Cons: The only complaint is that when we asked for a taxi on departure the concierge agreed a fixed rate (DKK275) with the taxi driver that was much more than the cost of the journey on the meter (DKK 135). The rooms needed some updating/refurbishment (e.g. the bathrooms).

Cons: Rooms for a hotel in this category are a bit spartan. The hotel is showing some wear and tear. Biggest problem was the noise. It was late September and the weather was not hot, not cold. The hotel had turned on the heat, despite my trying to turn it off. The heat was considerable. I opened the windows to get fresh air and keep the room bearable, but the street noise (all night) was incredibly loud. The hotel is right next to the University, so it was not a surprise as students come home from the bars (until 6am), but it led to a night of little sleep.

Pros: The hotel is very nice. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and my room was very clean.
Cons: Having to carry heavy suitcases up the entrance stairs. My standard double room was very small. It was not large enough for me to open up my hard shell Samsonite suitcase on the bedroom floor. I could only open it up in the entrance of the room outside the bathroom which was across the entry door. So each time I wanted to leave my room I would have move the open case away from the doorway or close the case. The space around the bed was so small I could hardly open my hard shell carry on luggage case. I did not feel it was good value for money at a cost of DKK 2,580 per night (approx. AUD 556) due to the size of room and quality of furnishings in the room.

The hotel should have made some sort of small gesture to compensate us for this.
Also the breakfast included thawed frozen fruit which had turned rancid one day. The next hotel in Bergen had FRESH fruit. like melon, cantaloupe and kiwi. was was cut up and delicious.

Pros: Really really nice person who checked us in, his feedback and advice was very appreciated, can't say the same for the rest, they seemed a little tired. Location was of course brilliant.
Cons: Can understand that I booked a normal room, but the immeadiate view outside my room was construction so that was a little disappointing. I suppose it's more expectation versus reality, expectation that since you're in a nice locality that you might at least get a street view, not an obstruction since it's a super expensive hotel. Also out of 5 staff I met only one was super nice and warm.

There was no assistance with luggage, I had two rather large suitcases. Breakfast was good self serve, but service at the restaurant outside was ridiculously slow. Amir and other kitchen staff did a wonderful job. The location was good with easy access to many attractions. The concierge ( Patrick, Tom ) are absolutely the best in helping customers. Adrian helped us with our requests. The front desk team, especially Rachel, were pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Always had a smile while performing their duties under trying circumstance. The restaurant staff were also terrific, but the menu needs to be expanded for such a magnificent hotel. Will stay there again if we return to Amsterdam. Thanks to everyone for a pleasant experience.

Cons: A very stylish hotel - but frequently style over functionality. Bathroom had a big bath but no hook for the shower and no shower curtain, so inevitably the bathroom ended up getting soaked; gym was small and had the cool-looking wooden machines, but they are difficult to use effectively in a small area; a built-in room divider at the bottom of the bed to give the effect of a separate sitting area but resulting in the feeling that the whole space was cramped - that kind of thing!

Pros: On the other hand: the room was warm and clean and the hostel itself had a cool vibe including a small cinema and game room. Location was good too (5 min walk to Tivoli and Town Hall Square). The staff were nice enough but you have to check yourself in on computers - not really what you want after a long journey I'd stay again because of the good location but would definitely take earplugs and an eye mask.
Cons: The lighting situation in the dorm room was annoying. If someone in the night used the WC in the room the automatic lights would stay on for like 10 minutes lighting up the whole room - glass doors are not a good design here! The constant buzzing fan in the WC was also annoying all night = not a great sleep. It's a shame the beds are build like they are (like a cabin) and then they didn't bother adding a curtain on them to give that extra privacy. I thought the food was overpriced for what was offered - nobody wants an ice-cold bagel for breakfast (go to a bakery instead for better quality and slightly lower price). Also serving all drinks in disposable cups isn't cool. I heard you had to pay each day to use the kitchen which is strange for a hostel and not supportive of budgeting travellers.

Cons: the hotel was not in full capacity in low season. the room given to us was all the way in the back next to the dumpster with utilities view. When requested a different room with a more decent view, received the same response of having no other room in the same category and requested higher price for a different room. My reservation was not cheap, and i don't think is fair to be in an unpleasant room when the hotel has available capacity to make its guests´stay pleasant.

There's a standard version of breakfast at no charge and if you would want something more fancy, i.e. bacon, fried eggs, then you have to pay. Everything in the breakfast should be for free. I think the hotel instead of making more money, they lose customers.

Cons: The property did not respond to emails or messages via booking.com. First they cancelled one reservation I had and also wouldn’t help change to a lower rate that was advertised. Even if they could not accommodate I did not get any replies to my emails and the message reply I received was after my stay and even after responding, I got no reply again. Poor customer service. The bathroom shower is poorly designed, water sprays everywhere and basically floods the floor. The rooms are quite basic for the price. The hallways are dated. Check in can be hard to find during happy hour as it’s loud and actually at the bar. The elevators are slow. Some staff are lovely and some look and act like they don’t want to help. When I asked for more towels since my bathroom practically flooded the receptionist replied that I’ll get some (more) when housekeeping comes later that day. Really wanted to love my experience here as the hotel is raved for it’s design and such but didn’t.

Cons: We visited during a particular hot weekend and the rooms were boiling. There is no aircon in the hotel so fans are left in the room. The fans don't work that well. We didn't open the windows on the Saturday night because the street was so noisy, we could hear the noise when the windows were shut. Several times are key card stopped working so we had to keep going to reception to get it fixed.

Only thing was shower curtain didn't reach the floor so that got a bit wet. But a minor thing. Soap, shampoo provide. Pros: Having read previous reviews we were a little concerned, really had no need, booking in was easy , reception staff took the time to show us location on the map they provided, also places of interest for us to visit. One evening it was raining, and staff straight away offered us an umbrella. Rooms are clean , bed comfortable, our bathroom ( room 312) was huge. Only thing was shower curtain didn't reach the floor so that got a bit wet. But a minor thing. Soap, shampoo provide. Breakfast was very good , good fresh choice , always being replenished , Orange juice was delis. Assorted tea's, yogurts, cereal, eggs, bacon, beans, pate , meats. cheeses, tomatoes, cucumber, and fresh baked pastries. Breakfast staff always polite and cleaning staff were the same.

Cons: I arrived after 12:00 and was told that a room at my level was not available while others were allowed to go to their rooms. I asked if I could be called or texted when it was available, I was told no, I just needed to keep coming back and asking. That is not 4-star service.
I found out later from a friend that she was told the same thing, but she told them no, I want a room now, and she was given one.
On top of that, the rooms are very small for a 4-star hotel. I won't stay there again.

Cons: When I walked in, the reception was not in the first floor, you had to go up the stairs. A bit confusing and unsure that you have the right location. It smelled like beers, the floor was dirty. It looked like a frat house. Around the hostel, there were many bars and small restaurant therefore, many young people was partying. The streets were dirty and smelly. I only felt 'safe' when I got to the room.

However, what was the worst about this hostel for me was something else... They try to get as much money as possible for literally anything. No luggage storage, just lockers you have to pay for. You are not allowed to bring your own food - you should eat in their restaurant only. No kitchen, not even a kettle... What you safe concerning accommodation you pay for food. Instead of an ice bar, they should build a kitchen. There is also a building site very near and noise from that place woke me up pretty early in the morning.

The bar area (which used to be a very nice big lounge area) is super noisy on weekends and just meant for partying - not actually in favour of calm guests. The hostel makes you pay for everything extra, even storing the luggage upon arrival and departure. The rates (roughly 1€ per hour) are ridiculously high. Another thing is the existence of the absolutely nonsensical ice bar in the ground floor. For once, groups of drunk people tend to block the entrance, and is such a place really necessary?

Pros: I think the best thing about this hotel is its location. It's located at walking distance from Copenhagen's central train station, Tivoli Gardens and even Copenhagen center. There is even a bus station close where you can take the 5C bus straight to the airport. There is also a supermarket nearby. The room was clean, and pretty ok in size, in my opinion. Plenty of clothes' hangers. Breakfast is typical but you won't be left hungry. Wi-Fi connectivity was ok.

The room was perfect for one person, although I wouldn't have wanted to share it! There was a double bed, and an overhead cot, and I had trouble imagining having more people there. But for one, it was plenty roomy. The staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful, exactly what any hotel would want to have. As for location, I couldn't believe how close I was to a number of things I wanted to see, and how close I was to public transportation to anywhere I wanted to go. Good places to eat within a few blocks of the hotel.

Cons: The bathroom was very small and taking a shower there was a challenge. There wasn't a separate space for showering so the whole bathroom was getting soaked, despite the shower curtain. Shampoo/Shower gel package was not practical. If your hands were wet, you couldn't tear it open. No shower caps (you need one if you don't want to wet your hair) or hair dryer (I don't know if you can get one at the reception though). Beds were a bit small. I didn't also like the room lighting. There were only spotlights and so the room was quite dark in the night.

Cons: Could they make the escalator 2-way? That's the only thing I thought could be improved. It goes up as soon as you approach it, but down meant stairs & I was having problems with stairs on that trip.

Cons: When we booked the hotel,when we asked for a quiet room, I didnt realise they wer upgrading us to a deluxe room which was at a higher cost. Perhaps I should have realised when we got the credit card statement. So my fault there. In previous stays in copenhagen when we asked for a quieter room,there was no extra charge. Overall surprising nice hotel.Staff were good.

This hotel lacks that in all features, from the random missing ceiling panels to the individual lights (maybe 10-15 switches) in the rooms to the giant curtain covering ...a wall... This place needs updating. Nothing was that bad, but we stayed in nicer hostels in Copenhagen

Cons: Listing this hotel with “parking” means every hotel in the world in a city offers parking, because there are streets around it where you can pay a fee to the city for parking! Also, there was no provided smart phone as advertised, the room size of the biggest room is not matching the 19m2 and the cleaners managed to move almost any part of our personal belongings, but not picking up the towels and robes provided by the hotel. The building resembles nothing like the photos you see, it‘s old and not that designed at all. There‘s an entrance hall added to the building, that‘s the only part which is bright and chique. Rest resembles the bates motel! Breakfast was lousy for the price of the room. No fresh rolls, really standard buffet. Worst place for that money I have ever stayed in! Had much better places for half the price!

Cons: Hotel is located literally right next to the train tracks. Half of the rooms (odd numbered) would be ok, since they are on the opposite side, but if you have an even numbered room, the trains will be passing within a few meters of your window at all hours of the night. The windows are also not insulated against the noise, so there is little chance you won't be woken up multiple times. The hotel provides earplugs for this, but still... Also, no air conditioning.
