We were given fresh towels when we asked which was nice. The location is great, close to attractions and theatres and the breakfast is simple but made a great start to each day.
Starting with the staff, who were helpful but not friendly, we were met with a simple room with a sink, desk and wardrobe. Take note that the strand is a very busy road, and cars, people and service staff (yelling to each other at 2am in the hotel) can make for a bad nights sleep. Unfortunately, the smelly pipes, blocked toilets and showers, lumpy/ broken springs in bed and sporadic (very rare) turndown service made this a tiring stay rather than an enjoyable one. I would not recommend a long stay, perhaps one or two nights at most.
Very clean. Even the shared bathrooms which I never like were better than expected and plenty of them.
Too many stairs to navigate with heavy cases - but if not carrying anything heavy then would be fine.
The condition of the room ...it was musty and decoration was poor, curtains old and taps loose. The toilet and shower was shared...the ibfo said only the bathroom wss shared . No tea only coffee. Just a very bleak experience .
Hotel Continental is a low priced Hotel in the centre of London - which means you won´t find luxury accomodation but if you are happy with simple rooms in the middle of London and friendly staff you will be OK. Location is perfect for visitors who want the London highlights on their doorstep.
It can be a bit noisy - central London is busy all day and night. Not recommended if you want quiet accomodation.
Kind staf, nice breakfest
