Pros: I loved the sheets! Also bought then from the gift shop.

Pros: Lobby bar is amazing & with fantastic cocktails. We enjoyed a quiet dinner, quiet room, and the relaxing spa.

Cons: Nothing. Nothing at all.

Pros: Great location, excellent staff, nice spa with indoor pool. There was a power outage in the city the morning we were leaving and a gentleman at the from desk was very helpful.

Cons: Out bathroom was very small, did not expect that for this kind of property. Hallways look dated and dark.

Pros: The location is fantastic as it's close to all the shops, restaurants and bars. It's also close to the main touristic sites and tour bus area. Customer service was overall fantastic, and most of the staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. You could feel customer service was of utmost importance in this hotel, and that is what provides a 5* experience. Special thanks to Nash and Marcus who were absolutely brilliant and you could see they were passionate about their jobs. Jaume was so lovely, and Helge and Teresa were professional and empathetic when dealing with a concern of ours. Christian also helped us a lot when my husband lost his wallet in a taxi! Thanks to all! Though the room service menu was limited, the food from Palmen restaurant was really delicious. The hotel itself is indeed very "grand" and has many great facilities including a spa with a wide choice of treatments. The bed was very comfortable and shower powerful! My husband does a lot of business in Norway and we will certainly stay at the Grand Hotel every time we visit Oslo.

Cons: Though the hotel itself is grand, we felt the room was poorly thought out, and felt more like a 'show room' instead of a practical living space. There were 5 plug points by the bed but not really anywhere else. It would have been much more convenient to have them located all around the room. This meant we had to charge our laptops, phones, iron and boil the water, all in the same area. A full length mirror was only available in the bathroom, which is behind the towel shelf. It would have been better to have a full length mirror available on the back of the room door or wardrobe door. No heated mirror in the bathroom meant it steamed up and you couldn't immediately apply skincare or makeup or shave, as you'd have to wait some time for the steam to clear up. No other mirror in the room itself, so you had to rely on the bathroom's one. Though there was a kettle, there was no Nespresso machine. Peep hole too high (even though I'm 5'6") as it was clearly designed for tall Norwegians. No complimentary water bottles were provided. Storage space was very very limited, and therefore we had to keep a lot of our belongings in our suitcase or cramped in the little space they did have. On one occasion, the cleaner didn't hoover our room properly, even though we had left a tip for them. They had also thrown my cleansing cloth in with the hotel laundry and this was difficult as I couldn't get it back afterwards or buy another one in Oslo. Though customer service was overall great, our first contact with the hotel was with Odd, who considering he's Head Concierge, didn't appear empathetic at all with our concerns. With our first dialogue on the phone, he appeared disinterested, bored and answered with a lot of "um hmms" which isn't professional. Though this was a negative start to our Grand Hotel experience, luckily the remainder of staff made up for what Odd lacked in customer service.

Cons: The rooms next door to us were very loud. we were kept awake at 2am from a TV on full blast. Reception dealt with our complaint, however the TV stayed on but turned down.

Cons: I booked the hotel because it advertised free parking. I don’t know how they can claim this with only 6 parking spots at the hotel. When we arrived to 6 occupies spots, the staff told me I could pay for parking on the street (clearly not free parking). They finally agreed to park my car in an alley and move it if needed. Instead, they woke me up early the next morning because they needed me to move my car so another guest could leave (the hotel clerk did not have his driver’s license). This happened again later in the morning... not ‘free parking’.

Cons: Nobody made the beds . There didn’t come in the room . I was handed extra towels a my door and they never came back all day . Trash was not emptyed and bed was not made . I don’t expect new sheets but the bed should be made up . Is this camping ?

Pros: The location is central with all major attractions within 15 mins of walking distance. The breakfast is served in a beautifully decorated basement hall and the options are abundant to suit varied needs.

Cons: The room we got was an attic room, so couldn't even stand erect right after getting out of the bed.

Pros: The hotel is in a very beautiful area of Oslo, surrounded by old and beautifully maintained villas, a treat to walk around. Nice bars and coffee shops around, as well. There is a very casual cozy atmosphere inside with tea and croissants offered during the afternoon sometimes. If you're lucky to be welcomed by Critian (one of the receptionists) you will get the chance to experience the european hospitality (if not Romanian) which is very comforting. Open a discussion about shoes with him and you'll have a surprise. Also go try the hotel's hidden restaurant for dinner as the guys providing the service (waiters and chefs) will take good care of you and the food is quite good and unexpected for that place.

Cons: The austerity of the room (no slippers, no amenities kits, no bathrobes) along with the old and worn out feeling of the furniture plus the tiny bathroom are an incentive to spend more time exploring the city than staying in. A bit of an update would turn this hotel into a spoil in Oslo.

Pros: Location was convenient and quiet. A bit away from the city center but easy bus/tram ride away. Breakfast was good. I found the little shower enclosure ingenious. Shows you can have a functional bathroom in about 20 square feet. Staff was helpful

Pros: Eccellente location near the central station. Check in and check out is self service but there is always someone from the staff for help. The public areas are wall designed. The room is comfortable but a bit amall and wasnt the cleanst.

Pros: The location was exceptional for the price, easy self check in with all the info you need provided to you. For a short stay in Oslo it’s beyond great for the price you will be paying which is way cheaper in comparison to other places in the area.

Pros: Excellent location, close to Central Station, shops, cafes, bakery, restaurants, transport, Opera House, Cathedral, main road in Oslo. Brand new or upgraded complex, very clean and easy to check in and out. Common area with facilities to heat food, a kettle and vending machines. Simple cafe next to complex.

Cons: Top mattress on bed is foam and not as hard as I like and tends to move away from base.

Pros: Clean, friendly staff, great WiFi, perfect location across from train station and main tourist road (Karl Johan Gate), close to many tourist attractions, room has a minimalist desk and chair for laptop/writing/books, etc. Was satisfied with my stay - being next to the train station and main subway station is perfect for getting in and out of Oslo as well as exploring the city by public transportation (and walking everywhere by foot is easy, too).

Cons: In less expensive cities could get more for your money (but Oslo is very expensive in general). Rooms are small but not too small for those just wanting a place to sleep. Very few amenities (e.g. no daily room service except for a fee, no breakfast, etc.).

Pros: So conveniently located. We had a nice large room.

Cons: Slightly noisy from the main square outside the train station. I think the location of our room probably meant it was the probably the worst affected by this and it wouldn’t deter me from booking again if we returned.

Pros: Excellent location, just across the street from the train station. The major attractions in the city are in the walking distance. The room and the bathroom very big. The Wifi was good.

Pros: They gave us a nice spacious room, seemed like we got a free upgrade. Clean and tidy. Wooden floor. Spacious bathroom. Felt like a fresh and modern room. Good soundproofing on windows, traffic did not bother us. Really good, central location for trains, shops, sights etc.
