Pros: Super clean! I really appreciated a TV and a kettle (with coffee and tea) as well as a small fridge in my room. Bed linen was crispy clean and bath towels were also provided. There are 2 kitchens (1 small and 1 big) with a dining area and a lounge - all very nice. Common areas were also perfectly clean. It was very quiet. If you need some "me time", it's a nice place to have a rest. It's not a party hostel. It was a great stay for me.

Pros: Super clean! I really appreciated a TV and a kettle (with coffee and tea) as well as a small fridge in my room. Bed linen was crispy clean and bath towels were also provided. There are 2 kitchens (1 small and 1 big) with a dining area and a lounge - all very nice. Common areas were also perfectly clean. It was very quiet. If you need some "me time", it's a nice place to have a rest. It's not a party hostel. It was a great stay for me.

Cons: One of the staff messaged me informing it ok to check in late, the key will be in a lock box - we arrived and there was no lock box with a key. Luckily there was a number to call, other wise it would of been quite stressful at 10:30pm after a 6hrs drive. The lady who checked us in was friendly, but there was just no communication between staff by the looks of it.

Cons: Clean bed linen - questionable. No mini bar price list and the room was not serviced one day, and housekeeping turned up at the end of the day when I was already back from work - so was inconvenient and fairly pointless then.

Cons: Wow. Wow. Wow... We paid $258AUD for two nights in a twin room at Law Courts Motel. I do not recommend anyone to stay here. Upon checking in, we realised that our room was more than likely a converted storage room, and asked if we could please change rooms. They told us they were fully booked and this was not possible (on a Wednesday and Thursday night). Anywho I have left some images below of the interesting bathroom setup (zoom for mould). Really it’s not so bad if you imagine you are camping- it’s got that ‘I should have brought my shower shoes’ feeling about it. The little portable heater in our room also didn’t work and reception didn’t call us back when we left a message about this with reception. Oh my gosh and while I’m on a roll here- there is no power points in the bathroom so forget about drying your hair hahahahaha HELP. Beyond the awful setup and camping type facilities, the room wasn’t particularly clean either. In fact, I woke up in the morning with dried soy sauce on my toe, and I didn’t eat anything in the room, particularly not soy sauce. The night before I had showered and gone straight to bed after walking around the room... this is still an unsolved mystery of the soy sauce toe... One other thing to note: they don’t have umbrellas... in rainy Dunedin. Super helpful for International travellers. We had planned to talking to the reception upon checking out to provide some feedback and hopefully turn our frowns upside down, but the lady just looked at us and said ‘leave the key on the counter’ without moving from her desk about 3 meters away. Lovely.

Cons: dirty room we had to pay for parking on top which we didn't know about there was a blocked sink our room keys didn't work there was only two towels for 4 people the lift was broken and the stairs didn't feel safe

Cons: The first room we were given on the arrival was really small, no lift was going to this floor, we had to use the stairs. Curtains were broken. It was a construction site just behind the windows. Kids had no space to play at all. So I talked to a lovely lady at reception who was very nice and helpful and she offered us to change the room next morning, because this night the hotel was fully booked and we were the last to check in. The new room was ready by the time we had our breakfast in the restaurant, they even moved our luggage to the new room. Really nice staff! Thanks!

Cons: This property is currently under a major refurbishment. I assume that rooms currently in use will also be refurbished in due course. I personally would not stay here again until the work has finished. Our room was lacking in so many ways - very tired...

Cons: Staff were friendly enough and the location to access the city was great. However, everything is really old and delapidated, peeling paint everywhere including at the entrance roof. Mould in the shower, old cheap appliances and beautiful one furniture which all needs to be restored. The did bath jets didn't work and the hot water tap produced rust. All of this highlights the lack of care and need for renovation. Due to its location on state highway 1, the traffic peeved be from sleeping fitfully. Also, due to the non-self locking door, some strange woman walked into my room late at night. I paid$175 for a room that was worth $95. There are better and cheaper hotels in Dunedin.

Room was cold as all hostel and if you wanna leave the heater on in your room, don't be so sure that's will happen cause there is a timer for 30 min, so it means if you wanna go out and come back to warm room that's not gonna happen. And talking about warm things, probably need to mention that good luck with hot water in shower. We was trying to get at least warm water and after running cold water for about 30 min managed to get it in one shower out of 4, well at least something. NO wifi and by saying NO I man it. You can have it only in the kitchen and even receptionist when was telling us password told us that it's not gonna work in the room, oh wel...
