Staff is extremely helpful and kind Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is typically Japanese. The onsen and the outdoor bath are really nice to relax in. Big plus for the free massage chair after !
Great overall - I had a western room with breakfast and dinner, and it was great value for money.Staff doesn't really speak English, but they are super helpful and I had no issues! Room was quite large for Japanese standard (I did have twin room even though I was alone, don't think they do single rooms). The air-conditioning and humidifier kept it nice, warm and comfortable. Beds were comfy and it is super clean. They provide yukata and winter jacket to wear around the hotel, and that was very nice (they helped me wear it properly!). Bathroom in the room was a bit basic, but I didn't use it at all, I used onsen instead. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, in private rooms, staff explained to me patiently how to cook / eat everything. Onsen was very nice, both inside and outside, with really good amenities (all sorts of cosmetic products and even massage chair). They have private baths too (for extra fee) but I saw no need, as I was almost always alone in the public facilities. It was about 10-15 minutes on foot away from all the sights (there is a bus too). There is a free shuttle from and to the bus station (ask in advance for pick up). In case times don't suit, getting a bus is really easy too (less than 10 minutes and you can use pasmo card).
I loved it. I stayed in western style room with private bathroom, but there is no need - the onsen facilities are so good that there was no need for my private bathroom.
Amazing traditional ryokan experience. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The staff was extremely friendly from the moment we stepped into the reception until we left. Special thanks to the reception staff and our host for the kaiseki dinner, they made our stay unforgettable. The room was very clean and the onsen (both public and private) were excellent. There were very few visitors in the ryokan so we felt like we had the accomodations for ourselves. We would love to come back.
Everything was perfect, we have no complains.
We love the location
Great location with excellent views of the local mountains and next to the river. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was also delicious. Incredible value for the price.
Facilities are a little dated. Some of the carpet, furniture and wall paper could use a replacement. The wooden panels in the room's bathroom were a little loose.
