We had to go to another rental company at last second and could not even rent with Alamo. Costing a lot more than what I had reserved and a different vehicle that was not suited for us.

My flight was delayed. Landed in Honolulu at 2 am . The main customer assistant told me that the rental car office would be closed and that I would need to come back after 5 am to get the car. Another assistant didn’t know this and said the car would be there at 2 am . I tried telling him that someone earlier told I would have to come back to the airport to get the car . The fact that there was confusion bothered me

Easy to find the outlet in discovery center. Welcoming , helpful desk staff. Car rental was efficient. Getting to the vehicle in the hotel parkade was a bit of a maze. No problem driving out. Dropping vehicle off in morning was going back into maze in parkade.. but was completed. Helpful staff at vehicle return

Fast friendly service from check in thru final return of the daily rental. Just wish they had after hours return - cars have to be back by 5 PM.

Enterprise in Honolulu provides great service. Pick up and drop off of your rental vehicle in minutes. Centrally located just of Ala Moana Blvd. Staff very friendly.

Problem isnt with Enterprise, problem is with Kayak. I specifically put in airport as location and you booked me offsite, not at airport and did not tell me this!

I booked a car at a specific location and the third party pushed the confirmation to another location. Not only did I have to take a Lyft/Uber to a location outside of where I originally booked the car. I waited in line for 1 hr at the location I wanted only to be told my reservations weren’t at this location and they wouldn’t honour the reservation price and the new price was over 3X’s my booking cost.

The employers were super friendly, we got an upgraded vehicle for free and made our trip a very memorable and fun time at Hawaii!

Enterprise didn’t fill up the tank completely with n either if my car rentals. That was frustrating.

When I made the reservation, I reqeuseted pickup at the airport. Kayak changed to an in town location with our making it clear and I did not notice the change on the reservation. Imagine my surprise when the airport Enterprise had no cars and I had to spend $40 to get to and from the city. Only the great staff at Enterprise saved the day

The price was perfect for what we got. The location was fairly easy to get to but the parking lot was always so full and it was a little stressful making sure we got there by the time they closed.

Suzy was great! Free upgrade for us. Nice clean luxury car. No hassle car was at the airport terminal. No shuttle required.

Sixt did everything right. But the BMW SUV lacked a lot. My Hyundai Santa Fe is more comfortable and has more cargo space.

The Sixt staff was great and let us know since I was on military orders they could have given me a price that was $15 less per day- I think sites like yours should have a military discount too if the carrier can give better rate. That was disappointing as I was going to Hawaii to work Peale harbor day

The vehicle on the website when booking was different to the actual vehicle I was allocated upon pick up. So wasn’t very pleased with this false advertising. Upon pick up the customer service was terrible, the lady at Sixt tried to make it out as if she was being helpful when in actual fact she wasnt. I would never book through Kayak and Sixt again. Highly do not recommend

Got charged for gas despite returning the car with a full tank.

Budget accepted our rental through Kayak without question. We had to wait for about an hour for a car to be readied for us, however.

I booked a car for pick up at 4:30 pm on 5/27/22. The honolulu airport budget seemed to have minimal cars available. I was told that even though I had a pick up time, it was going to be about an hour wait. Given the fact I had dinner plans, I had to cancel the reservation. I booked an Uber instead.

It took two hours to pick up car only 2 people at counter Car was great and drop off great people great but just wait time to get and I wanted to start my vacation Lack of sleep getting there in plane and fatigue doesn’t help either

Upon arrival I waited over 1 1/2 hours to be helped by an employee. I had reserved a rental only for the day so I had to take a taxi to get to where I needed to be. Priceline wouldn’t let me cancel the reservation because the reservation was only the one day

The rental was made, unbeknownst to me, and without any indication, at an off-airport Hertz, not the one inside the airport proper, but immediately outside the fence! The representative at the off-airport trailer was helpful and professional, but I had already wasted nearly an hour in line at the on-airport location, before learning I needed to take a cab or ride share to the just-off-post location (where they washed the vehicles for both locales)! Either Hertz, or Kayak, or both, should make it clear that the rental location was indeed (just) off-airport, and indicate how to arrive there. We took a Lyft (for less than a mile).

Knowing that the car was not available at the airport would have been a nice fact. It was a remote location with no shuttle service - went to the airport location to find out that wasn’t where our car was. Had to hire a cab to get to the car. ($25 expense) Return was better and $20 expense… facility was fine, car was good but lack of info prior to arrival was not.

When I picked up the car I was told the prepaid gas was $4.99 and was 20 cents less than on the island. I did it and later found that gas was $4.35 on the island. I didn’t appreciate being lied to and felt like Hertz screws people to make them pay more

Great experience. They gave us a Chevy Spark which is the perfect car to zip around Waikiki as parking spots are few and far between. It used very little fuel also which was a bonus.

Please make sure that your car is available at the airport. Hertz has a unit on Lagoon Drive which is only open until 5 PM. They do not help customers travel between the airport office and the Lagoon Drive office. I only had a single carry-on roller and needed a walk anyway, so I walked a mile or out to Lagoon Drive. There were no sidewalks for sections of the walk. Another person I met said that the Lagoon Drive office is only for car sales, not rentals. This was not true, but the rental operation was not smoothly running. While waiting in line, I changed my flight out to Japan to depart on Sunday instead of Tuesday. Hertz will not accept a dropped-off car at the Lagoon office on Sundays. They would not cooperate with the airport office. Really? I canceled the entire reservation. Another pilot lent me a work truck and I boarded the flight to HND on Sunday. Honorable mention: After they found out that I was actually a customer, one of the clerks was kind enough to drop me off at Mitch's, a favorite restaurant of mine in the neighborhood. (I had by that time missed dinner with friends at the Mariana Yacht Club.)

It would have been better to have a shuttle rather than have the customers catch a cab,uber to the outside location. That was awful!!!! Should have been noted that it was an outside location with NO shuttle

Had to get a taxi to Kayak. They said they smelled smoke in the car. Charged $400 more. Very bad attitudes.

No mention during booking that this was t at the airport location and there was no shuttle. Had to pay extra fee for my boyfriend to drive because the booking was on my name even though I didn't drive the car.

The place wasn’t even open when we arrived and our itinerary said nothing about it! We had to pay over $100 to take rideshares back and forth from our hotel to go get our rental in the morning when the place opened. There was no information provided for the location we were renting from, which made for a very frustrating and stressful start to our trip.

The line to get a car was over an hour long, so we gave up and went elsewhere.

Stay away from thrifty/ dollar at Honolulu airport, for the money you save over other rentals it's not worth it. Even after a prepaid rental we waited about 3 hours to get our truck even after we upgraded to a larger SUV as the person at the front desk said this one is in stock. Saving a little money is not worth the headache, also our rental was dirty and had damage all over. Rental itself was nice but that's about it. The person downstairs where you pickup the cars from told everyone within earshot that because we were being cheap that's why we have to wait for a car.... The other rental counters were empty and people that went to them were in and out in a normal amount of time.

It took 3 hours to pick up a car from hnl. There wasn’t enough of an inventory so we were all literally waiting for cars to be returned. All of the other brands had zero lines. I would consider another brand than dollar or thrifty which used the same staff from hnl.

After filling the vehicle with fuel at an airport gas station, before returning the vehicle I was still charged for fuel. Very disappointing

Was charged a $125 cleaning fee for some sand in the vehicle when renting a vehicle in Hawaii.

i got to the honolulu airport office and there about 35 folks in line and ONLY 2 STAFF. RIDICULOUS!

Line up was 45 minutes wait when I arrived. I left and went to a different agency.

I had to wait 2 hours in line for my car. Because it was managers choice, it was a compact or a full-size suv. I chose the suv, which was a beat up Ford Explorer. I will never rent from Thrifty again. It was like I was driving an original “island car” on Oahu there were so many dings and scrapes on this vehicle. For the amount that I actually drove, I would have been better off getting an Uber.

Pick up process is painful. Long lines at the counter and then long waits just to pick up the car. Will not use Dollar again in Honolulu.

Car was satisfactory for our purpose, but I waited an hour at first counter and another half hour at second counter to get car...outside mirrors had a bad film on the that could not be cleaned off...it was hard to see through them. Passenger seat could not be adjusted... and when I brought it to return desks attention no one even apologized.

The main problem was there were no cars available for 2 or more hours!!!

45 minute wait at the counter and 75 minutes wait for a call. I understand short staffing, but you need to be informing people before the end of the payment process. I would have canceled and gone elsewhere as every other counter in the area was open and had cars. We also didn’t get the vehicle we paid for—we rented an SUV and got an old, rattly, not particularly clean minivan. By the time we finally got the car, we had it for less than 48 hours despite paying for 3 days. It’s enough for me to swear off dollar/Thrifty in the future. No, thanks!

The lineup wait time was almost an hour. The fellow at the counter was good and didn't waste time with up charges once we had clarified what we wanted.

The vehicle we received was filthy on the inside. There were four minivans available for us, and all four were dinged up pretty badly and quite dirty on the inside. The one we chose was the cleanest of them all, but it was dirty on the inside. We actually had to clean the inside of the windshield in order to see out of it. The vehicle made a lot of funny sounds, as though it was breaking down. It also had no power to speak of. The office part was okay, although there was only one person working the counter and it took him a while to get to us. Turning it back in was easy.

They offer you a low rate but don't have enough cars to support. Waited THREE HOURS for my car, gave up, rented from Avis. Hertz is parent company who did same to me elsewhere. Will never rent from Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty again.

They have moved their car pick up desk to the area where the cars are actually located -- in the garage. It went very smoothly and the person who checked us in was very nice. There are special steps you have to take to show you are vaccinated- all good.

I extended the rental time over the phone and didn’t receive email with rate and confirming options.

It was close to my hotel. I could rent the car in Waikiki and return it without having to pay for parking at my hotel.

Agent didn’t know pick up procedure so I had to go all the way back to check in counter to get my car key Boo!

Got there and was told " don't know why they advertise Jeeps, don't have any" Tried to give me a mini van that was trashed inside and out. Got my money back and a Cab back to the airport to rent from a well known name.

Car interior was pretty unclean, car worked ok but was definitely a little dated and had some bad tint.
