Everything good the way it was.

Aircraft used was a 10 year old 767 which is being maintained in excellent condition. Business class was very comfortable and reclined sufficiently to allow me to sleep. The crew were excellent and very attentive. The only two unfortunates were a) food quality, the beef was very tough and below the standard for business class service; and b) the onboard entertainment offered little for non-Mongolians. All around, I would gladly fly MIAT again.

The flight was on time and the aircraft new and well-maintained. Service was friendly and well carried out. Seating on the 737 MAX in business class was comfortable enough that I could doze off during the 4 hour flight. Arrival in Ulsan Baatar was on time and baggage delivered to the belt quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire event and have no trouble recommending MIAT.

Cons: This flight was operated by MIAT. I have never been on a plane with such cramped seats. If the person in front tipped their seat back it was almost touching your nose! Nothing on screen for 4 and a half hours and the AC barely functioned, so with a full plane it became unbearably hot!

Delayed
Pros: They did give us a snack on board

Surprise baggage charge
Pros: The airplane was quite new and felt comfortable. The food was delicious and hot. The attendants were helpful and attentive to our needs.
Cons: I wasn’t aware of the $70 (!!!) charge for a second item of checked luggage. In addition to the unanticipated cost, it was a real hassle to pay. The MIAT agent at the ticket counter could not accept payment and I had to leave my passport with her as I waited across the terminal on a different line to pay. Then I had to bring my receipt back to the attendant to get my passport. Now that I know, I would try to find a different airline to fly.Reviewed Oct 2017review from

Ticket agents were worthless
Pros: Getting from point A to point B was fine, it was the ticketing agents beforehand who were the problem.

Pros: Food is always good on the MIAT flights. I wish that you could check-in in advance to get better seating; I was in the last row of the plane. Service in also great. The run one movie on the screens but the offered headphones are substandard today
