10.0 Excellent
Pros: All members of staff were super friendly and helpful. The stay did not make us feels like solely a ‘stay’ but more like a family gathering. Highly recommend this place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff with excellent english. Great location, just 5 mins from the train station. Lots of dining options too. Felt very homely. Shared kitchen facilities and washing machine available.
Cons: Very steep narrow stairs up to the room. It was only 1 set, but tricky with large suitcases. The staff helped on departure though.
7.0 Good
Pros: The reception could speak good English and friendly. The place is near to Kanazawa train station. Quite small room but overall the place is clean and cosy. The tidbits offered was good too :)
Cons: The limited space in the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and provide basic info on places & foods. Free drink & snakes was available.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed by the hosts with genuine warmth. We had arrived early but were given the room. The communal kitchen is a great place to meet fellow travellers. Some snacks, drinks and breakfast stuff is provided by the host
Cons: None

The Share Hotels Hatchi Kanazawa - Kanazawa - Building
2
9.3 Excellent (2,389 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at THE SHARE HOTELS HATCHi Kanazawa - Hostel places you in the heart of Kanazawa, within a 15-minute walk of Omicho Market and Kenrokuen Garden. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The shower room is so big and has everything you need. Dorm room is spacious and cozy and clean. Staff is friendly. Big kitchen/common area next to the bathroom.
Cons: The shower room is in the basement so you need to bring along all things at once. If you forget to bring, it's kinda inconvenient cause you may need to go up and go down again and again (my experience was that I forgot the password and had to go up again to look for the password sheet. Although the hostel has an elevator.. still..) It's close to higashi chaya where you can buy a lot of omiyage (souvenirs). But it closes early (around 5-6pm) in winter so it's hard to find places for dinner. But on ground floor there is a restaurant. You can eat there if you want (I didn't try though)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you book a private room, you also get a key to a private bathroom to the private room guests. It was always very clean and is beautiful. Staff is very friendly and ready to help with anything you want! From tips on Kanazawa to information regarding transport to other cities. You can leave your luggage with them before and after your stay Close to everything! Walkable distance to anywhere in the city.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location is good - between the old geisha district and a walking distance from the station, Kenrokuen garden and Omicho market. The design of the common spaces and bathrooms is good.
Cons: The private room doesn't give you the value for money. The sound isolation is practically non-existent, the sleeping area feels stuffy as all the warm air gathers there. As there is only one bathroom per floor for the private rooms, there is a chance you'll have to wait or go to another floor. The rooms seems bigger on the photo's than it actually is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Super large hotel room (booked a quadruple family room) with a personal cabin concept and a large living room. Clean and staff is very friendly. - Welcome drinks voucher came in handy - Coined laundry and drier at a small cost is very helpful - 2 mins walk to Higashichaya District and a JR bus stop - bound for Kanazawa Station, Kairakuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle (they come around 3x per hour) - Clean shower area (ladies shower are locked w password, very safe!) - 3 mins from a 7-11 store - 1 km away from Omicho, a seafood market - Loving it very much!!
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Layout and location was great, good and clean facilities- location was super easy to get to if you have a jr pass too, free jr bus will drop you off right across the road, and pick up is just across the bridge- super easy! The hostel beds are good and private with a curtain to close off the world and locker is inside the capsule so your belongings are right with you! Definitely would stay there again.
Cons: Socially it there wasn’t much going on, people weren’t really hanging out in social areas so it made finding exploring buddies a little hard. But since I’m happy just exploring alone at times it was fine!
7.9 Good
Pros: This hostel is really clean, organised and secured. I feel really comfortable when using the common areas like kitchen, shower room and toilet. I must say this overtakes many hostels I have ever stayed. There is a cafe/restaurant area at the ground floor which serves food from breakfast to dinner and the food is good and of high quality. Though everyone is welcomed to the restaurant, you get 5% off the total price as guests staying in the hostel.
Cons: The service is quite disappointing. My friend and I booked our beds in the dormitory separately; however, for some reason we received different service. For instance, only one of us got a bigger bed space, and received a bottle of water every 2 days. Without going with my friend, we wouldn't know that with the similar price, you can get different quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge bunk space relative to other hostels, awesome in-bunk locker too with plenty of space for things like laptops. Really comfy bed, everything was very clean and fresh Not too many people per dorm. Super convenient location to exThere was an elevator which is always nice when you're moving luggage around.plore the old historical district or walk to the gardens etc.
Cons: The women's showers were on a different floor than the dorm which was kinda inconvenient, but there was an elevator which helped
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Love that everything was very aesthetic. Toilet for private guests was very spacious, great that there were lifts and the loft room structure was quite good in that it was small but had everything. Staff was very kind and polite, helping us make bookings for bus transport.
Cons: Room was a little widthwise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We like the vibe, the Cafe, the bedroom is spacious than other share hotels, the bathroom it's so minimalist n modern. N we like the amenities tho. N it's cheap for The facilities that u get. And one thing we like very much is, the kitchen. Big table for 6 of us n we can own that table. HAHAHHA. The bedroom soo comfort n definitely we will stay at hatchi again.
Cons: Hmmmm there's nothing.. All is great!

Pros: When you travel alone, how you are greeted and treated by the host is very important. Shuji is a wonderful host, kind and considerate. He upgraded my room, found information for me and even gave me a ride to the station on the day of my departure. A truly wonderful host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed my stay which far exceeded my expectations! The host Shuji was incredibly friendly and went the extra mile in making us more than satisfied. We booked the room with 2 beds but was given the bigger room as it was available, how kind of Shuji! We were also provided with a hand drawn map of local sights and Shuji went out of his way to dry and leave our laundry neatly folded in our room while we were out sightseeing. Can not recommend enough!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome facilities, relaxing and cosy! Hope I can visit again. The owner is really nice and will give you tips on takayama and will even offer to help book transportation if you want a day trip somewhere. He recommended some food places and they were absolutely delicious, got to try the nearby pancakes if you stay!.
Cons: I loved everything

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful, the owner even took us to the station when we were leaving. Good position with easy public transport.
Cons: Room good because on ground floor but next to shower so a little noise when used late at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 12 minute free bus (if you have JR pass) from Kanazawa station. Really nice area and easy walk to everything. Beer and pizza joint near the bridge is fab - super-yummy pizza dough that is rolled nice and thin and not overcooked. Host at Stella is great and gave us a map with extra notes, nice personalised touch.

Pros: The staff was amazing, going the extra mile to accommodate our early departure from the hotel due to a typhoon, even returning the the full amount for the room in spite of cancelling only in the morning. The breakfast buffet was also really good
Cons: The location is not great but the shuttle bus to the station every half our make up for it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast buffet, perfect rooms and very nice onsen. The place to be for a relaxing weekend.
Cons: The hotel is not so central, but a shuttle bus brings you to the train station from which you can easily travel to your destination.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good selection for BF but all was fresh
Cons: Sent some emails before arrival but tey were not received as BOOKING.COM's email system does curtail emails. VERY BAD of booking.com. So we ended with the wrong room but could solve the issue locally
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great room. Wonderful breakfast included.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this hotel were the friendliest and most attentive staff we have ever met. We are always impressed by japanese staff, but this staff was simply wonderful. The onsen was nice to relax in the evening and the breakfast had something for everyone (especially those who like to have ice cream for breakfast will be spoiled). The hotel is super clean and very cosy.
Cons: We had the smallest room in the hotel, but it still had all necessary amenities. We do find that the two arm chairs and coffee table should have been removed to create a little space.

Pros: Bungo-San is an excellent host. He provided us with restaurant recommendations (based on the type of food, price, location, opening time, etc...) and he helped us plan our time in Kanazawa giving us bits of advice and maps. What a perfect welcome! The ryokan is super clean, Bungo & his mother are exquisite and the location is perfect. The toilet and Japanese Bathroom were super clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: What
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Riokan and family business atmosphere, attentive staff and cleanliness. Also the fact they had a mattress below the futon was a welcomed thought for foreigners used to cushy bedding. The public bath was nice and not crowded. The optional Japanese breakfast ( also non Japanese available) was very good.
Cons: Nothing really. As westerners we are not used to communal sink to wash our teeth, but this is a Riokan, so it is part of the experience and was not an inconvenience for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awsome Ryokan experience ! Very well located because all the things to see in Kanazawa are about 15-20min walk. The host has many tips for restaurants around and for Bus.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, pretty rooms & bathroom (a bit more modern than in the pictures on booking)
Cons: Our window on the first floor was directly on other rooms air conditionner coolers. It takes all the windows space and it was absolutely ugly.

Cons: Wished for electronic payment option but since it is a traditional inn, I understand.
Hotel Pacific Kanazawa - Kanazawa - Building
9
8.9 Excellent (2,101 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Pacific Kanazawa in Kanazawa, you'll be a 3-minute walk from Omicho Market and 11 minutes by foot from Kanazawa Castle. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cozy room
Cons: Location is a bit far from station
7.5 Good
Pros: it's a nice small hotel 1 bus stop from the train station (or 15 minutes walk). it's really close to the fish market and in a good location for visit the city by walk. The staff is friendly and helpful, the cleaning was good. they gave you 2 free bottles of water. The coffe shop looks very trendy.
Cons: we choosed this hotel based on the reviews..but the room and the bathroom were really small. too small for having a comfortable stay. This is our 4th year in Japan, we are used to small rooms, but this room was even smaller than some hotels in bigger cities! we felt the price paid was high compared the quality/ room offered.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy boutique hotel. Small but there is everything you need. Helpful and knowledgeable staff and great coffee! Nice attention to detail is a plus.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location very close to the Castle Park and walking distance from Kenrokuen. The room is a good size, very clean, with a comfortable bed and and even with a big armchair. There is a fridge and a kettle in the room. They provide pajamas, slippers, and the necessary toiletries.
Cons: Nowhere to put your clothes - not a single shelf. The big armchair in the room is a nice touch but is not of much use as such when you have to keep your clothes on it. There is actually enough wall space in the room for a couple of shelves, and it would make a lot of difference.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I like everything about this place. You can rent a bike with a reasonable price. The location is right next to Omicho market. The staff was helpful and kind. Room is clean.
Cons: It would be great if I can rent the bike at least till midnight.
7.9 Good
Pros: Definitely the location! Walking distance to places all around Kanazawa. Others positives would be the deodorizing spray and the food guides they have printed.
Cons: We switched off the toilet and room fan on the first day when we went out and when we came back, there was a slight toilet smell in the room. Keep the fan on! It helps remove the smell.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the details and design!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were supercomfortable, loved it! Across Kanazawa station and very friendly staff.
Cons: /
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is opposite to the Kanazawa station and just 900 m. walking to Omicho fish market.
Cons: The hostel is on the 3rd floor which this building has no lift, not recommend for guests who come with senior people or small kids, this is a small hostel, don’t expect the comfortable stay, just suit for only short one night stay in Kanazawa.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Two minute walk from the train station.
Cons: The women’s lounge area is not adequately heated. It was freezing cold. Because of jet lag I would be up at 4 and 5am and would want to sit and drink coffee and check emails in the lounge area. The women’s lounge area would have no heat at all. I wore my down coat and was wrapped in a blanket and was still cold.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is very near the train and bus station. There's a family mart across the street. Beds are comfortable and with lockers. Free coffee, tea and sake. Very nice lounge area.
Cons: There is no lift and its on the 3rd floor. If you have heavy bags it would be difficult.

Pros: I love the view from my room where I can see the panoramic view of Kanazawa city. Dinner and breakfast are fabulous where chefs are making them right in front of you. Raw material selections for cooking and food preparation are the highlights. Staff and services here are exceptional indeed.
5.4 Okay
Pros: elegance of architecture and interior design details, especially in communal areas, food (really top notch)
Cons: attitude of the lady who took 'care' of us (so snobbish and rude), timing (latest dinner 6:30pm, breakfast 8:30, check out 10am...but check in 3pm...), bed comfort, bill (overall not value, food not enough to compensate lack of service and facilities)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was exceptional - both dinner and breakfast were highlights of our trip.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were superb especially Toku and Noriko, very helpful with suggestions and arrangments; also superb masseuur Shotaro Excellent kaiseki meals, but expensive, better if combined into half board rates
Cons: Not convenient or close to any bus routes, taxi fares added up going in and out every day; Was not informed until checkout that different charges applied for weekend stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WOW. We loved it here!! - Wonderful hospitality. The staff even helped us book a cab for our early, 6am departure. - Amazing views from our room, both day & night. It was so cool to see the entire city of Kanazawa - Breakfast & dinner were some of the best meals we had in Japan. - The beds are super comfortable - The bathroom felt like a personal, luxurious onsen
Cons: We wished the staff communicated to us that dinner & breakfast was part of the stay for the 2 nights we were there. We didn't realize this and left the staff worried about why we didn't show up for dinner! Oops.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very good, close to popular tourist attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the service is very good. There are many choices for breakfast. Hope they would notice that ventilation fan in the bathroom is very dusty. The bedroom is little bit dark and lighting can be improved.
Cons: My husband likes the breakfast, there are many choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An excellent choice at breakfast. The onsen was excellent too. The hotel is brilliantly situated for many of the places we wanted to visit.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit cramped.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very close to Kenrokuen and Kabazawa Castle. They provided a little Japanese snacks and special tea (Hoji-cha) for free in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The teapot and cups are Jap traditional type. We enjoy using it to drink tea. The bottle of mineral water provided had the special tainted glass pattern printed, which matches with its designs in the hotel lobby, which made it more exclusive. They provided free ice-cream outside the onsen area which was surprisingly unexpected. Onsen was good too. It was just 3 minutes walk to the gate of Kanazawa Castle. It uses a swan to represent the hotel. We saw the swan statue in the Castle Park thus we understand why it uses it as its symbol.
Cons: Breakfast was too Japanese style. It would be nice to have a bit more western food.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the Onsen at this hotel. We have stayed here twice. Just a really nice place with great staff.
Cons: Room size good just layer out a bit odd.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, excellent food and decor, clean, staff are friendly and just... use the onsen. Even if you're not the spa-going type, just go for it after a hot day. Highly recommend the Japanese room.
Cons: There is genuinely nothing to dislike. If you want a Western room, you can have that instead. There are other eateries nearby if you want to eat something else.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice big room with a view on the castle through the threes , enjoying the charming, noble atmosphere of the room and lobby. Located at the castle and the fabulous Kenroku-en garden. The hotel has its own thermal spring for the (indoor) onsen.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well located. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly n professional.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff and the manager were excellent and the rooms were nice
Cons: The food was very disappointing - after coming from Kyoto where the reception person booked an excellent restaurant for us every night for 6 nights the food was like fast food - tasteless and rushed to your table - everything was so obviously pre-prepared and even the seafood was tasteless. Inexplicable when Kanazawa has such excellent seafood Breakfast was cold and bland.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly anda very helpful staff even though they speak almos nothing of English
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is so near Shinkansen Station . Excellent in all aspects. I was looking for much bigger room , the top ryokan is 3times more expensive .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful ryokan experience with great kaseiki in their specialised fugu restaurant. Fantastic Japanese breakfast. Great all round.
Cons: Room could have had a private bath which is not uncommon at that price point.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere was great. The place is very well kept and decorated with taste. You can notice it as soon as you walk the entrance. Perfectly located, 5 mins walk from the station makes it a perfect location. The staff is very professional, supported us with bags and showed use the traditional ryokan's way. The room was very spacious and with lot comforts and having dinner in a reserved room has is great charm. If the soups disappointed us, the fish and the meat were simply fantastic.
Cons: Considering the price, We were not amazed by the size of the onsen (even though we do admint it was clean, well furnished with quality products) and The dinner left us a bit disappointed in some of the soups, some appetizers and fruits resulted watery or lacking a bit of taste. To be honest, we had better ones during our trip. Part of the staff barely speaks english (but we want to ackmowledge their alefforts to support all our request)

Pros: Staff were excellent and assisted with great restaurant bookings and touring information. Breakfast was fantastic with a terrific Japanese choice as well as Western. Excellent brewed coffee in the lounge.
Cons: -
9.6 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Needed to borrow a vacuum cleaner. They didn't have one for guests, but lent me one from the front desk. It was very handy. Free laundry room for guests to wash their clothes. Only had to pay for the laundry powder.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The king room was very spacious, and everything was clean, fresh, and appealing. Great value and was part of the reason we found Kanazawa our favorite city in Japan.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
7.9 Good
Pros: The basic room size is quite generous, and the layout of the bed (with the foot of the bed towards the window) was quite unique. The windows can be opened, which provides a refreshing cooling affect when needed. The wife enjoyed the selection of complimentary creams and lotions from the lobby. The location is a 6-7 min walk from Kanazawa station, on the exit on the other side of the main gate, which provided a nice quiet stroll after a big day.
Cons: Our initial room was facing directly into a wall of an adjacent building, which will probably be the same for a good portion of the rooms. We were able to be relocated to a room with a decent view after some polite arguing by the wife.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was great, very spacious and the beds we really nice
Cons: Standard options if Japanese breakfast. For 4 star hotel, could have added something for western travelers.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The newly built hotel is very convenient walking distance from the train station. Clean modern rooms, pleasant decor and overall great amenities.
Cons: The restaurant needs much to be desired especially for service and menu choices.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room clean and tidy
Cons: Staff were friendly be efficient
The Share Hotels Hatchi Kanazawa - Kanazawa - Building
4

Pros: Nice and cosy hotel. Breakfast was good. Car park, depend on availability, is available next to hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: The only thing missing was some storage in the room, otherwise all was great.
7.0 Good
Pros: hotel is central. i have lived in kanazawa and know how well located it is. the breakfast was very good, especially the season-specific dishes. the receptionists were very pleasant and efficient. the cafe is also nice.
Cons: the closet space is catastrophic! extremely limited space to hang up garments. in winter when one has more clothing, the space is used up with three items. if you are two persons then all the more it is bad. also there is no closet to store clothing. one is forced to live out of the suitcase, so to speak. the bathroom has no space for one's own toiletries because the hairdryer and ammenity tray takes up the counterspace. in addition the toilet is much too loud when it is flushed and groans on too long after.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close to many of the tourist sights Comfortable room Close to bus and shops

Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were great, facilities and public spaces were comfortable and attractive, location was perfect, restaurants and food were delicious. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and they went above and beyond to help with any request.
Cons: There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the wired internet that was provided was very slow. In this day and age, it seems important to provide quick, reliable internet and Wi-Fi, or it will be difficult for business travelers (or anyone who relies on the internet really) to stay there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything, clean, helpful and kind staff
Cons: Small gym with early closing, no pool
