This is a new parking garage and it seems it is only partially in use so the exit signs are not accurate. The staff did not inform me of this or how to leave the garage upon pick up. The signs show exits that end in barricades and after 20 minutes of driving in circles I had to ask another employee (not a car rental employee, as I couldn't find anyone around to help) in the garage informed me that I need to go through the "return" area in order to leave the premise. I had to help another couple out of the garage as well as they were also confused. This could have been avoided if the staff were to inform renters upon picking up their car.

I rented a car to drive from Montreal to Boston in snowstrom and NOBODY told that the car does NOT have winter tires. Pure waste of time and money.
Everything was excellent and the service at both counters were amazing mostly the agent who prepared my vehicle. She went out of her way to give me what i needed. She was amazing

We were in a bind when our connecting flight from Montreal to Quebec City was abruptly canceled. Opting to make the 3 hr drive instead, many other rental companies told us they were out of cars. Not Enterprise. We made a reservation quickly on Kayak and had a car in a matter of minutes. The whole process was a breeze and a special shoutout to the young clerk at the desk for going above and beyond to help us!

Great experience with Avis at the Dorval airport. It was quick, efficient and pleasant. I was out in under 10 mins, seemed like 5mins. Aiemann helped me out, he was very polite, professional and pleasant do deal with. The car was clean, fuel tank was full no complaints whatsoever. In this day and age it's rare to get A+ customer experience like this, please keep up the great work Avis!

Horrible long waiting at hot airport Montreal. Rest was okay.
The lady at the front desk who checked us in was indifferent. After completing the check in she asked us to wait to be called for our vehicle. All people in the waiting area, including all of those who arrived after us came and left. After almost 30 minutes we approached the lady and asked when our vehicle would be ready. She replied that she had forgotten to ask the valet to prepare a vehicle for us. Very poor service to say the least.

The counter should be open until 1am. We arrived at midnight and representatives had already left. Therefore, we could not take the car. Fortunately, Avis had cars available.

When I arrived to pick up the car I was forced to wait over an hour for a car to be available. The entire waiting area at Thrifty/Hertz was packed with people sitting around waiting for their cars, as though it was a surprise that people showed up for their reservations. All of the other rental car counters were generally empty. Those companies moved their customers in and out. So it wasn’t just a busy day — those other companies were there in the same conditions.

It is the customer relation that is awful at Routes. Never accomodating. Asking for exhorbit sums for protection. Very suspicious company. Refused to give me the car I paid for in total because they judged my Driving permit invalid because it has no picture - which is the case for a lot of people working for the government of Qc in the North. If the Gvt issued it, in itself it valid! I tried to show them my medical card with my picture and offer a proof on insurance, but nothing did it. I had to go to the Montreal Airport to rent a car for more than double the price because of this. I spoke to one of my colleagues at work who told me they had a similar incident with them.

It was difficult to find where to return the car at the airport. Went to the counter to ask for help and Dollar employees couldn't care less. Employees from a different agency (Alamo) gave indications to find the exact location to return the car. The whole thing took so long that we ended up missing our flight.

Cat was nice. Pick up was not good. Car we booked was not available. We needed the large car we booked based on passengers and luggage and we had to wait for 90 min for them to locate a car for us. Book as specific car, expect that car to be available when you arrive. This didn’t happen.

There were many unpleasant surprises with our Europcar booking. - This company is NOT on-site at the Montréal airport— you have to take a shuttle to their location - Unclear and counterintuitive pick up instructions— we had to call the company to send a shuttle, and they met us at Departures instead of Arrivals - Very small company and extremely slow service - Require ID and several forms of address verification, things that most travelers wouldn’t have on them (copy of a bill, bank statement, etc) As a US citizen, it felt more like registering to vote than get a rental car. -CARS CAN ONLY BE DRIVEN IN QUEBEC and one neighboring province. Since we needed to cross the US border, the car we’d reserved would not work for us. This was NOT clearly stated during booking or at confirmation. Another person in our shuttle group had the same problem, so it must happen often. - The driver was kind and did let us take the shuttle back to the airport to get a rental car from another agency. - Overall, a HUGE HEADACHE and very disappointing.
