Pros:
Cons: The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer

Pros: Room was stunning with classic molding, hard wood floors and a huge shower. Front desk agent offered to check me in hours early when I only asked to check a bag. The entire staff was attentive and helpful.
Cons: Although the entire old quarter area is bustling and loud, there are two bars directly across the narrow street from the window our room faced. The noise on the weekend did not quiet down until after midnight.
There was also a minor issue with the hot water not getting very hot, and although the staff was apologetic, they could not remedy this issue before we checked out.

Cons: Internal rooms look into internal small well area. Many of rooms at side of hotel look at onto another wall or the windows are blocked so no outside view at all. One side of the hotel is currently a construction side for Four Seasons (so is very open at the moment) but I don't know what will happen after the hotel is completed. The car from hotel to airport is very expensive (US63 vs. taxi booked through hotel of US$13).
7.9 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, clean room, hotel position.
Cons: For a 5 star hotel, breakfast is, in my opinion, below standard (small range of products, lack of products in presentation plates, the surface of the room was not a 5 stars standard)

Cons: Room was mostly clean, but the bathroom/shower area was a bit grimy from age. The bigger issue was that the Wi-Fi completely stopped working (we were on the sixth floor) during our last two days there. It wasn't a huge deal, but not ideal.

Pros: Very clean and located right next to the lake. Plenty of amazing restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff, with one exception were generally nice. One staff member was particularly helpful and accommodating. Our room was changed free of charge at our request (nothing bad, we just wanted a room with a bath tub - we were happy to pay but they didn’t let us). Breakfast was delicious every day.

Pros: The location is really good! Word of warning if you turn up over the weekend the streets are closed to cars from Friday evening - Sunday so it's best to walk. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was very nice, good space with a balcony. The rooms were very clean.
Cons: Breakfast was not good and the room breakfast was located in was really unclean. We requested for late check out which wasn't possible so we had to book another night at the hotel so we could shower before leaving for the airport, this was ok as the rooms are very reasonable. The spa downstairs was ok but my friends didn't get a good service and were asked for tips.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Nice staff. Clean room. Good breakfast and a nice view from 12 floor where they serve the breakfast. They are not charging extra when paying by credit card than some other hotels do.
Cons:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel great staff location and comforts in the room
Cons: Hard to find anything but the shower is it the best

Cons: Out room did not have a window
7.0 Good
Pros: the location was very central close to everything restaurants, bazar, lake -very touristic. staff was quite friendly.
Cons: the lift, was very slow- room are very basic with not much view
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice, however, we were not expecting it to not have a window. This would have been a bonus. The breakfasts were fine and there was a good selection. The carpet and chair covers need to be replaced. All staff were truly fantastic! They were friendly, helpful, sincere and spoke amazing English!
Cons: As mentioned above - this is our first experience of having a hotel room with no window! The carpet and chair covers in La Palmy need to be replaced as they are rather stained which was a little off-putting whilst eating breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and located right next to the lake. Plenty of amazing restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff, with one exception were generally nice. One staff member was particularly helpful and accommodating. Our room was changed free of charge at our request (nothing bad, we just wanted a room with a bath tub - we were happy to pay but they didn’t let us). Breakfast was delicious every day.
Cons: Very very noisey. Not sure if construction was going on or something but there were loud doors banging and people could be heard easily late at night after 1:00am as well as early in the morning before 6:00am. The room next to ours was smoking and we could smell it in our room ( the hotel says smoking only allowed on the balcony but these guests ignored this rule, so not sure whose fault this was).

Pros: Absolutely fantastic! Good services, polite and helpful staff. They even offer a welcome platter of fruits while checking in. The room was quite big, very clean and the bed was big enough for a whole family! The usual amenities as you would expect but they also provide a personal computer to use. Also the location is just perfect.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location is very good. Large room and private jacuzzi in the building. Breakfast is pretty good with a friendly staff.
Cons: Upon arrival, we found out the pool was out of service when the only reason for booking here was for the pool since we have children. The next day, they put the sign down but the water was too cold so we werent able to use it. Next, we wanted to extend our stay an extra day and asked if we could stay in the same room, they said our room was booked but that they would give us another room (same family suite) so we had to pack up and change rooms on our last day. Same exact room so why did we have to move rooms when they couldve given the newcomers that room we couldnt understand but our fault for not booking in advance. The only thing that was upsetting was the fact that housekeeping decided to come and take half our bed to put into our new room at 8:30am?!! Why? Who knows. And then when we asked when we could move in bc we have kids and need to be situated soon, housekeeping said for us to wait and that it will be ready when it is. Our bill was off but that was settled so no biggie. Massage located in the building (h2) is overpriced and not good. The staff is super nice but I would recommend another place down the street. Im not sure if this is common here but ammonia smell was very strong inthe bathroom as well. Enough to give you a headache.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very comprehensive. Room was a very good size. The hotel is in a very good location
Cons: Bath was badly designed. Everytime when I take a shower, the water runs off the wall , around the bath and onto the floor. Can get easily flooded if not careful

3.1 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: No elevator, so if you have luggage or bad knees, think again. Every guest I met was on the fourth floor with us. And with no A/C in the main area, it's a hot and sweaty hike up 4 floors.
Family living in hotel literally yells at one another to communicate. Once they leave you have a little peace and quiet... until they come back to the hotel at 2am and continue the yelling/screaming for another hour. Oh and a few roosters live right next door, so plan for a 6am chorus of cockadoodle doo.
A/C also shut off during the night and wouldn't turn back on. Phones don't work in room, so prepare for another hike up and down to get anything addressed. Staff is more concerned being on Facebook than helping patrons.
In short, find another hotel.
