Pros: The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The drop off in New York is appealing. The most unfriendly, bossy and cold people I’ve experienced in a service industry.
Cons: The people working in New York act like they hate their job and can’t be bothered to help you. When I was pulling into the hertz lot one of the workers were screaming at me to move up. He could have asked politely. I’ve lived in nyc for 15 years and this behavior is unacceptable. It’s a horrible client experience. Enterprise in NYC treats their customers much better.
Pros: Staff was excellent and friendly. From The beginning i had a great experience. The car i got was clean and comfortable. It was ready for me when I arrived at the store. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I rented a mid-level SUV for my cross country road trip and got upgraded. It may have been because of lack of inventory but regardless it was a pleasant surprise. Best experience I’ve had renting a car.
Cons: I was pretty happy with everything. I got more than i expected and the drop off was easy.

Cons: No car when I arrived. I was taken to another location. Add an hour to my plans.
Pros: The drop off was horrific because the hertz agent told me they were not able to release the hold charge they put on my credit card and would instead be sending me a voucher for a future rental. It took a phone call to the national office and a conference call with the bank that issued my credit card
Cons: To resolve the issue. I have filed a consumer protection complaint.

Bait and switch
Pros: The employees at the Hertz rental car were pleasant. The Nissan versa provided was clean. Pick up and drop off were both easy.
Cons: I had ordered and prepaid for a mid size vehicle. A Toyota Corolla is listed as an example. The car provided by Hertz was a Nissan versa which they advertise in the kayak and elsewhere as a compact car. Hertz refused to provide a larger car unless I paid additional money. I believe this was the smallest car they had on the lot.

Cons: Wait time at office is a little bit longer than needed. They need more staffs.
Pros: Good price, van was there for pickup as promised and was good for our trip. Night drop-off at Hertz office was helpful.
Cons: Car was older (40K) than i'm used to seeing for rentals, and so it showed some wear. Ride wasn't super smooth and van needs front end alignment. Both sides of van had scrapes on sides when i picked it up. Overall though, did the job! Booked through Kayak which said pickup time was 12pm, but Hertz office closes at 12pm. I was there at 12:03pm and luckily they let me in even though door was closed (props to people that worked there for this).
Pros: Fantastic group of staff at the Rockvville location! There was a snag with the server when I arrived to pick up my car, but the duty staff member (Corey) found a work around to get me out of the door. Also gave me a great recommendation for a local eatery. Amazing service all around!
