Hotel is very nicely and tastefully decorated, lots of artwork and fancy walls, ceilings, etc, and our room was very comfortable. They gave us a free upgrade upon check-in (from a deluxe room to a grand deluxe).
Location is perfect - it is right in the middle of town, close to all the attractions, restuarants, and shopping. Yet the inside of the hotel is very quiet and relaxing.
Breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) was AMAZING!! Excellent food, lots of choices, and of course excellent service from the staff.
I think it would be OK for kids, but it is probably better suited for adults.
My wife and I had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this hotel!

Cons: We got there late at night and could not get to the street. The stuff is nice and polite. the hotel was too kitchy for us, the price was very high for the value. The room they gave us was very far and noisy from the motors of the a\c. With this cost you would expect more!

Pros: I stayed at this hotel with my husband for 7 nights. We originally booked a deluxe rm & on arrival the hotel upgraded us to an executive suite which we appreciated. It was lovely & very comfortable. The location is excellent, straight across from the train station. Noise was not an issue. Hotel well insultated from outside noise. The downside was breakfast could have been more varied. Various items ran low eg croissants/bread, there was a slowness to refill these items. Basically,iit wasn't topped up. The threadmill in the gym was not working & was not repaired even though we inquired. Hotel very expensive, 2 drinks cost €14. The hotel is way overpriced for the services provided. Would have to re-think if I would stay there again

The room smelled disgusting, and we had to keep the window open to circulate the air...and also to cool us down because the heat setting in the room was unbearable and not adjustable.

Cons: While pleasant, the front desk staff were not very helpful. We stayed on a Sunday night, and upon returning from our day trip, we requested a recommendation for a local hotel. We were told "It's Sunday, you'll just have to walk this way (with an arrow on a map) and see if anything is open." While we understand that many restaurants are not open on Sunday, it would be useful for the front desk to be able to provide at least one recommendation and directions for those of us not familiar with the area. In particular this would have been helpful, as the menu at the restaurant offered very limited (something like four) options, and indicated that many were "made with frozen ingredients."

Cons: On web site. hotel looks ultra modern, it is not. Reception area is fantastic but when you get upstairs you realise it is quite old. Bathrooms have been modernised. Sink in bathroom is a farce as the stopper/plug does not close and nver will. ( it does not close according to manager or whoever came when we complained) What are men who wet shave supposed to do, use the Bidet!!!!!. Rether awkward, I would have thought. Also felt the beds were rather small. My friend is short and she felt her feet were practically hanging out the bottom of the bed. It would really have been nice if thre was somewhere to sit or a bar, but there is a minute reception area and that is it as regards any public space.

Cons: Our trip included multiple bookings, with other chains as well, like Accor, Best Western (this hotel). Accor was kind and updated their policy, canceling the booking. But Best Western refused. They offered us instead 20% discount on a further booking. Very generous!

In order to get anywhere, including the conference centre, you have to walk along the side of a dual carriage way where there is no pavement, and past several prostitutes and their meeting ground which can be very intimidating and unpleasant. I would not advise that young women stay in this hotel alone for this reason unless you plan on getting taxis to go anywhere.

Pros: The Grand Hotel Elite was a great find. Excellent value and the staff went the extra mile to make sure the stay was perfect. The location is great, as you are only a 25 minute walk from the city center and close to a lot of wonderful restaurants and stores for shopping.
Cons: The only complaint is breakfast. I'm not a fan of cold, runny scrambled eggs. Yet this was standard fare every morning. Definitely not worth the 10 Euros they charge for it.

Cons: The bed was hard. The restraunt staff was rude and we ended up leaving due to the delay in service. Too much smoking on a non-smoking floor with no hotel enforcement of their policies. Air conditioning was broken and despite two phone calls to front desk and one visit by staff, it was never fixed.

Pros: I wish I could give this place a better review. The room was very comfortable and they had great freebies, more than just the usual shampoo. And the breakfast is excellent (although we were there early, around 7:30), even though some others have complained about it when arriving late. However, it was over 30 in Bologna and muggy when we were there (even at night!) and the thermometer in our room was showing 29 when we arrived. There was no point trying to turn it up as the A/C is controlled by the front desk. Yikes! Never heard of such a thing before, but it's true. The temperature only decreased by a degree that first day. The second day was even worse--the A/C was "broken" and only repaired late in the day. Of course none of this matters if you happen to be visiting outside the summer months...oh yes, almost forgot. The electricity went out in our room altogether on the third day, but was taken care of promptly when we notified the front desk.

Cons: The hotel is on a main street, my room was on the first floor facing the street hence there was very loud traffic noise. The room was extremely hot. I was told by the staff that the ventilation system cannot be used until mid-April and my window was broken. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told they were too busy. Not a nice stay at all.

Cons: restaurant downstairs gets a little rowdy in the evenings, but you can't really hear it from the rooms. The exercise area is a little bit of a joke, but at least there's something.

Cons: I have been travelling for 3 months now and found that breakfast at the hotel left a lot to be desired. The taps in the shoer over the bath were in an awkard position and I was constantly having to readjust the water settings so avoid either being scalded or jolted by a stream of cold water.
