only a short walk away as well as the streetcar which will take you directly to the Quarter and Harrah's or the Garden District. Although there were 16 people in the house on the weekend I stayed, it was quiet and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend for a different experience in New Orleans!

Cons: I had no complaints other than if this is your '1st' time to New Orleans, you may want to stay in the Quarter. I have been to New Orleans many times and already knew where I wanted to go, but because I was in a new neighborhood, discovered many new spots as well.

Pros: The house itself, the staff, the breakfast, the location.

Cons: Parking.

Pros: Manager was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was delicious. They played great soft music in the common areas. The porch swing is relaxing.

Cons: The house keeper didn't refill our toilet paper or take out our bathroom trash.

Pros: This place is real inviting. It’s like staying with friends. Brent thanks! Super clean and great breakfast. This was the first time we took the street car only a couple blocks away to and from the super dome. Not having to fight the traffic after the huge win was nice. Who Dat!

Pros: The supplied (still have to pay) breakfast was good. The pool was also nice to have. Despite being far away from the major parts of New Orleans (Frenchman and Bourbon Streets), it is only a short street cart ride in to the area.

Cons: At times the showers were not that good, sometimes trouble with draining or water pressure.

Pros: The staff was amazing. I met so many different people from different backgrounds and they were all welcoming. The do a bar crawl every night and it's so awesome! This was my first time staying in a hostel and I would love to come back!

Cons: I litterally dont have anything negative to say.

Pros: Everyone was so friendly. We didnt eat there but liked the fact you could get home cooked breakfast and dinner if wanting to. Also liked the activities and you could be as involved as you wanted to. The place had a good vibe about it and people seemed pleasant. Peyton checked us in and out and even came to say hi in the street when she recognised us. That felt like a nice personal touch. Taj the cat was just the cutest. Broke my heart saying good bye to him.

Cons: I just wished there was more light in the bathroom but no big deal.

Pros: Great place! The pool was definitely the best part, necessary for hot and humid NOLA days. There was a large amount of communal areas and it was great to meet people. The place is setup as a collection of buildings, it's not just the one house you see in the photos. The hostel has quite a large capacity. The 24/7 reception was nice. A lot of events put on by the staff, including pub crawls and pool parties and daily suggestions of what to do in town. Tours can be booked for the swamp or plantations w/ pickup at the hostel. I found the location, while a bit out of the core area, to be conveniently located next to a street car line, which ran quite frequently and all night. Lockers were located near the entrance of my dorm and there was a security camera on them. The area was also safe and the hostel felt safe. The neighborhood was also home to some of the best restaurants I ate at, with many appearing on top ten lists for best BBQ, Gumbo, PoBoys, or Seafood Boil in NOLA.

Cons: I stayed during the office season so it wasn't full. I feel if it was full then it would not have had enough facilities. It would have been nice if the indoor communal area was a bit more air conditioned. Pub crawls tended to be local pubs, and would sometimes not even be to many places.

Cons: Horrible night staying there. Bathrooms dirty. Besides you have to share bathroom with everybody... Smell of the bedroom horrible... Hairs in the sheets... Poor light in the bedroom, the door doesn't close completely. Too much money to be sharing bathroom.! Plus. I didn't receive my refund. Only stayed one night. The other three nights try didn't return the money

Pros: I loved the staff more than anything about the hostel. Devon, Brent, Bailey, Lisa, vin, James, and mason were all amazing staff to me and my friend. Would definately recommend to anyone.

Pros: The staff is very welcoming...kind and friendly. I did not know who the staff was versus the people staying there. Everyone was friendly!!!

Pros: Is a great palce to stay if you want to relax and be a little away of the center of the French Quarter, but completely accesible via public transportation.

Pros: The staff was great, it was clean, the food was good, it was close to the street car which was great for going to Bourbon and Frenchmen. They had things planned just in case I didn't have my own plan. I'll be back and I'll be staying there every time!

Cons: The breakfast cook was not personable at all. I spoke twice and both times was not greeted back.

Cons: Walls like paper; VERY noisy (primarily in the early morning hours) from all sounds around both people inside the hostel, cars in the street and everything else. Wifi seemed somewhat poor in most places around the house

Pros: Number of bathrooms, location and neighbourhood of hostel. Possibility of early check in. Welcoming by Silas and information about city that he provided.

Cons: Condition of bathrooms. Breakfest was included as we checked out early and asked host about breakfest about breakfest he said that we should feel like at home, byt when we woke up we noticed that stuff was misplaced and locked in cupboard which was inassible for us.

Pros: I enjoyed that it was setup like a hostel. Community shower and restroom with a community kitchen. Also, I enjoyed that they offer ear plugs right at the front desk. So in case that you don't want to hear your neighbors then you can use them to get some beauty rest.

Cons: The air conditioning in there was not cooling very well and it was slightly I unclmfortingto have to wait to go to the restroom. Make sure you get up early to use it.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and the location wasn't bad. It wasn't in the main section of the city, but we are talking about a budget hostel. The location pretty safe and the trolley was easy to use. Also, the nearby library let's you print without being a card carrying member, which was helpful for us in printing our spirit tickets, since the hostel wouldn't do it after 4.

Cons: It's a cheap hostel, which is fine, but there seemed like a couple things were easy fixes the property wasn't doing, that could have made it feel cleaner, such a replacing the rusted shower rod or rusted light fixture above the sink.

Pros: Very friendly staff and nice waffles for breakfast!

Pros: Location was great, right near a streetcar stop, so travel around the area was super cheap with three dollar day pass. Surrounded by great restaurants pubs and close to really good markets its so convenient. However the greatest plus for this place is its amazingly friendly and helpful staff of Josh, Nadia and Silas. All great, I wasn’t real well at the time and they were so supportive, Nadia drove me to hospital. Great people good place to stay. Also heaps of bathrooms and washrooms even when the hostel was full.

Pros: Nothing didn't have a refrigerator ,microwave, or ac. Had to use a fan

Cons: If you do not get placed in one of the remodeled rooms and they put you in an outside room they are horrible filthy air conditioning barely works there are crack heads and hookers wondering around outside. The elevator is falling apart and went up half a floor open on me. Outside was also filthy with vending machines and an atm that worked when it wanted to. I had an outside room when i got there and it was atrocious. Luckily the lady at the front desk helped me get into a much better room. The remodeled room was huge and fairly clean. The bed was new and comfortable. I have still not recieved my deposit back .

Cons: No air conditioning when you got off the elevator on your floor. It was sweltering. No phone in the room. AC was horrible when you turned it on. It was so loud you couldn't hear each other talk.

Pros: I liked how easy and simple it is to book a room on booking.com and i liked how comfortable the beds were.

Cons: I usually read the reviews on booking.com but i was so busy trying to find a room i didnt have time to read up. This was last minute booking for sure. I basically wanted a room that was affordable and that was close to bourbon st. I NEVER had problems with booking.com but when i mean i should have read the reviews i should have. This motel was VERY DECEVING! As i walked in it was BEAUTIFUL...but i had to ring the bell at least 10x for someone to come service me. We did the paperwork, i received my key, grabbed my bags and went to my room. The elevator was so small seemed like my bags and i took majority of the space. The elevator also started shaking, for a second i thought it broke on me. Finally it gets me to the 2nd floor. I leave off the elevator to go to my room and the smell that was in the hallway was horrific! My door looked old fashioned and i had to slide my key in 3x for it to work. I walks in the light didnt work, my tv didnt work, the ac/heat control was like a light switch (to click the ac on you had to flick it up and to cut the heat on you had to flick it down). They had a LIVING ROACH in the tub and the tub seemed like it was surrounded with mold. When i ran the sink it got stopped up. Surprisingly i had a balcony so when i opened the drapes it FELL ON MY HEAD! I honestly felt like this was a dream. I never had such a bad experience in new orleans. I wouldnt RECOMMENDED this motel to ANYONE. Next time ill do my research and i hope they get these issues resolved.

Pros: I booked this hotel in 2013 and it was just ok... I took a chance again.... I was excited about the changes the new owners had done with the place.... and for the price it's a wonderful stay ...

Cons: Yes. The rooms were very unclean. Two towels with no floor towel for the bathroom is way too few. No washclothes. Ice machines didn't work. Shower had not been scrubbed in a very, very long time. Fire alarm was pulled twice one night.

Pros: The staff was so nice. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay near New Orleans on a budget.
