8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Room was clean. Pretty garden. Staff was friendly. We booked because of the great reviews but were not satisfied (probably because our expectations were too high).
Cons: Hard to put into words. The decor gave away a gloomy feeling. Room quite dark. Lots of mosquitos, so we coudn't use the garden and pool. (and we used plenty of other pools in other hotels - only a problem there). We just didn't really feel comfortable there. Breakfast was ok. Good, but not as awesome as reviews say. Only ok. We wouldn't stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful big and functional rooms, staff extremely kind and attentive, excellent breakfast with sweet and typical Mexican savory options. Everything was perfect!! The best hotel we have been in Mexico!
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We immediately felt at home at Casa Marlene! The staff is very welcoming (thank you Jesus!!), super friendly, and ready to give you tips at all times. The house itself is just lovely, very pretty. The rooms are nicely decorated, the bed is super comfortable. The accommodation is located right in the city center, so you are close to everything. However inside you do not feel like this at all. There is an enclosed garden with beautiful plants which is very quiet and has some nice sunbeds and a pool. The breakfast is just perfect! We loved our stay and would definitely come back should we visit Valladolid again.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. It was just lovely.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: AC and hot water
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality of the personnel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely oasis in Valladolid, delicious breakfast and we all enjoyed cooking off in the small pool in lovely garden area. Huge room, very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully relaxing garden with dipping pool. Lovely big rooms with comfortable beds, excellent breakfasts with different options each day. All in all, a great place to stay with very helpful staff. The location is perfect, right in the centre. The ADO bus terminal is a short walk as is everything else. Don’t miss a visit to the nearby Casa De Los Venados, a wonderful explosion of Mexican Folk Art set in a beautifully renovated casona. The collection and organisation of this exhibition was an act of homage to the creativity of the Mexican people.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The building is very nice, traditional Mexican house with a very nice garden in the middle. The breakfast offered is amazing! WiFi is very good, there are several routers. The staff is super polite, friendly and helpful. Made our short stay very comfortable! they prepared a printout map with highlights to visit around the city. 24 hours reception and guard at late hours. The location is very close to the central square and safe. Hotel offers also a parking if you have a car.
Cons: Bathroom window didn’t open. The plastic cover of the toilet was missing. The room is old-style which I personally didn’t mind as the apartments are traditional.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was kind and helpful. They had great recommendations on day trips and restaurants. The hotel has a lovely design and was well maintained. Plus, our room had a partially outdoor shower and a hammock!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome when we arrived with comprehensive description of the area and possible tours to do (the hotel map was very well made, easy to use and fun). We did all that the manager recommended and really enjoyed it. The cenotes her recommended were amazing and we were the only people there. The room is massive with a hammock and 'outdoor' hot and powerful shower. Good A/C and comfy, clean beds. The cocktails were good and made in an outdoor bar. The breakfast has lots of good options and was served early for us on one occasion as we had to get up early for a tour.
Cons: The pool could have been cleaner, seemed to be a bit cloudy while we were there. The restaurant attached to the hotel seems to be more of a cafe but is only open 5-10pm. There wasn't a vegetarian option available when we tried to eat there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and helpful people! Nice rooms in a small scale hotel. Good breakfast. swimming pool . Parking space. Child friendly!
Cons: Limited diner menu at the restaurant.

Pros: Our stay at the Hotel San Juan was excellent. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored colonial house. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the unique outdoor showers within the rooms! Pros: This was such a nice hotel with a wonderful staff and accommodations!
Cons: The hotel itself was kind of hard to find, and the parking was limited, although the staff was very accommodating.

Pros: It is a beautiful house, you almost feel at home! The garden is amazing, the pool, the rooms, every detail of decoration and the staff! The location is great, like a little oasis! We have a toddler and she absolutely LOVED the game corner. One of the only hotels to offer such an easy but thoughtful detail. You dont want to leave the place

Pros: We really loved this place! One of the most romantic hotels, feeling like actors in an Indiana jones movie! Kind owner, personal all with a service minded approach like an early breakfast. Beautifull rooms!!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The hotel is not modern and not decorated in my style, but as everything was clean and well organised it didn’t matter. I knew from the photo’s that it would he like that and had no expectations. Dennis is a warm host and works with local people. You can feel the family vibe in the hotel.

Pros: Location within 10mn walking distance to cathedral and main plaza, kindness of the staff, cleanliness, design, pension style and a luxuriant exotic garden. The owner Dennis is very friendly and cares about everyone. Meet the other guests and share your experiences. Dennis has a passion for geology and will teach you a lot about the history of the area from dinosaurs to Maya civilization.
Cons: Everything was perfect
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big and beautiful rooms with unique murals. We loved the huge and comfy bed. Very friendly service as well. The owner gave us a lot of tips on what to do in and around the city. The hotel is at walking distance from the center yet still very peaceful.
Cons: Breakfast was ok. Yoghurt, fruits and cereals are included in the room price. You did have to go and ask yourself if you wanted tea, coffee or juice. Staff could have been a bit more proactive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting, very relaxed, friendly owner and staff, great food
Cons: Everything was great
7.5 Good
Pros: The location , the pool , great breakfast and good service in the restaurant

Hotel Tunich Beh - Valladolid - Bedroom
5
9.1 Excellent (284 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Hotel Tunich Beh places you in the heart of Valladolid, within a 15-minute walk of Cenote Zaci and Calzada de los Frailes. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location and beautiful hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a truly beautiful place. Old colonial style hotel with lots of places to sit and chill. The decor has been choosen with a lot of love to detail. Great breakfast with fruit, yoghurt, cereal and eggs. Good coffee. Its situated in the prettiest street - calzada de los frailes, one of the landmarks, leading up to the convent de san bernadino. The main square with the catedral is only 5 minutes walk away, so the location is fab. We ended up staying longer than originally planned as we liked it so much. The pool is a nice bonus. The room and the bed were large with a wardrobe, proper nightstands and a seperate bathroom/toilet.
Cons: Everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tunich Beh was amazing! So much charm and personality! Very safe even to park, greeted by a friendly "concierge cat". The rooms are extremely clean, modern, and comfortable. Spacious, private, and air conditioned. Even had Netlix on the TVs. The pool is smaller, but beautiful. The open layout was exquisite. The breakfast ($5) was awesome. Omelette with ham and cheese, fruits, coffee/tea/fresh squeezed orange juice, toast, all made fresh in front of you. Valladolid is a little tricky to get around if you've never driven in Mexico before, but Tunich Beh is easy to find, and get to the city center from. If you want to see Chichen Itza or Ek Balam (while you can still climb Ek Balam, the last Mayan ruin you can climb) and their cenotes, staying in Valladolid is a must. The staff was super accommodating, even making sure I got settled in around midnight after a last minute booking. Being able to pay in American Currency was a plus as there are no credit cards accepted. I will 100% stay here again next time. Bring some treats for the cat!
Cons: Nothing. I wish I could have stayed longer. Valladolid seems like it might not be the safest city with the amount of bars on entryways, but I felt completely safe, and felt my possessions and even the rental car was safe on the property.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel with a colorful patio Great location right at the beggining of the calle 41A Secured parking inside Pool perfect for a dip Great value for the cost
Cons: Nothing specific
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely. A very pretty courtyard area and airy front room for breakfast. The room was very clean. Our only complaint with the room was the lack of lights, only one very dim overhead light but we were out and about most of the time so not really a big deal. The pool was nice to have after a hot day of trekking around. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located on a pretty street close to the central square and walkable to the bus station.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice breakfast, fresh coffee and juice and baked eggs
Cons: The TV in the room only supports internet TV, no distribution.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Atmospheric historical house with great style in a tranquil but central location. Simple but charming.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Small and very stylish hotel in a historic building, located in centre of Valladolid five minutes on foot from the bus terminal. Very big and quiet room with large and very comfortable bed, very good shower.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed four nights at the one-bedroom suite, which was very comfortable. The rooms are located around a nice little pool. Very pleasant place to stay!
Cons: The breakfast was not too exiting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff wad very helpful; walking distance to the town. We were allowed to keep our car parked there even after checked out.
Cons: Nothing really; we stayed 1 night & everything was very pleasant.

Cons: Nothing
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Everything was nice. We really enjoyed staying there. Stuff was very friendly and we had to experience the real Mexico.
Cons: Airco smelled like nasty toilet while working. Swimming pool was dirty. After check out waiter run after us and asked for tips! What a cheek! He ruined all the good intension about this place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's gorgeous. The bed was amazing, the cave is better and bigger than the photos, the staff were so kind and genuine, the food is delicious, I had a great massage, I had it pinned as the highlight of my trip and it surpassed all expectations! Also the late check out of 1pm was really appreciated!
Cons: Everything was more than perfect but it's a little far to walk into town in the heat for me personally-20mins so I would recommend renting a scooter or bike which they can organise. My only regret is we missed the breakfast as we were delayed on the road!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything! Mostly the peaceful environment. While it was busy with guests the garden and restaurant ambience was calming and easy. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was comfy and the shower had great pressure. Loved the pools, especially the cave pool, very relaxing! We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, staff and food were both excellent. Parking was easy and an easy walk to the central plaza. Wished we’d stayed another night to unwind more.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful and unique stay. The artwork and mineral salt cave make the stay worth it. Also, the staff is accommodating and the welcome tequila is a nice touch. Try the Zentik Coffee.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The cave
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Laid back atmosphere. The salinas cave with a light beer. Quite the dream. The warm welcome. Ideal place to relax.
Cons: The noise on a Saturday night (dogs barking and loud music).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. Staff, food and facility all excellent.
7.1 Good
Pros: Amazing food in the restaurant (especially the zentik shrimp). Good breakfast (vegan options and nice Mexican coffee). The cave pool is positively unusual and makes for a great experience. Friendly staff.
Cons: The bed was average. Some rooms have nice art, unfortunately we had a plain and boring room. Bathroom was very small and shower pressure was very weak (and took a long time to heat up).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gentleman who checked us in was so helpful in helping us find places to eat and visit. Beautiful little city! This Hoyle was very nice. Narrow stairway going up to our room but the room was very nice. There is a nice small pool in the back with a hammock that we didn't use but looked nice.
Cons: Nothing it was great!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and nicely decorated hotel. Beautiful little courtyard area with a (very small) pool. Great common kitchen. Comfortable beds. Bathroom seemed newer and shower was great. Good location.
Cons: The wifi was not very consistent as it only seemed to work well in certain spots in the room. Room was a little small, though we are a family of five and the room had bunk beds with doubles on the bottom so we were able to sleep comfortably. Neither of these issues were a big deal though and we would definitely stay again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best price,good location,friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We would recomend a stay to anybody visiting Valladolid. The kitchen was perfect to take a brake from town, and to have a meal and a cool down in the pool after trips to pyramids, cenotes etc. The whole family of five felt at home. Very friendly, warm and at the same time highly proffesional staff. Would love to have another stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff and perfectly located
Cons: n/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Nothing Perhaps the airco of the neighbour house...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow, this was a nice place! And also one of the cheapest I could find. Really nice and friendly staff, there is a kitchen available, big room with AC (and really good bed). Clean shower. About 10 minutes walk to the Grand Plaza, I felt safe walking here at night (solo female traveller). And the place was quiet. I think there were lots of other guests staying there but I never saw or heard many people. They have a pool but like other people said, it's really small. I didn't use it.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel staff speak great english and are very polite and attentive. Although small, the place is kept very clean!
Cons: We had issues with the wifi not working. But they arranged with a sister hotel we could use theirs if passing by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the hotel design, the cleanliness and the friendly staff!! We enjoyed it a lot!!
Cons: There’s nothing I would include. Everything was great
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Nice and clean room with very good bathroom (clean, confortable and spacious) - Very good location - Nice common area (little terrasse for having breakfast or diner)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near of the center and a good hospitality
7.5 Good
Pros: The style is very nice large wood furniture, high ceilings, lovely plants everywhere in the courtyard. The day staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful property and right off the main square. We parked and walked.
Cons: The room was lovely but not very insulated we had several mosquitos biting us all night and the bed was awful. No hot water for either of our showers. You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Luckily we travel with ear plugs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and confortable hotel. Really close at the city center and the staff is great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location Nice garden and swimming pool Lovely staff
Cons: Nothing except maybe the mosquitos in the breakfast area, and the fact that we didn’t stay another day
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing rooms and location.
Cons: Nothing was very good all round .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel manager and staff were very friendly and provided us with lots of ideas of things to do. The hotel was charming, well-kept and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in center of city, easy to walk to lots of things. Beautiful little hotel and garden. Very kind staff.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was close to the central Plaza and it was easy to get to the main touristic spots and a lot of restaurants close by. The room and bathroom was clean and functional.
Cons: The airconditioning was properly working, but the room ventilator at the ceiling did not work. When we arrived there were no hangers in the closet and when we mentioned it to the staff they managed to organize 5 hangers, but for 2 persons with no shelves in the closet that is not a lot. The included continental breakfast was only fullfilling the minimum standard and from the 3rd. day we had breakfast in a restaurant close by. The room and the whole hotel lacked atmosphere, a little bit more "mexican-style" decoration would change this impression a lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Kolibri at the breakfast
Cons: The room was a bit small

Cons: No water pressure in the shower, airco is loud
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cool gardens. Nicely situated next to the convent and a short walk into the town centre.
Cons: There was only a frosted screen over the door window door panels so a lot of light came through at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool was not in service, besides that we like this property.
Cons: there were a lot of mosquitoes.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice inner collonial terrace. Beautiful garden and pool, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Cons: Over the email the reception agreed to wait for us by 1AM, bacause of our flight and transfer. Sadly nobody was waiting for us neither answering the phones. It took us an hour to wake up the nightwatch guy by the bell...by the time we were just standing on the street....not a good start.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Nicely located
Cons: The granola was really good, the pastries were not that good.
6.7 Good
Cons: - Room to the street - to expensive for the service and location - Pool was no so clean
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and very nicely kept. Big bed and lovely balcony. The hotel itself was also very beautiful. Good location next to Sisal, and not too far away from the downtown area. Fast-working internet connection. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The price for the room where we stayed was expensive. We could have probably stayed in a similar room at the same hotel for less money. The pool, although beautiful, didn’t meet our expectations as it was not clean. The continental breakfast, served until 9:30, included in the reservation was not enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Confortable room with excellent services and courtesy from staff. available car parking. The hotel is close to the Ek-Balam site.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was very big and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was great and the staffs were lovely.
Cons: The pool needs a bit of TLC and cleaning. There’s no privacy in the bedroom at all as the toilet is in the room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This beautiful hotel is just steps away from the Convent of San Bernardino but it feels like it inhabits its own peaceful world. The lush garden courtyard and pool make a wonderful place to rest out of the heat or to have a delicious breakfast. The staff is lovely and extremely helpful; the rooms are impeccably clean and are decorated with beautiful local artwork and handicrafts (love the wall of masks in the courtyard!). Highly recommended, would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing

Featured amenities include express check-in and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing, always genuine, smiling and very helpful! The location is not an issue either as Valladolid is not a big city. The hotel rents bikes for a reasonable price, so it is easy to see many cenotes in one day for example. The hotel was very well kept and clean!
Cons: The location is not bad but there are other hotels closer to the central park.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room size, beds, personnel, free water, room was very clean good value for the price
Cons: Noisy room, swimming pool not clean
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really helpful and kind. Recommendations were good and the hotel was very clean! Very good price quality ratio!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Basic room but comfortable and spacious. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Wifi worked okay in room.
Cons: Although in town, it is a bit of a walk to restaurants mostly because of the lack of decent sidewalks and walkways. Breakfast, as they tell you is just coffee, fresh fruit and toast. The toast is commercial pre-toasted toast so, hard and tasteless. They should get fresh bread from a local bakery. Fresh cut fruit was delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very nice and comfortable with an inside small garden and the possibility to enjoy breakfast near it. Only 45mins driving from chichen itza.
Cons: The staff speaks no English and the facility is very humid
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautifully restored colonial style boutique hotel just outside the downtown of Valladolid. The tiling and detailing is superb. The rooms more modest but the overall affect was great. We loved Valladolid. A great place for a short visit.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place was a traditional Mexican accommodation. It was very clean, room was comfy and staff were helpful. They also had parking which was a plus for us! Easy access by foot to the main sights in Valladolid.
Cons: The swimming pool timetable was a bit short (only til 7!) and breakfast was not included, although it could be added for 60 pesos I think .
7.1 Good
Pros: Personnel very friendly and helpful
Cons: The complex was crazy hot. AC didn't really function and there was no possibility to open windows to bring in some cool air.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, secure and quiet place. It has a swimming pool and common seating area with comfortable seatings. Staff were absolutely wonderful and they speak English.
Cons: Breakfast - not the best coffee.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very clean. Good location. Just walk away from the Church with light show. What's more the taco kiosk on the other side of the street is yummy
Cons: A little bit old. The host asked 11 pesos more than Booking price since booking showed the room rate in peso to me but in USD to the host and he charged me with a higher convention rate. It's not a big deal bit Booking could make it better.

Pros: The room was comfortable, clean but no fan, no hair dryer.
Cons: It is very far from town and there are no restaurants, markets around. The hotel's restaurant is only opened at a certain time. There' s no fridge in the room to put food or to have cold drink... I put some food in the kitchen's fridge but only got to it the night before I left. They have lots of extra charges for different services including phone calls and it is expensive. No fan only ac which does not give a good ventilation.
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was spacious, clean, well fitted out and very good value for money
Cons: No hangers in the wardrobe, no cot available even though we pre booked one and the receptionists lacked a little charm and warmth!
6.7 Good
Pros: I liked how clean and quiet it was. The front desk was helpful even though they don’t speak English. Large room with tv also big pool to use.
Cons: The free breakfast was cold.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a good time at Technotel Valladolid. The room was large and the overall layout was in the style of a Hacienda (there was a plantation onn the site of the hotel many years ago). There was a large seating area in front of the room with comfortable seats. The kids loved the pool. The inclusive breakfast was basic but adequate. The hotel is not in the centre, but is only 30 pesos / 3 mins from the main square. But only a few mins from the cenote.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet! Really love this place. The room was very big, the beds are comfortable. The stuff is nice and helpfull but sometimes they doesnt speak english very well. The place is on the end of Valladolid, to the center is 2 km by walk. The breakfast was small but good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and convenient hotel. Rooms with plenty of space. Clean and silent.
Cons: The hotel don't have hair blower.
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff - pleasant looking property - nicely maintained.
Cons: Breakfast was very limited - however the staff were very accommodating and tried really hard to be helpful.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location. Big room. Free parking. Friendly staffs.
Cons: Wifi connection is bad. Not restaurants on site or around.

Cons: The only thing that I did not like about this property was that they would not honour the deal that I had reserved through booking.com. I had selected one of the cabins and thought I was going to get a bit of a discount over the normal rate as suggested when I booked the room. But the staff would not honour the rate quoted and I ended up paying full price for a standard room. This is the first time I have used booking.com and it was an unpleasant surprise. I think I will go back to using Expedia.

Pros: + Hotel is brand new and well located near the center of the city ! + Free parking available near the reception + Staff is really nice + Bedroom is big, clean and new. Furniture was modern and stylish + Bed is huge and clean + A/C works well + WiFi is great and easy access with a sticker on the door for login and password + Pool is gorgeous ! Unfortunately the weather was not with us for our single night and we couldn't enjoy the pool + Great value for money and and great situation if you stay there for a short time
Cons: - Work in progress in front of the hotel which was kind of noisy. Receptionist warned us but hopefuly we left earlier so we didn't hear anything - Staff at the reception only speaks spanish. I have some basics in spanish that helped, but people that only speak English might have to struggle a little bit to be understood - We had cold water only for the shower ! We had explanation in spanish, so with my basics, I couldn't understand how to activate hot water...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, we had a good one night stay. The front desk guy was friendly enough to offer us parking at his own house as the parking place of the hotel was full. Swimming pool is at the other side of the road, we didn't use it. Location is very nice, easy walk to the main square.
Cons: Everything was ok
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool was amazing. Also the location, parking spots and the people who worked there.
Cons: Everything was good, not perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The pool area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel and pool! Absolutely beautiful!
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Cons: The pool is new and cute but you have to cross the street to reach it. When we went back to the hotel in the afternoon we found the room's door completely open, the mate had forgotten to lock it after the cleaning.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very nice pool! Close to the main square.
Cons: The room was very dark, without any usable window. One small window right in front of a wall, another one looking at a gallery. Airco noisy. Bathroom outdated. Room nothing like on the photos. (From those rooms they have 4, on the other side of the street)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I like the staff and the cleaning ness of the room
Cons: Having to cross over the busy road from the parking to the room
6.7 Good
Pros: Huge and confortable room.
Cons: The reception was terrible: too hot, crowded and the receptionist did not even 'welcomed' us. The room is like an appartment. The pool is in a different building on another square and the garagge is small (I had to drop my car in the street).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There are two parts of the hotel: one motel with car parking in front of the rooms and a hotel without parking lot. We stayed in the latter, which is newly renovated and is having a nice pool in the backyard. With view to the pool it was like in a quiet oasis. The hotel is not in the centre, but the 10 min walk there is a good deal for having the pool and quiet rooms. At the moment of our stay, the hotel was building a breakfast room next to the pool.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Avila in Valladolid, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Cenote Zaci and Cathedral of San Gervasio. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I normally use AirBnB but my experiences this year in Mexico have been horrific......noise, staff, customer service, all the details that normally a good hotel attends to is dealt with by untrained, clueless, unmotivated or lazy employees. Pathetic. In the future, I hope to be able to use and booking.com hotels more if the prices remain fair and reasonable.
Cons: As someone who does not speak or understand Spanish at a high level....it would have been nice to have a few channels in English on the TV.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Ávila was amazing. We loved the quiet location yet easy access to the freeway and Main streets. The hotel was very clean and I loved the kitchenettes. The rooms were spacious. It was our favorite hotel of all during our trip to the Yucatán!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It's always a bit of a chore when their English is no better than my Spanish. But the staff were very helpful and gave a great effort. I will happily stay there again.
Cons: Hot water in the sink.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location is specially ideally for those with a car, since it has a parking spot and is just by the highway. There is a nice supermarket less than three minutes away that was really convenient for buying groceries. The double room we stayed at had a sink, a fridge and a table which were much appreciated. Also to my surprise there was a cleaning service every morning.
Cons: There was a considerable amount of tax and surcharge on the price offered on Booking.com, the staff's English was not better than my Spanish and we had problems understanding the reason for the surcharge but in the end we just paid the requested amount and made our own life more easy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Closet to a grocery store
Cons: Waste of space in the boiler room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really good for the price.
Cons: A bit far from downtown.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is new. Super clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly.
Cons: The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town and away from the center. Approximately 12 minute walk to the center. It's great if you need a quite place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room 10 minutes off Valladolid quiet small town community intimidating at first but was all in my head I'll defenetly comeback if in the area room price was low and I would have paid a lot more.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Special location in this Mayan village, near a spectacular church. Friendly staff and very special interior. Nice extras such as an honesty bar and pool table. Great way to experience more of the real Yucatan.
Cons: Communication with staff was only in Spanish. No breakfast served.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was luxurious and had everything you’d need, including laundry.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A mansion with private backyard. Washer and Dryer. Pianos. Roof deck with restroom. Kitchen (for cooking your breakfast) and rooms to socialize. Each room has private bathroom, there were 2 of us and lots of hot water (even though 5 bathroom house seemed to only have 1 hot water heater). House is on Uayma town square easy to walk 3 minutes to taxi for getting to Valladolid. Town is 20 minute drive from center of Valladolid where you have to go for dining.
Cons: The only problems were minor, coffee was all gone. Side window in my room and bathroom could use darker curtains.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very elegant house.
Cons: Nearest grocery store and restaurants are in Valldolid over 6 miles away. The house is beautiful but the furnishings are getting shabby.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house was clean and spacious
Cons: • There was no dryer, so there was no point of washing clothes (needed if going to cenotes); • Snacks, drinks, spices, etc had an extra charge (above the cost) when other places I’ve been it’s given as a courtesy; • Payment had to be done in cash.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful view of a church facade though the bedroom windows. The house is lovely!
Cons: There was nobody to check us in, so we had to ask the local police staff (across the plaza) to call the owner to come and check us in. They do not issue receipts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent quality/price ratio. Spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen available for all guests, nice atmosphere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place, absolutely surprising in the very small village of Uayma. Big manor house, with a very friendly (Spanish-only) host, who offered us 2 huge rooms in the price of one that we booked. The manor house is amazing, with all facilities, including kichen, washing machine, dryer, terrace, billard - and, of course, pianos! Spacy, comfortable and clean rooms. Definitely recommended!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It´s greate the location, in front the Church and beside the main garden in town, is very near to Valladolid, 15 min in popular share taxi, very funny, the taxi get in some steps from the Casa de los Pianos, Xama & Buly recommend this house
Cons: Has no swimming Pool

Pros: Tranquil location beautiful grounds and very friendly
Cons: Some of staff crazy for tips ... envelope left in our room by the housekeepers, no change available at reception on paying the bill are two examples no problem giving tips for good service which we did at restaurant but not for the basics of staying in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a great experience to be able to visit and stay at a historical site
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: Pool and toilets were dirty. Not like the pictures at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great experience!! Place it's beautiful!! Very nice staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great choice close to Valladolid, as an immersion to the past.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Well, we arrive to the place 6 pm and when we asked for the restaurant they said it was closed since 5 pm... and it's usually closed because guests doesn't eat at the restaurant, wich is an irrelevant reason, since is part of the facilities at the hotel. Also, we had the bad news until we arrived that the pool was out of service... so , is a kind of fraudulent ad , they should inform about it through booking.com... since the hotel is in the middlenof nowhere and far from downtown , we asked for reimburse , wich i have not received yet since 5 days ago! I don't recommend this place on my experience, maybe if next time the pool and restaurant are working might be better....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful building and very charming rooms
Cons: Restaurant closes at 4 ? But it's Far enough from town that dinner was a hassel. These was no drinks service at the pool.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An interesting place to be and to know. It is like a hotel museum. We enjoyed a lot the experience.
Cons: There was no Wi-Fi in the room but this was not a problem for us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is gorgeous and well maintained. The red villa was very spacious and comfortable. We really appreciated the calmness of this hacienda, the decoration is amazing. We loved walking around the property, lovely gardens, nice little swimming pool. Breakfast was excellent, home made and delicious.
Cons: They seem to be understaffed. At the restaurant there was only one person (who did an excellent job!) cooking and serving which made things very slow. The kitchen was empty. It would have been nice to have a couple of dishes, glasses, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: ...this is the place what everyone should see if they travel near by...it's not just a hotel, but a castle - museum also... a fantastic place..
Cons: ..it was dificult to find it..., just ask friendly locals...

Cons: Bed and showers and they charge me for a extra breakfast for my son

Pros: Beautiful pool and breakfast was amazing! The garden setting of the restaurant was gorgeous and the huevos rancheros were super yummy.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is very good and convenient in the evening. The location is perfect. The rooms are quiet and there are awesome views from the terra es
Cons: The restaurant is very good, the package options for breakfast are a bit inconvenient, we had a kid of 2y old and if we wanted him to eat (weel, 1 egg is enough), we had to order him a plate and pay for it extra. The pillows are not comfortable and we couls not sleep well

Cons: everthing was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 1 night at the Meson de Marques and we really enjoyed our 2 days around Valladolid. We chose to sleep in Valladolid because it's close to Chichen Itza and is historical town. The hotel itself is unique and well maintained, with beautiful restaurant and common areas. The hotel is wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Gloria and Luis at reception were very welcoming and Gloria arranged for us taxi to a close cenote ( she recommended us Saamal cenote and it was great choice) and also arranged for us a taxi for the next day, which fetch us from the hotel in the morning and took us to Chichen itza and 2 cenotes close to Valladolid and drop us in Tulum in the evening. We had a wonderful day. I would highly recommend visiting Meson de Marque. It was the highlight of our trip in Mexico. I wish we stayed longer there
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Cons: Lovely hotel if you are happy to be woken up at 5.30am!! I paid for a "superior" room which had wooden windows that do nothing to block out noise. As my room overlooked the restaurant I was woken at 5.30 by the staff arriving, cleaning and the setting up breakfast. Totally ruined my plan for a relaxing stay. Moreover the room was tiny and the shower curtain was to short so that each time I showered the floor flooded. I have stayed in this hotel before and the "standard" rooms are more spacious and quieter so if you plan to visit this hotel, don't bother paying extra for the superior rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location downtown. Walking distance to sightseeing. Lovely staff. Excellent restaurant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the atmosphere Clean Location Staff Everything
Cons: The restaurant needs help The food used to be delicious Now is avarage

La Aurora Hotel Colonial is in the heart of Valladolid, within a 10-minute walk of Cathedral of San Gervasio and Cenote Zaci. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Wonderful staff, good location, hot shower, lovely pool, lovey roof small pool.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Good location in centre.
Cons: Not a single sheet without an enormous stain on it, nor a towel. Disgusting. I left a day early having slept fully clothed on top of the bed (the mattress looked older than I am as well).
7.9 Good
Pros: Great family room in a nice colonial style hotel. Good value and location. Nice pool area
Cons: Staff were not very friendly or welcoming at check in. The guy on the desk ignored me whilst he shuffled his papers for a further 5 minutes. It didn't give a good impression
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice, simple hotel in a terrific position, very close to the city center. The place is quite old but it's very clean and the staff is nice. You can buy refreshments at the reception.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely indoor courtyard with pool, off-street parking, 2 blocks from central plaza.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice bedroom in a very well located area. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning greatly appreciated.
Cons: The air condition is a little too strong.
5.8 Okay
Pros: We had a big room with two double beds and windows facing the courtyard of the hotel. It made the room quite dark, but the beds slept fine and it is just a small walk to the city centre. At first sight bathroom looks clean, but there is some mold on the walls because the bathroom stays too moist after a shower. Could use a makeover.
Cons: The airco functioned oké, but was quite loud compared to aircos at other hotels we stayed in. Also smelled a bit moldy! If the neighbours decide to go to Chichén Itza (for example) really early in the morning and they take a shower when they get up, be prepared to be awakened by the noise the showers (the boiler I believe) make. The recceptionists just speak a few words in English.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice beds, a few blocks from center of Valladolid, quiet at night. Friendly staff.
Cons: Hard to control air conditioning. I found it either too strong or too weak.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent. Nice pool to cool off. Helpful staff. Next to Cenote Zaci.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the old colonial architecture hotel and swimming pool was perfect right outside the room Martguerita and Carmina on reception are fun, they told me how to get to local Cenote "Zaci" (10 minute walk) Hotel worked out perfect for 7am ~ 30 minute mini bus ride to Chichen Itza to beet the lineups @ 8am
Cons: 10 minutes away from main town but this makes it nice and quiet :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: All amazing.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Our AC didnt work but it was no problem, they gave us another room. Thanks for that!
