New Orleans hotels in Central City

Pros: We loved the location because it was easy parking an very close to garden district which was top of our list and lots of cool places to eat and drink, magazine street. And just a short streetcar ride to the French quarter and so much more. Also the staff was very helpful and everything was clean and very accommodating to our needs. I'll definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Cons: One tiny thing, my boyfriends bunk, top, was super squeaky. To the point if he moved a tiny bit it made noise making it hard for him to sleep and disturbed others.

Pros: Me an my wife went there for our honeymoon and we loved it. Great staff great location, breakfast was great as well. The room was just what we needed, it overlooked the pool which was amazing as well.

Pros: The breakfasts were very good (help yourself ... but lots of choice) and the outdoor area within the bed and breakfast ground was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room very nice and clean.

Cons: The area around the hotel was run down ... close to the Interstate highway. We had an inside room and did not hear the traffic noise, but had to walk under the highways to get to the French Quarter. The room was not well noise insulated and everyone that walked by the room sounded as if they were in the room ... bad when people walked by early in the morning with noisy shoes (heels on the wooden floor) and talked. When people were quiet walking by the room, it was really nice and quiet and a lovely place to stay.

Pros: Unique lodging in eclectic part of city near main attractions

Pros: The inn is decorated lovingly and in keeping with the style of the building.The inn has secure off road parking and the pool area is truely exceptional.The area is covered with tropical plants and a great deal of thought and effort has gone into its construction.The pool area is clothing optional which we enjoyed and so it seemed did all the other guests.A great location and central to everything no car needed.

Cons: our room and bathroom was clean and well made, however, the carpet had not been vaccumed-only on the left side of the bed and was still not vaccumed during our 3 night stay-even after requesting maid service-I just put down towels-carpet had grass and debris and king size bed had very worn spots were people had slept that had worn mattress down-Oh, there seemed to be only 2 tiny elevators that hardly fit you and your luggage-and housekeeping had to use same elevator-very inconvenient for them and guests.

Pros: I loved the room and the continental breakfast was great. I also like the location. It was close to so many attractions. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that the tile around the lower section of the bathroom was loose and some that were replaced were not replaced properly.

Cons: The previous occupants must of vomited on the floor near the bed it could’ve been cleaned a lot better since I almost stepped on someone else’s dry vomit. Other than that everything was great.

Pros: I like the location of the hotel. I was in close proximity to several well rated restaurants and sights.

Cons: There were several roaches found in the room. Noticed some stains on the bedding. The toilet was dirty. Checkout dates were mixed up so had a bit of difficulty trying to sort that out. Lastly, upon checking out I was charged for parking although I did not have a vehicle. It was eventually settled but a hassle to waste of time getting it taken vare of.

Cons: The grounds were trashy and the pool was gross. We often witnessed staff standing around talking and smoking. Staff would walk past trash on the ground, more than once, and never stopped to pick it up. The pool had a grease film on the surface of the water and a film on the tile edge. I brought the condition of the pool to the staff's attention and was told it would be cleaned that day, that never happened. The film on the tile easily scraped off with my thumb nail, I am sure a simple brushing would get the film off with little difficulty. If our roommate had showed himself on day one we would not have stayed at this location but the roach I found walking on the bedside table only joined us on our last day.

Cons: When we got to the room after checking in our hotel room door was open, the beds were a disaster, not made up in the least bit, trash in the trash cans & one... Yes ONE towel. No pillow cases at alllll the entire weekend even after requesting them numerous times. The only staff member worth anything was the security guard, super nice and very helpful, front desk lady was somewhat nice seemed too annoyed and not very helpful, took off the parking pass fee but I wasn't really interested in any of the other stuff... Security guard even told us that he tried to tell her to help us and all she said was "what you want me to do?!" When we told them the beds were not made or anything they just handed us one and a half sets of sheets and we had to strip and make out own beds... Not worth it, would rather pay the extra money next year for st patties weekend, very disappointing.

Cons: The customer service was very bad. I tried several times to reach the front desk without success. The wifi and cable were both out our entire stay. Parking was not included in the price as indicated. Valet service was not communicated with so we had issues getting our car several times. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Pros: There was a streetcar and bus stop right by the hotel which was very convenient.

Cons: It's location is a bit out of the center (but walkable or with streetcar) and next to a drive in restaurant.

Cons: The cost of parking was not mentioned until check-out time. This was a surprise. The neighborhood is a little scary.

Pros: Upon arriving at the hotel, it was in a questionable part of town. I was very impressed with the security of the hotel and the friendly staff. Seeing the security and the gated fence around the hotel, was very comforting to my wife and I as we had our two small children with us. We will definately stay here again and use booking.com.

Cons: Only concern was upon leaving at 5:00am, security was not around to open the gate, but security made such a fantastic first impression it was ok.

Pros: The location was great. There was so much around to see and do within walking distance. The room was charming and huge.. Will stay again next time I am in New Orleans.

Pros: Neighborhood seems safe. The trolley rails run right in front of the building; however, the trains weren't operating due to construction. There's a 24hr restaurant across the street and a BBQ & pizza place next door; there are 2 sushi restaurants and a CVS within a 10 minute walking distance.

Cons: you have to find a place to park in the street as there is no parking provided. We had to circle the neighborhood a few times before we found an open spot.

Pros: I’m sure the place was ok as far as cleaniness goes. I didn’t make it that far.

Cons: As I was approaching the hotel there was an altercation happening. Turns out the front desk clerk was getting into a hot tempered altercation with another guest. The police were called. We were surprised to see that this was a family with two small children and a baby. When wanting to cancel my stay the clerk was extremely rude with a bad attitude. I’ve never experienced worse service.

Pros: The price was on the cheaper side

Cons: “Historical” does not mean to never keep up on needed renovations. Our AC barely turned on and it was a little run down.

Pros: Close to the convention center.

Cons: I found a bed bug crawling on the bed! Made for a very sleepless night, wondering when the next one was coming to get me. Their own website advertises that they serve a continental breakfast, but they do not, nor did they offer me any compensation for their false advertising after I complained multiple times. The walls in the room and bathroom were haphazardly painted in splotches of different colors, making me wonder if they're selectively trying to paint over some mold. It's a shame because the property could be a real gem if they just cleaned it up a bit and offered the breakfast as advertised.

Pros: Location! Street car stop is right across the street. No need to rent a car at all. Easy access to french quarter.

Cons: Room (24) was a real problem...led to a outdoor patio with two sets of sliding/french doors. Either this "room" is rented as a double at times, but during my stay two separate parties shared the unlocked "main" door to the patio. My door was so worn that it did not lock; this on an outdoor patio--you could just push the door in. Shades worn out; bathroom tiles missing, tub drain corroded, and shower controls did not function well. They do not advertise their check in time well, office staff seemed not too friendly.
