Overview of Hong Kong Airlines

Operating predominantly within the Asia Pacific region, Hong Kong Airlines also connects to North America. Services are available to more than 10 countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Canada, and the United States. It is one of the few carriers that reaches the isolated states of the Maldives and Northern Mariana Islands. The majority of international flights are operated out of their hub in Hong Kong. Following on from being awarded a 4-star certificate by Skytrax in 2011, Hong Kong Airlines was voted the 2nd Best Regional Airline in Asia in 2017.

The airline exists as a member of the HNA Group, which is based in Haikou and also manages real estate, tourism and financial services. Codeshare agreements are in place with carriers such as Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Turkish Airlines, Air India and Fiji Airways. These agreements provide customers more transfer options and the ability to reach more destinations.

Hong Kong Airlines operates a fleet of entirely Airbus aircraft. Most of the fleet consists of models in the A330 and A350 family, which are designed to carry passengers on medium-to-long haul flights. The tail of the fleet is red with a stylized bauhinia flower in yellow.

Customers can choose between Economy and Business Class when flying. Personal TVs are not fitted in the Economy section; however, handheld tablets are provided to passengers as an alternative form of entertainment. Business Class features flatbed reclining seats and specialized amenity kits that emphasize Hong Kong’s history and culture. The Business cabin has a 1 x 2 x 1 configuration, meaning all seats have direct aisle access.
