Pros: Rooms were very comfortable with helpful staff. The breakfast was a nice variety of foods.

Cons: I booked the hotel because it advertised free parking. I don’t know how they can claim this with only 6 parking spots at the hotel. When we arrived to 6 occupies spots, the staff told me I could pay for parking on the street (clearly not free parking). They finally agreed to park my car in an alley and move it if needed. Instead, they woke me up early the next morning because they needed me to move my car so another guest could leave (the hotel clerk did not have his driver’s license). This happened again later in the morning... not ‘free parking’.

Pros: Location was convenient and quiet. A bit away from the city center but easy bus/tram ride away. Breakfast was good. I found the little shower enclosure ingenious. Shows you can have a functional bathroom in about 20 square feet. Staff was helpful

Cons: Room was pretty small, but probably in line with other Scandinavian hotels.

Pros: Saga Hotel is a very stylish and comfortable boutique hotel, in a quiet and elegant area of Oslo, fifteen minutes walk from the national theatre, the palace and the main shopping street. (The train from the airport stops at the National Theatre and taxis are available, or without a lot of luggage it's a 15 minute walk - alternatively there are trams from Oslo Central Station). The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent and my room was very comfortable and quiet - I was able to sleep with the windows open without any noise from the street. I was meeting up with Norwegian friends and after calling in to the hotel to take me out they were very impressed and will now be recommending the hotel to their business colleagues. I'll certainly stay here again on my next visit to Oslo.

Cons: Apart from excellent breakfast facilities the hotel doesn't have a restaurant or room service - as a single traveler I prefer not to dine out alone, but as I was meeting friends each day this wasn't a problem on this trip. There are lots of restaurants nearby.

Cons: there has gone a lot of things wrong for us at the grand hotel unfortunately. there has not been room cleaning the whole weekend. the video system dind't work proper and this could not be solved. the spa we couldn't make use of with our 2 1/2 year old, because he should be 3 years. unfortunately they could only inform us about this after we were dressed in our bading suits. the hotel staff wasn't very cooperating.

Pros: This is a warm hotel which seems to appreciate its customers. The room was an elegant modern design filled with quality. It was attractive and stylish and contained a very comfortable bed. We really liked this hotel and will stay there again.

Cons: poor business center (only 1 computer, tiny) poor barkeeper in Grand Cafe: did not know his sherries nor acquavit: served both different sherries and aquavit than asked for. door to french balcony could not be closed properly letting in a lot of noice during the night.

Cons: The staff at reception when I checked in were not very helpful. I was waiting to be attended to and they dealt with three other people who came in after me. There was also three fire alarms going off in the afternoon. Each time I followed the fire instructions and went downstairs but there were no staff there to advise me when it was safe to go back in or what had happened. When I was leaving via the stairs the third time, there was a workman vacuuming the staircase and he told me not to worry and that it was nothing. Not a very professional attitude from any of the staff.

Pros: Stig the Receptionist at front desk who tried to rectify the problems with our rooms

Cons: My wife and I arrived on the 17th August 2015, and on attempting to check-in we were told the "computer system" was not working and therefore we we not able to check in. We were told to either wait (they could not provide an estimate on how long it would take). After a 15-min wait we were checked in "manually". As an American Carlson member, I presented my Club Carlson Gold card, but it wasn't accepted because my trip was booked through Kayak! Nevertheless after a short delay we were in our room. Immediately we noticed that the carpet in the room was dirty, and there were 2-single beds (as opposed to a double as we booked) Credit to the front desk staff who promptly reassigned us to a "newly refurbished" room. The room was a marked improvement over the last, and we happily settled in; unpacking our suitcases and preparing for an afternoon of sightseeing. On return in the evening, we prepared for the night and around 20:00 we tried to lock the door. The door lock did not work. A call to the front desk and a couple of minutes later someone from maintenance was at our door. I explained that the door wouldn't lock from the inside and he insisted that the lock was working. I was a bit taken back by his curt response, but nevertheless invited him to try. What followed next had me flabbergasted! The maintenance employee closed the door, and using his body weight proceeded to to yank on the door handle until he could engage the lock. Curtly he replied, "There it is locked". I attempted to unlock door by turning the lock itself and when I couldn't he demonstrated how to unlock the door. Standing on his toes and again using all his body weight he pressed down on the door handle until the lock disengaged. Again the curt response, "There it is unlocked". I couldn't believe it! Visibility annoyed at this point, when I pointed out that locking the door in such a manner would be a fire hazard (not to mention my wife will never be able to unlock the door if I locked it), he suggested that I actually didn't need to lock the door as no one from the outside could get in without a key. In response I stated that any member of staff could enter if the door was unlocked, to which he acknowledged was true and said I could either call the front desk to arrange a new room, lock the door as he demonstrated, or leave the door unlocked; but there was nothing he could do to fix the lock. Another call to the front desk and we were offered a room on the 20th floor. So after repacking we moved to our 3-room for the day. From then on the only issues we faced were with our room keys. Every time we left our room, the room key would not let us back in. So we had to make our way to the front desk where they would make a new key. Every time without fail!

Pros: King-sized bed, which was hard to find in Oslo, or Europe for that matter. Comfortable, quiet room. Helpful staff. Great breakfast.

Cons: Carpet next to bed needed cleaning, and our daughters' shower did not drain. reported both.

Pros: The staff was excellent - they helped me recover my kindle when I accidentally left it on the airport shuttle. They also helped me with directions and provided assistance in finding my way around Oslo. The breakfast buffet was very good as well.

Cons: Room temperature was a bit warm for my taste - the ac was apparently not on yet (early spring), so I could not make the room cooler.

Pros: We don't know what we would have liked because our reservation was cancelled on the morning of our flight to Oslo because of a hotel workers strike.

Cons: the "business class" rooms were a little bit old fashioned and run down, but clean and everythign was there.

Pros: I stayed 2 nights for a city break and found the hotel fine in particular I found the sauna a welcome relief after touring the city all day. The breakfast buffet had everthing you would want with good quality ingredients. It was a good location just a 5 min walk to the main street karl johans.

Cons: my only fault was the room was a little small (twin queen were 2 single beds although comfortable) with no tea coffee making facility which is a pity especially when walking around the city all you look forward to is a warm cup of coffee to relax in your room, the hotel lobby was dated the chairs were quiet worn and the leisure facilities (pool) was freezing!!

Pros: The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The swimming pool and sauna had free lockers and plenty of fluffy white towels. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The booking details were totally correct. Thank you.

Cons: We decided to have a meal on the night we arrived in the dining room,waiter said how good the food was,he took our order and we ordered a bottle of wine then he returned to say all that was available was a burger.Not good for first impression.

Cons: No airconditioning switch you have to ask staff to change the temperature in the room and they will change it for you. Airconditioning is there just no controls.

Pros: Terrific value in Oslo. Walking distance to Munch museum (very close), central station, as well as downtown and harborfront area. Good, affordable (for Oslo) restaurants nearby. Hotel's extensive breakfast was much appreciated given high prices for food in Oslo. Taxi stand right out front and very close tram service was extremely convenient. Our room was plain, clean, and provided everything we needed. We were surprised by how quiet the room was, even being right across from the elevator. I would definitely stay at the Anker again in the future.

Cons: It was our first trip and first stop in Norway in our life, our expierence with parking by Anker Hotel was absolutely terrible and we will not recommend this place to anyone else we care and will never visit this hotel again. Ankel hotel has a parking place BELONGS to a private parking company. But on the entrance of the parking it's written clearly: Q-Park Anker Hotel. The parking lot welcomed us with a fine of 80 euro, while we were trying to pay the parking fee in the hotel, in about 10 minues before we returned to the hotel. Anker Hotel claimed they are seperated with the parking lot and asked us to complain to the parking company. How can a hotel list its name on the parking place without being responsible for the parking management? We have to pay this extra 80 euro for the 10 mins absence while Anker Hotel claims nothing to do with it. Therefore we regret our stay there and will never come back again.

Pros: Great Location, only 5-10min walk into town, also situated by a tram stop. Is in between a new trendy bar/restaurant area and town. Nice warm rooms for Cold Oslo! Breakfast was good and is served until 11am which is a bonus.

Cons: asked for a jug of ice water at nite time, receptionist was only able to provide a glass of water and no ice. ice is a fairly basic thing to provide, day or nite.

Cons: The rooms were not clean properly (Dust and hair). Carpet was filthy. Water boiler was unhealthy. Due to an extreme noise level our first room (9th floor) was changed. The bed was uncomfortable and it was very difficult to sleep two persons in it, being way too soft. The extra pillow in the cabinet was full of hair. The lunch/Xmas buffet came with a surprise, a black/short curly hair on the ham. The male receptionist should not be working in a service oriented job. He had a very arrogant attitude.
