Slice of history
The hotel is quite the little historic gem, clean new bathrooms, and king sized beds.
The room had a musty smell, if thats an issue be aware.
Great location and old-world charm.
Great location, just a block and a half from Hastings St., near restaurants and shops. Breakfast room was great to be in, listening to all the languages and accents. Hotel exudes old-world charm, and my room was very quiet.
The lack of a writing desk was a problem, but I was able to use the nice desk in the communal hall on my floor. Most rooms share the bathroom, and the shower, among several rooms on that floor, but this was never a problem for me (staying almost a whole week). There was also no air-conditioning, but this was also never a problem, with the cool Vancouver weather (never above 70F during a week in July!) and a window that can stay open all day.
Comfortable charming accommodations.
The hotel is undergoing renovations. There were no interruptions in service--but the noise! If it weren't for the charm of the place and the staff, I would have found another place to stay.
The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
The room was quite small.
