Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Great location. The hotel itself is clean and very nice.
We stayed in a pet friendly room as we had our dog. Obviously we have a dog so I don’t have allergies to them but each time we went to the room I started wheezing and has congestion and sneezing. Has to use a rescue inhaler and take meds and nasal spray. I believe the staff is not doing a thorough cleaning and the dander from so many pets over time has built up and causing an issue.
Good Nights Sleep
The bedding was very good. Duvets with nice sheets. My 9 month pregnant wife and I slept well. They upgraded us which was very nice of them.
Gym not being open.
Friendly staff clean and well appointed rooms
Lobby very cold due to construction in areas of hotel
Meh....
Hotel is old and needs updating. Overpriced. Bed was the worst we had ever slept in. TV didn't work. Room was noisy. We were on the 6th floor and could still hear anything that went on in the street. I would not recommend this hotel. Worst part was when I told the front desk about these problems they did not seem to care.
Staff
The staff was fantastic! Very accommodating of a late checkout when we got stuck at an event. Top notch!
Great location and comfortable
The location can't be beat in downtown Asheville.... Walking distance to the festivals, restaurants, bars, etc 1-5blocks away. Rooms are nice, comfortable, modern decor. Lobby is sophisticated yet not stuffy.
Barn door to the bathroom is stylish but doesn't provide much privacy or noise limitations when in the bathroom.
It's fine!
The location in downtown Asheville is great, within walking distance of many restaurants, breweries and shops. The lobby is modern and nice and the staff was very helpful. Free in-room Wi-Fi is nice, albeit a little slow
You can tell this is an older hotel that has been remodeled. The bathroom was tiny and not very well lit. The bathroom door didn't latch and the TV reception was poor. We also had to request an extension cord because there were no outlets by the bed to plug a phone in overnight.
Not so Much
We liked Charles from room service. He was fast and mannerly.
This hotel is geared towards businesses and a place for wedding parties. There are charges to make a local call, charges to connect you to a taxi service and a $50 charge is added to your credit card that remains there for 3-5 business days after you've cleared your account. I understand some hotels have this practice, but I was not told the hotel would charge my account in this manner. When I found the charge on my credit card, I had to call the hotel and hang on for many minutes until someone could explain to me what the charge was for. Also, the navigator wasn't too knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The in-hotel restaurant is mediocre but charges $12.00 for a buffet breakfast that is one level above the continental breakfast served at Hampton Inns. I'd skip breakfast at this hotel and go downtown to a great coffee house. We only used the restaurant because we were given 2 $20 vouchers (included in our package). The breakfast wound up costing us $24 + a tip for greek yogurt and fruit. I would not recommend this hotel as my first choice.
Many aspects a plus, however. . .
Location, general comfort, capable staff.
Noisy vending area right outside the door; unattached drain cover in the tub; tub faucet handle awkward to operate; main door handle also didn't operate smoothly. For $200+ I expected more attention to detail.
Decor too modern for my taste, very stiff visually and functionally in common areas
