Cons:There was a minor and brief mix up where they said I owed $40 more dollars. The guy was helping out at that location from their mid-town office and punched in the wrong code, mistakenly saying I was returning the car to the wrong location. Cons:Not only was a charge for the insurance on the car but I never got a vehicle in the first place. Kayak information is not up to date on this location as not only did they have no cars available on site after I book but they do not allow same day pick up. I am completely disappointed in my experience overall and will not be using either service in the future.Reviewed 13 Oct 2020

Cons:When we picked up the car we did a walk around but missed the broken taillight. We asked if someone needed to check off we did that and they said no. When we got in the car and was several several miles down the road we turned on the air conditioner and it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke. The day before we turned in the car my husband was filling up the car and noticed that one of the tires had cord showing. We returned the car and they took a little bit off the balance but they never said sorry or even addressed the fact what happened.Reviewed 21 Oct 2020

Good car Poor first ImpressionPros:It was easy to add an extra day to the rental and at a reasonable rate. The dropoff person was friendly unlike the pickup.Cons:The location i picked the car up from closed at 6 but nothing was mentioned on the site about having to arrive before 6 or your car would be given away. I was treated very rudely until another person arrived after me who also had a reservation but was not told they were close or that their car was given away. The manager offered me a smaller car for the same rate and larger car but I would have to pay more! He then partially cleaned up a newly returned car and gave it to me. Very Bad Experience. Did not want to help fix the issue but reluctantly did after I advised I had prepaid for the rental.Reviewed 20 Apr 2017

It Hurts to Rent From HertzPros:I liked the ease of renting through Kayak. I don't have much nice to say about the Hertz experience.Cons:The checkout process took an obscene amount of time. The only guy working the counter spent twenty to thirty minutes with the guy that was already at the counter when we arrived. He was bs-ing with the customer and practically fist bumped him throughout the conversation. He loudly mentioned at least three different times about the amazing upgrades he was giving to him for free. I literally checked the cancellation policy while standing there because of the ridiculousness that was occurring. Unfortunately for us, Hertz required us to pay in advance and didn't allow for cancellations. We were going to cancel and walk to any of the competitors with open counters. As we stood there, more and more customers lined up behind us. All the other competitors kept their counters moving at midnight when we were there. (It's not like it was rush hour and he couldn't keep up.) Finally the rental agent's "bro" left with his multiple "free" upgrades and then it was our turn. Even though we were perturbed about the obscene amount of time it took and just wanted to go after long flights, we were polite and friendly -- not that he deserved it. He practically was a mute when we were there. Asked us if we had insurance and told him we purchased Allianz through Kayak. He rolled his eyes and asked who we use for our personal car. He asked for our credit card. I told him it was already paid for. He grunted and swiped the card anyway. No explanation, just a grunt. Told us to go get the car from the lot. That was it. No friendly chat. No professionalism. No direction where to get from at the lot. In any case, Hertz has no signage in the lot. And the numbers don't align with the large number signs hanging in the lot. So we literally pushed on the lock/unlock until we heard it make noise and walked in that direction. The car has been picked up from the previous person, but it wasn't clean and nor was it washed. As there was no one at the attendant booth, we took a photo of the large scratch on the passenger door in case they tried to claim we damaged it. When we dropped it off, there again was no signage for Hertz, unlike all the other brands. When we found it, once again there was a crowd of aimless people because there was no attendant. We took a picture of the odometer and gas level, locked the car and dropped the keys off in a box by the counter. Others remained waiting. We'll see what the decide to charge to our credit card.... I have all the photos I need to refute any ridiculous claims. I rent cars several times a year. This was my first and last experience with Hertz.Reviewed 23 Oct 2017

Pros:I called to see if I could pick up my SUV rental early and the staff said nothing would be available for early pick up and that I would not have a rental at all. I called national customer service who assured me I would have an SUV that met my needs. When I arrived, they said nothing was available and seemed clueless on whether I could get an SUV at the airport. I had to go to the lot myself and find a KIA Sorrento that had just been returned to get my rental in advance of my trip. Energy level of staff low.Cons:Problem solving skills. I wondered if I could go to the airport and get a rental if they didn't have one and they seemed clueless on that. Fortunately a return came in and saved the day. I don't know if I will rent from this location again. It is convenient to where I live and I got a great value but this was not a good experience.Reviewed 19 Oct 2020

Pros:Staff was helpful and nice. Let me pick up the car an hour early so I could get a head start on my day! Thanks guys!Cons:Verification of drop off. The key had to be left in a drop box, which is handy. But there’s no way to verify what time or by whom the keys were dropped off. To clear me of any liability of the car sitting in the lot while the store is unattended, it would be helpful to have some sort of verification process, an attendant would be nice but not necessary. Pros:Nothing. Car was paid for but no car was available on the same day I was planning on getting it. Terrible experience. And to put the icing on the cake, I've been charged for the car and insurance that Hertz did not deliver.Cons:When I pay for a car and insurance in advance, I expect there to be a car for me.
