Overview of BoA

Existing as Bolivia’s national flag carrier, BoA offers a wide range of services that link the country to both North America and Europe. An expansive network of flights is also available throughout South America to destinations in Argentina and Brazil. Seasonal services are also scheduled to Chile, Colombia, Cuba and Ecuador. BoA Regional exists as a subsidiary and focuses on linking more isolated cities throughout Bolivia.

The airline’s primary operating base is located in Cochabamba and is responsible for the majority of domestic services. Long-distance routes, such as those to the United States and Spain, depart from an additional hub in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. A codeshare agreement is in place with Iberia, which promotes the connection of services to further destinations in Europe.

Economy is the only cabin class available on domestic flights and shorter trips throughout South America. Passengers can upgrade to Business Class if they are taking a long-haul flight on a larger aircraft, such as the Boeing 767. The exclusive section has only 10 seats, making for a quieter and more private journey. The reclining chairs are set up in a 2 x 1 x 2 configuration, which guarantees either a window view or direct aisle access. The seats also have extendable footrests and come with large padded cushions.

BoA flies an all-Boeing group of aircraft. A preference is held for narrow-body planes, such as the 737 series, that can roughly carry between 138 and 168 passengers. Yellow, red and green stripes can be seen on the tails of the aircraft in acknowledgment of Bolivia’s national flag.
