Very nice new car. Lady at the drop off was very friendly and pleasant to work with.

Cons:

Windshield was very streaky and not clean inside. Car had damage when I picked it up, nobody was there to report it to. The one way fees are expensive and I didn't see any indication about fees until you are signing up for the rental.

There is a fundamental problem in the car rental industry that makes it impossible for a customer to specify a feature that the vehicle must have to fit their need. If one were to take a road trip with a rental veh, adaptive cruise control is a game changer, not just for convenience, but to minimize the pain of locking my previously injured ankle in one position for hours at a time. Budget's rep tried but failed to find a veh that fit my needs, even though just weeks earlier I had rented two different vehicles from them that did have the feature, so I know they are in the fleet.

The vehicle itself was the only complaint. It was a nice vehicle but the windshield washers did not work. The dash said it was out of fluid so i bought some to fill it but it was full, but still did not work. Also, the rain sensing wipers were not working. Worst of all is that the front tires were worn of the edge, which makes it hard to turn in the snow that we had during the time i had the vehicle.

Our car was supposed to be smoke free and we could tell there was a smoker in it. It was BAD! We are non smokers and it smelled every day of having it. Very disappointing!!!

Car was dirty. Eaten sunflower seeds, drinks, and trash all in it. Sticky stuff everywhere. Car was NOT full of gas. Started with 50 miles less than I returned it with, AT LEAST. Rip off for sure. Not using Hertz again.

We reserved a premium car. None were available (I understand) and we were given a Ford Ecosport. The smallest of SUV's. When we asked for a rate adjustment, they refused. Also the two drivers side tires were extremely low on pressure and missing valve stem caps. It is extremely difficult to find a source for airing up tires. When we returned to Sarasota, the pickup return location was chaotic. No one present to help, we didn't receive a final receipt, and the service overall was extremely poor. I guess the public are at the rental car companies mercy these days. Very disappointing.

Was given a "Supplier's Choice" car which meant the smallest, dirtiest car in their inventory. I can only imagine few people want a Ford Fiesta that was not only tiny but also still dirty. Both the mirrors and side windows were obstructed by what looked like water stains and finger prints. My partner and I were too tired and in a hurry to go back and change the vehicle at the time of pickup but should I ever use Hertz in Knoxville again I will be double checking the vehicle quality and size before driving off. Book "Supplier's Choice" at your own risk. The cost was only slightly reduced at the time of booking for the inconvenience that the vehicle provided.

My plane was called back to the gate twice, putting me in Knoxville at 1220 am. The agent said that the deal was canceled because it was after midnight. He then tried to rent me a car for over 7 hundred dollars more than the original price. I got a car at Budget later that morning for less than the price of the original lease.

The person that helped us pick up the rental was EXCELLENT. He was the only one at the national AND alamo desk. He had a long line of customers to deal with but was super friendly and helpful. We were impressed with his professionalism and personalized attention as we picked up our car. There were two issues with the rental (one was a headrest issue) but we did not realize until we already picked up the car. There was little to no time to exam the vehicle prior to pick up. but we feel like the staff should have noticed the issues. Either way, we were really happy with the car rental and would definitely rent through this service again. thank you

Pick up was good. Drop off no one anywhere so had to leave keys in a box. Would have like a to be checked out and get a receipt.

Cons:

The tumbler when you turned the key stuck sometimes so you had to play with it to get it to turn. New Car strange!

I made reservations for a vehicle, paid for a vehicle rental, received a confirmation, but no vehicle was available for me. I have tried to resolve this issue by speaking with someone and have had very little success. I would like a refund but can't get in touch with anyone.

Pros:

Smooth process. Pickup was simple, the car (a RAV4) was brand new and clean, the drop off was seamless. I can't understand why anybody would go to one of those other pricey car rentals when this one was as perfect as it gets!

Cons:

Honestly....nothing could have been improved. I bet I didn't spend more than 5 minutes TOTAL at the rental car counter and that includes pickup and drop off! Price was great, car was great, customer service was great. Seriously...nothing could have been improved.

Nice car, easy drop off procedure.

Cons:

I arrived after 9:00pm because of a late flight which meant the booth was closed but thankfully the lady from Avis in the same booth managed to get me the car I had booked. Otherwise I'd have had to get a taxi and come back in the morning.

Service was good. Car ran well. There was an awful smell in the car like someone had smoked weed in the car and tried to cover it up with some deodorant spray or something. It was pretty bad and did impact our enjoyment of the car for the week.

Car was fine but finding Payless in TYS (Knoxville) airport was almost impossible. They was no desk in the rental car area, I had to go to the parking lot to find them and even then the only signage that said “Payless” was one small (8”X11”) piece of paper that said Avis, Budget, Payless.

Pickup and return, nobody was there, counter was closed. Waited over 2 1/2 hours for pickup and was done by Hertz counter. No walk around the car or anything after a long wait. And returning, drop box or anybody at counter.

The price was good but it was one of those dealer’s choice promotions. The vehicle turned out to be a Ram 1500 extended cab pickup which is way too big a vehicle for someone used to driving a car. After some discussion they were able to change it for a Toyota Carola. This was very appreciated, although the initial stance was they could not change it. The person working the desk didn’t seem to want to be there, but others he called over were helpful.

The reservation did not work. Terms and conditions applied that more than doubled the price (drop off fee). The agent at the desk was rude and unhelpful. Ended up going to Alamo which offered a decent price on the spot.

They had canceled our reservation and car not available. Our flight canceled and rescheduled to later in day- not under our control. Sales person not nice and seemed bothered that we were bothering her. Not helpful at all. We rented from budget - they were very helpful and actually less expensive

They cancelled my rental before I arrived (flight delayed out of LA) and told me I needed to call and tell them I was delayed (umm I was on the plane you morons how was I supposed to call). This happened to several other people in line as well. They overbooked themselves and ran out of cars so they refused to correct their own error. I ended up hoping back on Kayak and getting a car from Budget, which was a great experience, but some others that had their reservation cancelled were unable to get a car.
