Cons: The shower head was coming off from the mounted pole in the shower stall. The chrome cast connection was unable to be explained by the staff and I had to keep on trying to get connected to use my Netflix. The breakfast was not included. The room was nice and cozy but dusty and noisy from construction across the street.

Cons: We stay the whole trip there (4 nights). We suffer from electricity shortage 3 out of 4 with lights keep on and off a while. The technician comes at the 1st time but the situation remains. I can’t say it’s the hotel fault as they tell us it’s due to unstable power supply from electricity company. But I don’t expect it happens few times like haunted house..

Cons: Got stung by a whole bunch of local taxes at the end of my stay I new nothing about and a 200"ringit deposit when I arrived that was also never mentioned. When there was a power outage my do not disturb sign was turned off so someone went into my room when I wasn't there and then wasn't offered any type of consolation for my privacy being breeched

Cons: It took us 1 hour to check-in because the first room they gave to us was not cleaned (with someone's hair all over the floor, fingerprints on furniture, dust etc), and the second room had a very strong cigarette smoke smell. They asked us to wait for another room in the first room (with hair on the floor). While we were sitting there a cleaning lady came and started vacuum cleaning just in front of us while we were there! The rooms are shabby and outdated. Not a 4 star hotel as you expect. The rooftop area is not as advertised. The hotel reconstructed the whole area, and now most of the roof is occupied by a restaurant. A new swimming pool is veeery small. And there are no armchairs and only 4 sunbeds. After reconstruction pictures on booking.com where not updated. If we had known all these we would have chosen another hotel for a much more reasonable price.

Cons: Checkin service and restaurant service was unfriendly, slow and they didn’t bring us the food and brought the wrong drinks order! The hotel mostly caters for the Asian market so the bars and breakfast were very loud and busy and we didn’t feel very welcome. There were also a lot of children so it’s not for a place for couples. We’ve stayed in three hotels in K.K. on our trip and I definitely wouldn’t stay here again. You can get something much better for your money.

Pros: If you've ever stayed at a Le Meridien, you'll know what to expect -- from quality of furnishings and decor, to outdoor pool overlooking the sea and staff courteousness, down to even the MALIN+GOETZ toiletries, this property is exactly what I've experienced in other Le Meridiens (NYC, San Francisco, etc.). This is no small feat, considering the general lower quality of living in KK. The location is great, just across the night market with a splendid ocean view and sunset. Pool has bar with happy hour. Rooftop terrace bar/restaurant is a very cool space, but its popularity seems to peak at sunset (by the time we made it up there at around 9pm, there was more waiting staff than customers -- still, I enjoyed the live jazz singer performance). KK has a small city core, and it is possible to walk to all of the most interesting spots from the hotel. I enjoyed the comfortable king-size bed and quality linens. Bathroom has separate walk-in shower and bathing tub.

Cons: The dinner buffet was less to our liking then the breakfast buffet. I like Malaysian food, but my husband hoped for some western style food. That was available, but limited. The desserts were heavenly though.

Cons: I wanted to change my itinerary and bring my hotel stay a day forward, from the 21st to the 20th. I offerred to pay the difference in rate if any. Hotel staff told me they cannot do that for me as booking was made via a third party. It was actually made via a fourth party as Kayak outsorced it to getaroom.com. The actual helpline indicated in the booking email (469-675-5368) was possibly run by a fifth party. They were utterly unhelpful with my request to change the booking date by a day, even though I did offer to pay any difference in price. Rigidly cited some sort of policy. I went back to the hotel staff in person and tey also continued to refuse to help.
The consequence was that I had to book another hotel for the 20th, did not stay at Le Meridien on the 21st and my money was wasted. I will not be booking via Getaroom ever again and I will be avoiding Le Meridien.

Cons: No slippers provided in room, which seems sacrilegious for a hotel located in Asia! The exterior of the hotel seems far more grimy than the interior. Lots of street traffic on the busy street just outside (but alas, that's hardly the hotel's fault).

Cons: The basin tap gave a small problem as the indicator for cold water at blue only works if turned on low & once you raised to higher flow, it became hot and of course red indicator remained hot. I did not report this fault as it was not significant to me as I only use the basin to wash hands and do not need to turn it up frequently so it did not really bother me. Cons: The dynamic pricing which meant we paid more for a Friday night stay in a lesser room at the beginning of the trip than we did for a superior deluxe room at the end of the trip. They were booked at the same time...why should this be ? I understand supply and demand but this sort of profiteering does not go down well with these foreign visitors.

Cons: 1. Bad Check in Experience. A) Check in experience was well below par for a Club Floor room. Room was not a Club Twin as requested. Was upgraded to a Jr. SUITE without a Twin beds. Had to wait for a Twin room for some time. Stressful check in experience. Booked Sea view. No sea view available had to wait for sea view room to be vacant. B) Service is horrible. Staff not attentive. No managers or supervisors monitoring Staff constantly had to be called for service. C) Food quality & selection is poor. For the price paid :No value for money. Worse Club Cocktail hour ever experienced. D) Lounge full of mosquitoes n staff could do nothing. Bitten all over while drinking bottle of wine. E) Cleanliness of property. The small beach & surrounding waters was dirty. Had rubbish floating in water ect. Pool side Cafe. Staff didn't clear fast enough even though not busy. Pigeons attacked leftovers on plates left uncleared. Huge mess of food bits all over courtesy of the pigeons. Staff not attentive or service oriented. Property needs better maintenance & upkeep.

Cons: It's pretty busy, so lobby area and breakfast buffet a bit of a madhouse at times. They ran out of pool towels twice in the time we were there which was very annoying and impractical. It's a long walk back to the room for a bath towel and why should you have to? That is happened once was bad, twice was unacceptable (I emailed but did not get a reply). One night a car alarm went off at around 10:30pm and was blaring for over an hour, keeping everyone awake. It went off again at 6:45am the following morning which woke everyone up and this went on for 75 minutes. Breakfast was really average, and every day (we were there 6 nights) there was problems with the coffee machines, at least one (usually more) not working. Difficult to find some of the facilites initially e.g. bowling alley - some signage would be useful as well as info on opening hours and pricing. No bath towels in one of our rooms upon arrival, and no hand towels in the other. Had a couple of spa treatments, they were okay but nothing special and quite pricey. Access to outside area is not great (poor indoor/outdoor flow).

Cons: There is no beach at this hotel. There are 2 men made `beach like` places but they are 10m wide each. Maximum 10 people can use it in the same time. If you want beach do not stay in this hotel . Go to Nexus or some other hotel with a proper beach.. If you insist to stay here then there are boats to islands hourly. I suggest you to go to islands to swim. Also foods are expensive. Water sports staff on the boats are unkind. ( the ones in the marina was very kind) .

Cons: The rain shower in the bathroom is installed too close to glass door, thus cause difficulty in showering. Plus, there is no tray/area to put shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. The sofa has stains so looks very dirty.

Cons: The apartment looked good on the internet photos. The whole building it was part of was filthy dirty from the ground floor to our level. A GOOD CLEAN IS REQUIRED. If we had not paid for the week, we would not have stayed there. The 4.30am smell from other apartments was horrendous. maybe 2 staff were "friendlier" than others, we appeared to be an inconvenience. KK was a big No No & so disappointing. Sandakan was filthy too, more history. Sandakan Hotel was a palace after KK. Kuching Park Hotel made up for the other 2 & we stayed longer than intended - due to exorbitant Singapore charges.
