Pros: Everything was so wonderful, amazing friendly service by all staff and hotel was quaint, spotless, neat & cosy. Perfect location away from hussle of main city squares but plenty of restaurants and cafes close by plus beside the start of the canal tour.. meant we walked absolutely everywhere in Copenhagen (did the Christmas market circuit with ease, little mermaid, palace, Tivoli ) & went by boat for half day. Breakfast buffet was perfect balance of sweet & savory, very fresh with local specialities to allow a visitors taste. Would love to stay here again & happily recommend it without question.

Cons: It was cold inside (integrated heating wasn't working well, and we had to ask for an external heater, which we had to turn off and on in the middle of the night to manage the temperature). The walls were so thin you could hear neighbors in another room loud and clear – no privacy whatsoever. Bathroom design wasn't practical: nowhere to hang a towel. It was quite dark inside. Nobody came to clean the room during the first couple of days

Cons: Morning coffee from vending style machine during expensive breakfast was awful, so we ate breakfast out each day. Breakfast buffet itself was nice , but excellent coffee is essential. Nespresso coffee in rooms was better. $5000 US for 8 days is so expensive. Thank heavens it was a conference expense.

Pros: Everything was so wonderful, amazing friendly service by all staff and hotel was quaint, spotless, neat & cosy. Cons: Nothing .. everything was truly thought of. Even had a grab coffee/tea snack bfast if needed in lobby.. Hubby is a pilot so lives in hotels and he couldn’t fault it either.

The television was big and was great to be able to connect our iPads to watch our own stuff. The shower and the spacious bathroom was excellent, probably on of the best showers I’ve had in any hotel. The restaurant was very nice. Had a great steak in there. I can’t think of a single negative. We would definitely stay there again.

Cons: We did not have the right room, but were moved to a room that resembled the one I booked. In the morning there was no water. No cold water, no hot water - no water. We were told we could shower in another room and given a key. Luckily, the water was restored, but only after hours of waiting. Do not stay here until all the construction is finished.

Cons: my flight on SAS 5/21 was cancelled due to Pilots strike so it was impossible for me to honor my res.at Hotel Neptune on 5/22.
I called kayak to arrange refund and was assured that this would happen and you would call me back to confirm. As of today I have yet to hear back from you. Please let me know when I can expect to see the refund on my CC. So we ended up in a beautiful and big superior room, with an easy and big bathroom on the 4th floor. Personnel was very friendly, although "businesslike". The room after a day of citytripping was always superclean. The restaurant for breakfast was a good place to hang out and have your breakfast: calm, beautiful, ... And there were lots of choices for yoghurt, different kind of breads, a lot of cold cuts, salmon and herring (we are in Scandinavia!), fruit, waffles, pancakes, different kind of cheeses each day, ...

Cons: Although there was plenty of choice for breakfast there are some improvements possible: the scrambled eggs, mushrooms, ... were not always warm and the idea of different juices and water coming from one and the same tap (operated by a tablet) seems strange to me. Different coffees (espresso, latte, cappucino, normal coffee, ...) also came from the same tap (ofcourse a different one than for the juices).

The staff were all super friendly and the facilities in the hotel were good too. The area around the hotel is very old and pretty very close to main shopping street, Tivoli and museums.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit dated and didn't fit the look and feel of the rest of the hotel room. The room service menu was made at least partially of pre-made food.

Cons: When we booked in the receptionist tried to up sell our room in a confusing and deceptive manner. Also our towels were removed when we didn’t ask them to be. However this was made right immediately in asking. Personally I didn’t like the shower gel. I would rather have a small tablet if soap.

Cons: Rooms for a hotel in this category are a bit spartan. The hotel is showing some wear and tear. Biggest problem was the noise. It was late September and the weather was not hot, not cold. The hotel had turned on the heat, despite my trying to turn it off. The heat was considerable. I opened the windows to get fresh air and keep the room bearable, but the street noise (all night) was incredibly loud. The hotel is right next to the University, so it was not a surprise as students come home from the bars (until 6am), but it led to a night of little sleep.

Opened in 2014, this central Copenhagen hotel is 450 metres from the Amalienborg Castle. It offers individually designed rooms and free Wi-Fi access. Balinese-style furnishings, 4-poster beds and original artwork are featured in all Babette Guldsmeden rooms. Each has a flat-screen TV and a fresh bathroom with the hotel’s own organic toiletries. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if individuals wish to have a nice hotel experience. My wife and I realized it was not worth staying at this hotel.

Pros: The hotel is just so nice and elegant. From the moment you enter the lobby and until your place your bags in the room. A very nice touch is the Nespresso machine in the room. Further more, as this stay was our honeymoon, the receptionist found us a very nice room, and more nice than the standard room originally reserved. So thrilled and grateful for that.

Cons: The room is too small for the paid price , it was kind of dirty , a lot of hair found in the bathroom , not very well cleaned , the corridor was horribly too noisy , especialy at night , I bearly slept , not recommend at all for 1100 dnk per night for one person

Cons: We did not like that the rooms were way too small. The rooms portrayed online and through the websites make the rooms appear bigger than they are. It was hard for my wife and I to move around and we only had backpacks with us.
The bathroom was another story and we hated it. The bathroom floor is literally one floor where you stand on which you shower, go bathroom, and use the mirror. The toilet holder was barely holding onto the wall and fell off a couple times and the towel holders were in the same condition.

Pros: My wife and I spent two days in Copenhagen and we could not be more pleased with The Strand. It is about a 2 minute walk down from Nyhaven, making it incredibly easy to get to and from. It is also right next to the water and the footbridge across the water, making it very easy to get to the other side of Copenhagen where Christiania is located and wonderful food spots. The hotel also rents out bikes for a fair price and the bikes were incredibly nice. A built in locking feature so the bike is secure when you are gone, it was a wonderful addition to the trip. The room itself was comfortable, the bathroom had a tub, and the bed was very nice. Overall, a great hotel for a good price, we would definitely stay here again.

Cons: If you value your sleep don’t stay here. We had a room that was directly above a cinema the bass was shaking the room until midnight then started again early. I had ear plugs and struggled to sleep. It’s a shame as the hotel has been renovated so nicely but they didn’t spend any money on soundproofing. We have stayed in many city centre hotels and never encounter this issue before

Cons: Being such a large establishment, refusal to provide free luggage storage is very disappointing. Just simply shows how much they value customer satisfaction basically. Maybe I have just been used to free luggage storages around Europe, but this is what I disliked about Generator. Absence of a kitchen makes it quite difficult for a backpack traveller as well, who is forced to eat out in an expensive city :(

Cons: They overbooked 7 people in a 6-bed dorm, and when the 7th arrived, they took whichever of the rest happened not to be in the room at the time and packed down all their things from their bed and gave the bed to the next guest. Then the previous occcupant came back later and found she no longer had the bed she payed for. I did get a full refund but they should be happy I didn't report them to the police for fraud.

Cons: Very expensive parking (190 DKK / 24 h) so coming with a car was just a headache. There's public parking just outside the hostel but only free between Sat 17 - Mon 08. Other times expensive (green zone, 22 DKK / hr) Bathroom didn't have a rug, so it got wet very quickly as soon as someone had a shower. And the door had a small opening at the bottom, so was uncomfortable going to the bathroom with people in the room.

Cons: The toilet was not cleaned properly and had stains from the previous occupants. There were stains on the bathroom walls left from previous occupants (which was cleaned by the cleaner on the 5th day). Walls are super thin, could hear people talking in the hallway (even though we were at the end of the hallway). Radiator was not working in the room, used a dusty and oily phone to call reception, who said they will be up to the room straight away. No one turned up for the whole for the night and we slept without a heater for the 6 nights whilst there. Reception staff were quite unfriendly and spoke in a condescending manner. Would not recommend anyone staying here!

Plenty of elevators for everyone to use even when it was busy. There was a big queue when we were checking out which was dealt with very quickly and we were at the front desk in no time. The price is a bargain too.

Cons: After seeing photos of the rooms we knew that the bathroom was going to be a bit different to the usual. After staying at the hotel it’s safe to say that the bathroom is the strangest we’ve seen, it’s made of completely glass walls with heavy dense frosting to about ankle height, you can still see a silhouette of the person in the bathroom / shower, which means you can see a slight silhouette of them sitting on the toilet too. I don’t know if all rooms are the same but the bathroom was very close to the bed as the room was small. Also there was no lock on the bathroom sliding door. The bathroom wasn’t a problem for us as a couple who’ve been together for a long time, we found it quite funny after the initial realisation. I would think that there would be other people who might not like this situation. No storage space only some hangers on the wall so we lived out of the suitcase, again not an issue for us. No safe in the room so we carried our passports, cash etc around with us. The only other minor thing was having no kettle in the room and having to ask for a cup of tea at the reception for about 30kr / £3.40 which is steep, we decided to go to the 7/11 at the end of the road next time to get tea from there as it was cheaper and on the way back to the hotel anyway.

Cons: The first room was very small than I expected and without a bathtub, so I asked to be moved and we moved to a larger room. the bath cup was missing so I asked and they put it in the next day .. the water was not at all hot and the bathroom was very cold ... I had to pay more than what I had booked, for parking they charge me twice and refund me part but my bank charged me of fees on the first payment. unfortunately i can't recommend this place

The cost was quite high for the standard of the facilities (when compared to other hotels in Scandinavia which were also centrally located) but you are paying for the location more than anything here, with the hotel being a stones throw from Tivoli.

Also Windows are hard to open and you can't sleep with the window open because the clock bell goes off every hour and it loud. Also there's no way to turn off all the lights with removing your card from the door switch which powers the room.

Cons: We had bed bugs in our room and when we told the staff they reacted unfriendly and arrogant and told us that they didn't have any in months. When i showed her the reviews from last month and the months before where they complained about bed bugs she just told us that now guests are only comlpaining once a month not like before every week. They gave us another room which was even worse because the mattress was dirty and full of stains. They just made fun of us and didn't take us serious. They know that they have bed bugs and still take other peoples money and when you tell them they are just arrogant and make fun of you. The pictures are from the room they wanted to move us when we complained

Hotels in CPH are generally tough topic, as they are far from European standards even though they are extremely expensive. And here comes Maritime ;) which I consider a good choice and proper "value for money" proposition when you are looking for 1-2 days stay. Pros: Super location, Everything is nearby, and transportation and major attractions. The breakfast is good. Tea and coffee around the clock.

Cons: HORRIBLE INTERNET. Rooms were okay, not great. Didn't always feel super clean. Overall it just did not seem to match up to the price.

Pros: Centrally located to most of the sites and easy metro access.
Nice to have tea available 24 hours a day especially on the cool and rainy days.
Cons: Room was very small. We couldn't walk around the bed without having to go single file. Pretty bare bones for the cost of the room. They ran out of breakfast food 30 minutes before closing time on morning without making anymore for the quests.

Pros: Location is prime and rooms were clean.
Cons: Staff was not welcoming and helpful only upon request. Property is functional but far from the service provided at global chains. Seems they can make the property more charming without excessive expense, which would compensate for the simplicity of services.

Pros: I am returning customer to this particular hotel, so consider it as base part of my opinion. Hotels in CPH are generally tough topic, as they are far from European standards even though they are extremely expensive. And here comes Maritime ;) which I consider a good choice and proper "value for money" proposition when you are looking for 1-2 days stay. Breakfast are quite standard but good enough, no matter if you are vegetarian or not.
Cons: Introducing coffee express for breakfast (to have true espresso/cappuccino) would be really nice. Be aware that the building is kind of old and standard of rooms varies widely, you could consider it a little random (sometimes you get nice room with tiny bathroom, sometimes you have tiny room with tiny bathroom, and I once had a tiny room with bathroom twice bigger than room it self). But still they all are good enough.

Cons: Hotel WiFi / internet connection was unstable. Rooms badly insulated, noisy. Cleaning lady was very loud and couldnt stop talking which is not cool when you try to sleep a little longer on january 1st.
