Renting at the airport is not good. Avoid it if you can. We dropped the car off at a downtown location and they were great. Drove from Montreal to Eastern Quebec and not a problem driving in Montreal.

The counter should be open until 1am. We arrived at midnight and representatives had already left. Therefore, we could not take the car. Fortunately, Avis had cars available.

Budget tried to give me a sedan even though I paid for an SUV. This was right after they gave away an SUV at no extra cost to the person in line in front of me. They took an hour to find another SUV.

They told us they had an electric car for us but I did not reserve one. Then the agent found a car for us and as he had the keys in his hand, another agent took them for her customers stating that they had been waiting longer. A bit of a mess.

The pick up and drop off process was straightforward and painless, and the agents were fluent in both French and English, which I appreciated because I speak English (I am always ready to try in French, but after only a few words, French speakers in Quebec can tell immediately that I am anglophone, and they switch to English right away). The vehicle was in excellent condition and performed flawlessly for the two weeks we had it. I would gladly use National again.

I booked online through Kayak, who set up a vehicle through National. The pick up at National was quick and easy. The vehicle was very clean, no issues with the car or weird sounds. It made the long drive a lot more enjoyable. Price was good. Only downside was the winter tires were taken off a little soon, ran into some gross weather.

We were in a bind when our connecting flight from Montreal to Quebec City was abruptly canceled. Opting to make the 3 hr drive instead, many other rental companies told us they were out of cars. Not Enterprise. We made a reservation quickly on Kayak and had a car in a matter of minutes. The whole process was a breeze and a special shoutout to the young clerk at the desk for going above and beyond to help us!

I rented thru Kayak the price they gave me was not the price they charged me they charged for a different drop off location which is not true and after menu trying to reach out no answer I won’t ever book thru kayak again they don’t Honoré their price bad bad reviews

Although pick up was slow because they seemed extremely understaffed. There were a lot of customers with booked cars but only two employees . Thankfully the two that were available tried very hard to make everybody happy. The car was great and return was smooth.

Pickup and drop off were swift. No major problems with the car, however there was a bad smell in the vehicle. We had to buy an air freshener to get rid of it. We told the management upon arrival and they did give us a discount on our reservation.

Pick up at airport was extremely slow, long line and only 1 available agent. We had reserved an economy car but were told they were out of that size and we had to take a Buick Escalade. We chose an economy car because it would mean using less gas, instead we got a car that used more gas and cost more to fill up. We were not happy about this experience.

The Avis reps at both ends were fantastic. Helpful and patient in every possible way, so taking all the stress out of what can be a rushed and uncertain event. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to review a car hire, that's how good they were.

To our surprise, the office was closed when we arrived around midnight. We had to sleep on benches until the staff arrived at 7 AM. One of the tires was leaking air, so I drove 2 hours round trip from where I was staying to the airport to get a new car. I requested a free day, but they only gave me a $50 credit (I was paying $175/day for the car). The new car I got was not full, about 8 liters low. Chiselers.

Pros:

Pick up and drop off were easy for an off site airport location. The car was in very good shape.

Cons:

Many hidden fees. The total was more than double the original quote price. During paperwork I had even asked what the new price would be with the mandatory insurance, and I was told the quote plus the insurance which was a price far less than what I ended up being charged. If you rent from them, demand an invoice in advance so you know exactly what you'll be paying. I personally would not rent from them again.

I specifically made my reservation two weeks in advance because I needed a minivan, however when I arrived to EZ Rent a Car, there were none available, and no reasonable accommodations or compensation was offered. They didn't seem to care, at all. This is unacceptable and I will never do business with EZ Rent a Car again.

Pros:

Nothing. This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. They did not have the car (minivan) that I reserved. Worse yet, the person at the counter (bald guy) was shockingly rude and started yelling at me. I've never seen or experienced anything like this before and hopefully never again.

Cons:

Worst experience ever. Please use one of other rental companies across YUL. EZ is fly-by-night operation off-airport. Have to call for shuttle (waited for 30 mins). Didn't have car I reserved. Service was extremely rude, arguing that he didn't know b/c "computer was down," and yelling at me.

Off-site location made pickup tedious. Leave extra time! Advertised as Europcar, but is Routes for all intents and purposes. Car pickup paperwork is onerous. Make sure you have lots of ID's and copy of insurance. Counter rep took 91 pictures of car to show condition - somewhat intimidating. Spent 20 minutes checking car upon return, including more pictures. Agreement promised gas was full, whereas it was 7/8. Made return a bit challenging. I would not use Europcar (or Routes) again due to savings vs inconvenience. Rent with company that has pickup and dropoff at terminal!

I arrived and the car that i reserved was not there and they have no solution from me. So i had to cancel direct with the compagny on line and e took me 2h30 to found another car, elsewhere and i couln't have the unlimited km , so i paid more that i was expected.700$ more.very desapointed.no services, no help.no nothing.

I had assumed this would be a reputable car rental establishment. It’s nothing but a cabin close to the airport. There was no shuttle available to pick me up so I had to get a taxi there. Drop off was a shambles with around 10 people waiting to pickup their cars. There was no drop off procedure and manager kept cabin locked and let o my one person on at a time which left me pounding on door repeatedly as I didnt want to miss my flight.

Would never ever rent any car from this unprofessional rude rental car company. 1. Extremely rude staff 2. Totally untidy and unacceptable condition cars for rent 3. Unacceptable wait times for shuttle pickup from the airport and also to finish formalities to pickup the rental car 4. Reckless and attitude issues of the staff 5. Not worth even a single penny of mine for the service I received
