Pros: The hotel is really lovely and very comfortable. We had a great suite which was really luxurious with a stting room and from there you walk into the bedroom. The bathroom was big with a bath and shower. The hotel was spotless with a lovely sitting area. The restaurant was lovely with an outside terrace where you could have dinner weather permitting. The food was really good and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is about a 20 minute walk from the main street but only 5 minutes on the tram. There is also a shopping centre about a 5 minute walk away with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.

Cons: There was a public holiday so all the shops, banks and many restaurants were closed for the day, it would have been helpful if we had been advised of this as we left the hotel for a day of ambling around the city which was like a ghost town. This however is a minor issue.

Cons: They dont let you book a breakfast included deal online. Also they take a seperate hefty deposit from your credit card which after 4 days still hasnt been returned in my case. The deposit is over $600.

Cons: This was definitely not a business hotel. The room decor was old and out of date. The beds were soft and lumpy. I asked the hotel staff to fax a document for me and it took 2 day to go through. Most disappointing though, upon arrival I double checked with the hotel that they offered dry cleaning, dropped of my dry cleaning and confirmed exactly when I could expect it to be ready. Then, on the day it was supposed to be ready I was delivered two packets of laundry: one a pile of dry clean only cashmere sweaters that had been washed in the laundry and are now ruined. And two a rumpled bag of skirts that had not been dry cleaned at all with the explanation that "dry cleaning was not available." I will never stay in this hotel again.

Pros: I was attending a meeting at ETH. This hotel was much less expensive than hotels located closer to ETH. It was a short (and convenient) light rail ride away or a long, pleasant walk. The room (single queen) was small but quite usable. Everything was nice and neat but not fancy. There were a reasonable number of decent restaurants and a bakery nearby, and the location was reasonably quiet. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Cons: I booked this online thinking it was a budget hotel, considering the price. Receptionist didn't greet us with a smile nor he was being rude or anything but room is already booked and we're checking in at 6pm so I guess he thought no need to be nice.
Surprise came next morning. While we were checking out he asked 49chf and I was shocked as for why. It was for the breakfast we ate. Now, nobody told us anything about breakfast not being included and its hotels around this price range you would assume it is. I was really furious about it coz only salami yogurt and coffee at 22chf per person breakfast wow l. What a rip off!
What annoyed us the most is that receptionist guy didn't give any info about absolutely anything but when it comes to collect money.... I even had to ask about the Internet connection, he said 'written on the paper', the stuff that he gave us with the room key.

Pros: We arrived from USA 10am, They allowed us to check into our room about 11:30 (once it was cleaned).
Cons: So far we have stayed in 3 hotels in Switzerland. The Britol was the only hotel that we had to pay for internet services. The reason I am doing this survey is because the hotel we are currently staying in has free wireless otherwise I would not take the time if it was on my dime and when I get back home I would be too busy to complete the survey. Based on having to pay for wireless I will look for another hotel that has free wireless.

Pros: Quiet, easy access to the city, very helpful staff who could speak English as well as German, clean comfortable room. The artwork on the walls of the room were nice, as well.
Cons: Internet access too slow. Connection was plenty fast, but service provider (outside hotel) very slow.

The beds are none standard so a queen bed is two smaller ones next to each other. They must have used some cardboard to connect two smaller mattresses because the bed was so uncomfortable I slept 0 hours the first night. They will tell you they are out of mattress toppers. If you keep asking they will bring you a tinny one that doesn’t fit the mattress but it’s the best they can do...
They give you two single bnlankets for your queen bed. These things are so small that I couldn’t sleep with them. Nothing more romantic than sharing a queen bed but your partner is shivering under her own tinny blanket. When we asked for a queen blanket, we were told the hotel is fully booked and they don’t have any more... so they don’t stock enough bedding for all their beds...
Anyways I could tell you how my complaints lead to a duvet less blanket from the storage room that was so yellow and dirty and still not queen sized but I will skip that story...
DONT pay for the breakfast. Just ask to take a look before you commit. Mush of eggs were watery and the cheese and meat looked like they had been sitting out for days (8am). I have no idea how they get away with this overpriced breakfast.
So atmosphere sucks, food is bad, comfort is horrid, and the staff never asked if I needed anything or apologized for selling a queen room with amenities of a single room.

Cons: I requested for the taxi to International Airport. I am expecting a meter taxi. When the taxi arrived there is no meter and the hotel didn't inform me ahead about this. Taxi charged me CHF 60 and I think this is not acceptable. Hotel should inform me an estimated cost of the taxi before they call.

I highly recommend the hotel for the price and closeness to the tram, which connects easily t all locations.
Cons: The air conditioner was not working correctly. We had to move to another room to feel better. The hotel employee who came to see the problem, claimed that it was due to having four people in the room, ridiculous, but at least he was complacent in moving us to another room , which was much better.

Cons: Although we booked the room for three people, we were only provided with room items for two people, e.g. two chocolates!, two cups, drinks, towels. We were not provided with information about bedding for the third bed. I had to ring reception twice about this problem. Each time I was told that someone would sort this out right away. Eventually we discovered bedding ourselves in a cupboard and a staff member arrived andpresented us with an extra plastic beaker. I notice that other people have made similar remarks about this hotel.

Cons: It's not a 4 star hotel but maybe a 2 star! The cleaners came twice in the room when we were sleeping. Quite rude. The staff was not helpful. The swimming pool was very small and very cold. The rooms were very budget. And in addition to that even if we did not have breakfast, they presented us a bill in which someone gave our room number (without controlling chf 52!!!)... very disappointing!!!

Cons: What's negative is all about service, from the young fellow at reception desk for check-in who takes a lot of time to unpack his own bag when client's waiting for him to finish, to the chamber maids who have unpacked a gift box clearly wrapped as such, forgotten 10 mns in the room after check out. Back to my room for taking this forgotten parcel, I've found the said room service with the items present into the gift-box physically in maids' hands and pockets.

Pros: I am an spg gold member and decided to use the gold elite crossover program at the marriott this year, to be honest the gold membership at marriott accounts fpor a lot more than it does at any of the spg hotels. we got an instant upgrade to a high floor "suite-ish" all windows corner room with a magnificent view of the lake, the lounge access guaranteed a full continental breakfast (think hot scrambled eggs, baked beans, breakfast potatoes and a lot lot more not just some cold apps that I usually get at the spg lounges) and full hot dinner - not just some snacks that spg hotels serve. to top it all vegetarian options at every turn. the hospitality was amazing at every step. I definitely recommend this hotel five star service!

Pros:
Cons: When we arrived to the hotel The receptionist told us that she was going to give us an upgrade (we were happy becuase we weren’t asking for it) so she send us tomroom 3707 ( the smallest room at the hotel, specially for singles). My wife and I were upset about the size, so next morning we went to the front desk and met Joao Reies, great professional who inmediatly changed our room to the one we were expecting it. Thanks to him we had a great night. We want to thank Joao for his actitud and friendly listening to us..

Cons: Poor parking facilities. Expensive and difficult to park a "normal" sized car. A 10-15 minute walk to eating areas. Thai restaurant was expensive and so-so.
