Cons: The air con wasn't set in the room and considering it was a heatwave during my stay that would have helped. It also didn't allow you to manually set it, instead it kept returning to it's pre-set standard and was very loud when running. Small thing but it did make a difference.

Pros: Very pleasant, welcoming and helpful staff. Brilliant breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Central location for visiting attractions, both on foot and by the U-Bahn, as the hotel is very close to a station. It is also within walking distance of the the mainline station for those coming from the airport by S-Bahn. The hotel bar is known for its good selection of wines. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms have all that one needs. The hotel is very clean and tidy, and the public areas have nice quirky design features. There is also a fabulous historic room, with paintings and fittings from the Marienburg Castle, gifted to a previous owner. This is used as a function room, and we were lucky to be shown it by one of the great reception staff.

Cons: The rooms have no acoustic treatment what so ever, very noisy, Aldo don’t stay in rooms 530, 529, 430, 429 as the noise comes down from the plant room. The chiller has no acoustic separation from the structure. Very poorly put together building for a 4 star building. I will never book a mercure hotel again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a perfect choice for a short trip to Hannover. Even though, hotel has 4-stars rating, it corresponds to very good 3-stars hotel and has a perfect quality-price ratio.

Cons: The shower had a weird smell if you left the door open and it was really confusing that the light above the sink (in the sleeping area) and the shower (extra area) were aligned: either you light both or none. Seemed like a bit of a waste. The TV was really small. Not that I came to Hannover to watch TV but by today's standards even the cheapest economy room should offer something bigger than my laptop screen. Even though my window went out to a back area, it was pretty loud if I left it open. When I didn't I felt like the room ran out of oxygen within like an hour. Oh, and an extra thumbs down for the fact that the cleaning lady randomly marched in while I was still asleep and half-naked.

Cons: The shower arrangement is inconvenient (no space to change nor hang your close dry, showers directly behind the bathroom door and facing mirrors). The 6-bed dorm included 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds arranged as twin beds. The latter might be nice for couples, but surprising when this is the only bed left at midnight and you do not know your neighbor. Personally, I would have preferred bunk beds only or include the option to choose between bunk or twin bed in the reservation.

Pros: 24 hours reception. Personal light and plug. They provide towels. Soap and towels in the bathroom. TV in the room. Small backyard. Good location.
Cons: Breakfast not included (you have to pay an extra 9.50 € for it !!). No free tea and coffee. No kitchen. Small room. Very smelly corridor. No locker in the room. When you want to have a shower you see everything through the door !! You have to make up your own bed when you arrive. Small fridge in the room but so noisy that you cannot use it. Baby crying next door.

Cons: The bathroom facilities (2 showers in the male sections and 1 WC) seems limited in times of a rush hour but I did not have problem personally with it.

Cons: Lack of manner education for room staffs to take pillow coins without making a bed. If the lift was under repair and could not stop in some stairs, it should be announced to the guests, and they should not be stayed on that floors.

Cons: The room was reasonably clean, but the building overall was in poor condition in a questionable neighborhood. We had no hot water for two of the three nights we were there, even after advising the staff. Parking was on the main road, nothing reserved, and cost 11 Euros per day in the parking meter. Finding a parking space near the guest house was difficult.

Cons: I contacted the hotel before arrival to ask if an early check in was possible, I was happy to pay if needed. Was told yes we could. That wasn’t the case when we arrived. We got in a little early. Due to an evening flight home I asked if we could get a late check out, a pretty common thing to be able to get at a hotel if you pay extra. The reception guy responded like we were out of order and trying to get more than we should. We were willing to pay not asking for a freebie. So they lose the extra money option and our good will.
