Pros:The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to try to assist me.Cons:When booking a specific vehicle, specially when paying for the vehicle when doing the booking, one would expect to get the car rental we booked. That didn't happened. Were given a totally different car than the one we booked, as a matter of fact cheaper that the one I booked. Apparently they just "didn't have" the other vehicle. I had purposely wanted the other vehicle for the space, comfort and also because it will do better in the snow in case it would snow (which it did on our trip) thankfully, we made it back home safely but will be someone hesitant about renting from Hertz knowing I won't really get the car I booked and paid for.Reviewed 3 Jan 2021

Should Have UpgradedPros:Good fuel economy. Easy dropoff.Cons:The auto was a very small, underpowered SUV. It constantly shifted gears and had to press the pedal to the floor way too often. Also the rear cargo deck was too small to accommodate my luggage, most had to ride in the back seat as the rear seats would’t fold down flat due to oversized headrests. I was offered two larger SUVs for additional costs, one of which I should have taken. Lastly, I had to wait in line to pick up the vechicle over 30 minutes as the two women clerks were having excessively long “chats” with their lady customers (talked about their trips, families, comparing other rentals on previous trips, the colors of each auto interior on the available units and other unnecessary chatter).Reviewed 19 Jun 2018

Most horrific rental experience ever!!Pros:The roadside assistant was nice and helpful.Cons:1. Our vehicle had a plugged sidewall in the front passenger tire that began to work its way out creating a very dangerous situation for my family. 2 While returning the trade in we picked up in Daytona we waited for 45 min which gave us ample opportunity to speak with numerous other families returning cars. 2 had vehicles with expired oil changes 2 had vehicles who's tags expired in 3 day. 3. The office was a complete mess. There were kids and a dog running around the detail bay. A woman kept yelling at Harley...not sure if that was the dog or one of the kids. The attendant was in sweat pants and a tshirt with a very long beard and tatted arms....very unprofessional establishment!! 4. The attendants way of apologizing "Firestone down the road checks all of our vehicles so it's their fault" I call bs on this one because I manage a fleet of 30 company vehicle all serviced by that Firestone and know the manager and most of the mechanics at this location. I know first hand they would NEVER plug a side wall of a tire because they won't take the liability. They are quick to sell a new tire...it's their job!! In fact they often want to replace all 4 tires at a time when I take my fleet in for repairs. 5 That was in no way an apology for putting the safety of my family at risk. We drove over 10hours one way on that tire and had it blown on the interstate it could have easily killed all of us!!! So to answer this question I will not only never recommend Hertz I will adamantly encourage all of my friends, family, and co workers to never use Hertz!Reviewed 28 May 2017

Pros:It was a nice car seemed to be dependable roomy, even tho it wasn't what I asked for at booking.Cons:Booked and asked specifically for a Chrysler Pacifica. He said they didn't have any on the lot I got there and saw their was indeed a Chrysler Pacifica on the lot. He told me I couldn't use that one it needed an oil change. They subed a Toyota highlander way less room, not to mention the car was disgusting. Someone had spilled a drink it was sticky, smelled of weed and covered in dog hair. They didn't clean the car and the tank was on E. More pissed off about the fact that when I returned someone else had rented the Chrysler Pacifica and it was gone. Cons:You should update site so that the person who is making the booking is the same on the credit card and prevent the reservation from going through. I made the reservation in my name using my wife's credit card because I don't have one and I was told we couldn't use that reservation. We rented a car but I had to do it under my name on my debit/credit card. The car itself was not good. It was GMC Terrain which I believe is a mid-size SUV and not a standard and I do believe I rented a standard SUV. The brakes grabbed a lot and didn't seem to have a good exceleration.Reviewed 3 Oct 2020

Bad customer servicePros:Bad customer first pre-paid online said it would be a 25% if I paid it online didn't get that one to the counter when I got there and asked the lady at the front desk she didn't know the one in care about my situation took the car without looking around it when I got back on the bumper seem to of gotten attached from the car no dents or anything we figured it was him manufacture default me and the lady outside lady outside was very nice my first impression of customer service at the front desk was horribleCons:Customer service bring the car back with very helpful very niceReviewed 27 Sep 2016
