Cons: Although very stylish in design - bathroom and toilet situation should be looked at for possible improvement plans.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location superb breakfast
Cons: Pool a bit grubby, bed for us oldies a little low
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are very welcoming and speak multiple languages fluently. We received great advice on what to do and where to go around Carcassonne and some great history of the area. (While being served wine and infused water). The location is peaceful and is fantastic. You can walk to the walled Cité de Carcassone if you want to. The swimming pool is a nice escape from the summer heat! Breakfast was amazing And included fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, breads and preserves, and eggs and sliced meats and cheeses.
Cons: Everything met or far exceeded our expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and obliging hosts, lovely room layout and furniture, beautiful swimming pool and setting, good nicely presented breakfast.
Cons: Great shower room but no shower gel and shampoo holding shelf to save putting the bottles on the ground!
9.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens/grounds. Lots of character, very sympathetically renovated and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. We had two good meals in the restaurant next door and the breakfast in the hotel was excellent. The location was perfect for us, being a few miles out of Carcassonne but easy access to the centre via a local bus at only €2 return per person! We would certainly recommend this hotel.
Cons: We liked everything!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is very beautiful, and the staff made everything perfect. We had an excellent dinner at the property restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with well-appointed room, good outside space and a nice pool. Very nice breakfast.
Cons: We were a party of six and had booked and paid for six people. However, when we came to check out the hotel said we had only booked for four and had to pay a supplement. A phone call to booking.com resolved the situation, but beware if you are booking for a larger group. The owner's rather aggressive handling of the situation soured an otherwise very pleasant stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This beautifully restored chateau was the perfect spot for our stay. The welcome we received from Emma set the tone. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the pool provided much needed relief after a hot day at Carcassonne. Be sure to have dinner at the restaurant - one of our favourite meals in France. This really was a fabulous spot!
10.0 Excellent

With a stay at La Villa in Carcassonne, you'll be a 4-minute walk from Pont-Neuf de Carcassonne and 7 minutes by foot from Medieval City of Carcassonne. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a a real delight! We booked a room in the villa and were delighted to find that we were in the garden annexe - our own little pad, close to the main kitchen in the house. The room was fresh, beautifully decorated and laid out and scrupulously clean. Our host was charming and explained everything to us, including how we'd find breakfast in the morning (we were leaving early), how the gate and code worked, what to see in the city and which restaurants we should try. We were only here for one day / one night but it rounded our holiday off wonderfully. We felt comfortable, relaxed and very well looked after.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. A peaceful haven within easy walking distance of restaurants, the Citie, the river, the Canal du Midi, the New City. Juliette speaks perfect English and is full of really helpful information on where to eat, what to see etc. Our room was spacious with a view of the castle which was a bit surreal, especially at night. The room has a kettle and you can also make drinks in the dining room, plus buy wine by the bottle/glass on an honesty basis. There is secure off road parking.
Cons: There was very little to dislike. We had a few mosquitos (not the properties fault!). It would perhaps have been nice to have had some freshly chopped fruit at breakfast. Paying similar to an hotel the servicing and replenishing of the room could have been more consistent but I know Juliette would have supplied anything extra if we had asked for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location to explore... on site parking, Juliette very helpful, and wonderful breakfast !
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden room with private bathroom and outside seating was very private. With a very pretty room with comfortable bed and pillows. Adequate storage for clothes and personable items.
Cons: There was a bit of a problem with payment as no card machine and we weren't advised to take enough cash. It cost us an extra £5.50 to transfer the money online. This was quite stressful as my friends do nothing online.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great French t breakfast, lovely host.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet secluded location, with access to both the new & old town a short 10-15 min walk away. The maison itself is lovely, as was the room. We stayed in a room with a balcony and the view of the castle at night was incredible, especially during a lightning storm! The host Juliette was excellent, great communication and happy to offer advice and local recommendations if required.
Cons: Nothing.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very nice and very helpful. Parking on location was a plus. The location was great and within walking distance of the old part of Carcassonne. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The pillows on the bed were not comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel du Pont Vieux is ideally situated for the medieval cite (8 minutes walk) and also for the bastide, just across the bridge. Hosts were so welcoming, including Isidore! They recommended local restaurants (all great!) and advised on local info. Bedroom was very pleasant, with a view of the garden. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast room was lovely with the option of sitting in the garden in nice weather. Beautiful fresh pastries, homemade brioche and Catherine's homemade jams - delicious! Carcassonne is beautiful - obviously the walled cite but the lower city is definitely worth a visit - the cathedral, market, theatres, cafes & restaurants, shops and the Canal du Midi.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, very kind and informative personnel, quiet and clean rooms, private parking.
Cons: It is a bit complicated if you want to park at the hotel because of the policy of the town to close the road for traffic in summer. We had to park somewhere near, walk to the hotel to get the remote control, go back to the car, drive to the street, use the remote control to lower the road block and get to the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel! Our view from the window was the castle! Just breathtaking! We absolutely loved the little garden where we sat and had breakfast each morning. The staff was so nice and friendly and very helpful! We loved our stay here!
Cons: We had a lot of luggage so our room was pretty cramped but we were not in our room much except to sleep. The bathroom was very spacious which really pleased my husband! Very clean, quiet and homey!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was cordial and helpful. There is a terrace on the top floor with a spectacular view of the Castle. This alone made the place worth the cost. The rooms were spacious and charmingly decorated. We had a room to sleep 4 ppl and it was comfortable for everyone. I definitely recommend it.
Cons: The air conditioner was not working. The bathroom had a strong sewage-like smell (we kept the window wide open and closed the bedroom door to contain the smell). The breakfast was priced higher than the content's worth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WIFI, staff, room, 3rd floor patio view were all great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. La Citè, is within easy walking distance and a pleasant stroll across the river takes you into the Bastide with shops, restaurants and the canal du midi. Little bars and shops on the Rue Trivalle add a lovely atmosphere especially in the evening. Loved the garden at the back of the hotel and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms may not be big but they have everything you need and the bathrooms are very modern.
Cons: Nothing. This was my second stay at The Hotel Du Pont Vieux and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a family own small property but was maintained very well. The host is very warm and helpful. They have their own garage for parking of a few cars. The hotel is in walking distance to the castle. This hotel costs much less for parking (7$/night) and also had cheaper price for Breakfast (10$/person). It is really nice and with good price. Highly recommend for this hotel
Cons: There is no elevator for bring heavy luggage to upstairs, but the host helped me to carry my mid-size suitcase to upstairs.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is so courteous and helpful! The property is just 10-15 minutes from La Cite, and is an oasis for relaxation. The grounds are lovely, and there is a heated pool. We were able to book 2 connecting rooms. Free parking inside the gate was appreciated.
Cons: The room is a little small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic week at Hotel Bastide de St Martin. Isabelle and Alain were amazing hosts making our stay even better with their helpful tips and advice regarding restaurants and things to do in the area. Also they provided wine, beer, hot drinks and snacks during the day as there is no restaurant. Laura was also fantastic with local tips and advice and was extremely pleasant. The whole place was scrupulously clean (the staff were constantly cleaning) and the breakfast was excellent We are looking forward to returning next year.
Cons: The only criticism is the lack of a walk in shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have traveled to many places in the world, this hotel is among 3 best that we have ever stayed in.
Cons: Weather...?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Just please get rid of those awful “hairy” red pillows :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous house beautifully decorated and exceptionally furnished with terrific gardens and a fantastic pool area. The hosts are charming and lovely and the food at breakfast and dinner is sophisticated and of a very high standard. the place is a home from home and the owners' ever present dogs simply add to the welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Away from the busyness of the city, but only 10m from La Cité for easy access to restaurants and activities.
Cons: Nothing

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast .
7.9 Good
Pros: Convenience and comfort
Cons: The breakfast room area was too tight not enough room to move freely to get food
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Bed and pillows are really comfortable. - Service is friendly and helped us in every single request we made. - Breakfast is good with a big variety between salty and sweety products. There are also fruits included!
Cons: - Rain shower: The hot water vapor switched on the noise alarm. - This is not particular for this hotel, but applicable as well: it will be much appreciated a water bowl if there is a fee (15 Euro in this case) for dogs. - We cannot see the medieval city from the room due to the reed fence.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Florentina, Melanie and Rosanna were great hosts, always helpful and courteous. Thank you for the room upgrade too. It was nice to have a jacuzzi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location / very friendly staff / very good house equipment e.g. elevators etc / interesting design / wide garden / secure parking / luxury feeling
Cons: (too) hard bed / fragile and rather impractical design equipment of the room and bath / breakfast fine but not exceptional. And of course we could not use the restaurant on a Sunday evening, but this we knew in advance and at least we went to the downtown brasserie of Mr Putelat...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location next to entrance to the Cite (why would you pay extra to stay in La Cite when this hotel is here) parking, amazing contemporary designed hotel with attentive staff - great pool, quiet at night too, unlike many rooms in La Cite. Free parking. Now my favourite hotel in Carcassonne.
Cons: Door entry system to rooms is a bit too clever for it's own good, but a small fault and the only one I could comment on. Breakfast is fine as a buffet style breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to old city, and bus to new part of town was right in front of the hotel. Nicely decorated, very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was way over priced.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed. Great location. Charming and helpful reception team.
Cons: All good.

Cons: The towels and small pillows.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice, quirky style of rooms. Breakfast was especially pleasant, including local specialties. The hosts were awesome, we also got a good recommendation for dinner in the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about Domaine de Marseillens. Serge and Muryiel were so welcoming and friendly it was a real home from home. We loved the location half way between the medieval city and Lake Cavayère although you may need a car if you don’t want to walk far. The hotel is a little bit different from the usual, individual and very French in character. We absolutely loved it.
Cons: Nothing at all, we liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT!!!! Very kind hosts, Serge and Muryel give lots of tips about things to do in the neighbourhood, Viktor (the son) makes the most delicious smoothies throughout the whole year at breakfast, very nice breakfast with delicious fresh products, the house and room are truly SO BEAUTIFUL, ... This is one of those rare B&B’s we will keep in mind and recommend to family and friends!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just two mins drive from the walled city of Carcassone, this property is a little gem. The facilities are excellent with a lovely pool and sunbathing area; the rooms are very individually styled and comfortable, lots of stone and wood make this a really interesting place to stay. Serge and Muryel are absolutely lovely hosts serving a superb breakfast, they made us very welcome and we really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast choices served at large communal table. Muryel and Serge are good hosts who took the trouble to introduce us to fellow guests. The location is very quiet but only a few minutes from the walled town by car and on the same side of town as the large parking areas. Property is old and atmospheric.
Cons: Would have liked a full shower in the bathroom but there was a beautiful old bath with a very good hand shower so cant say we didn’t like it! That would just be icing on the cake!
Overview Reviews
The Hotel de la Cité is a magical place located in the heart of the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne and is part of the MGallery Collection. A 5-star hotel located within the walls of Carcassonne, built in the 19th century in a Neo-Gothic style. The hotel has 47 rooms and 13 suites and also features an outdoor pool and shaded park. Discover a hotel where the art of hospitality is paired with gourmet dining from Chef Jérôme Ryon at the Barbacane restaurant.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location
Cons: Worst showering experience due to the shower being broken. Received a credit for this however for this level of a hotel I don’t expect an issue like this. Shuttle service was super slow for the departure.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was very special. Sited in the medieval fortress is quite unique.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: LIkes: Fabulous view of the City over the Walls Overall feel of the hotel Comfort of the pillows and bed Best location for staying in the Old City Terrific breakfast Complimentary castle tickets
Cons: Dislikes Car has to be at least 200+ yards from the hotel--no private auto access--they use a small van to take you to the hotel. The room we were in was quite small--the closet door backed up to another needed door--constant banging. Chair for the desk had arms--could not go under the desk--another small room issue Partial glass separator for shower in the bath does a lousy job of keeping water in the tub Needs more electrical outlets--especially around the desk area
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was spacious and very comfortable. I loved the bed time story left in the pillow!
Cons: It was extremely disappointing to be emailed 2 days beforehand to say that the restaurant was fully booked. And worse the recommended restaurants were not in the Cité of Carcasson. The hotel should contact all guests, and especially those that are staying a single night, BEFORE the restaurant is full to enquire if the future guests intend on eating at the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is absolutely lovely, and the location is unbeatable. The staff are helpful and friendly. You feel part of the middle ages with the comfort of royalty in the 21st century.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, building itself, breakfast, staff
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent upmarket "old school" hotel in a perfect location to relax and spoil yourselves while exploring the medieval town of Carcassonne.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the middle of the old city of Carcassone. Excellent/superb service by all the staff. Always available to accommodate our needs (we were traveling with a baby and still everything seemed so easy).
Cons: Nothing!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the pool, including the service provided there. We loved the friendliness and sense of humor of the dining room staff, and the staff behind the reception desk were very helpful. The Michelin star restaurant outdid itself in elegance and style, and the staff were engaging.

Cons: The air conditioning
B&B Demeure Saint Louis - Carcassonne - Building
12
8.9 Excellent (464 reviews)
7.1 Good
Pros: Not a lot actually. Sandra did her best to welcome us but the atmosphere was both stifling and somewhat spartan. The only positive for us was the secure parking and the distance to the old city of Carcassonne.
Cons: Someone there to meet and greet us instead of a great closed door! We arrived in the middle of the reception times so there was no reason for someone not to be there. The place was cold, the sheets felt damp, there was not even a little carpet in the bedroom and the décor did not match the antique furniture. We felt ill at ease and we never even saw the owner! Sandra seemed afraid to disobey her boss rather give us what we asked for (a kettle of BOILING water for our morning tea). we were glad to leave in spite of Sandra's efforts but chambres d'hôte should be exactly tht - siomewhere that conveys the convivality of thehost. Sorry, but it didn't do that.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Secure parking, very close to the Citadel and town, lovely staff. Perfect location for Carcassonne citadel, easy to find, beautiful garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to the historical center with private parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect place to stay for a few days, very friendly welcoming host and excellent location for both the old and town and the town centre. Delighted that we chose to stay here whilst in Carcassone.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house was amazing, great owner and superb staff!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The building is lovely and has stunning furniture for the type of building it is. Our room on the 2nd floor was quite large and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities were on offer and a mini bar/fridge provided - also an in room safe. There was a breakfast room and also a room to relax and read. We were greeted warmly and provided with a place to park the car and assisted with our luggage. Breakfast consisted of some cereal, juice, American style coffee, bread and ham and cheese and some fruit and boiled egg. We were advised of where we should sit. The location is easy walking distance to the old Cite Carcassonne and also the new city which is also lovely and needs time to explore.
Cons: The shower was terrible. Very low - you have to take the shower nozzle off and wash one handed. Being over bath and no curtain - water goes all over the floor and the water pressure is lacking. The window curtains however do nothing for ones privacy when in the shower and looking directly on to the road. Please improve this. The restrictions on times to check in and out (I was fully aware but it did become a bit of a hassle).
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean rooms and excellent breakfast
Cons: Host met all the criteria of French hospitality
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room with very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast
Cons: I didn't like that I couldn't pay for my stay with my credit card...come on! Wake up! It is year 2019 you should to be able to receive payments with credit card machine! And also very poor wi fi.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, clean, modern place. Excellent room, comfortable bed, loved the wetroom. Good variety at breakfast. I had a fantastic view of the walled town from my bed.
Cons: No lift, which meant several trips via the stairs for my old dog. It is not usual for non-UK places to have tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, I know. All the same, an evening cup of tea would have been very much appreciated!

Pros: Close to the castle. Good location. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. A very enjoyable stay thank you!
Cons: It was all fine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very near the old town

Pros: The location, fantastic view of the old city from our room. Room exceptionally clean. Friendly, helpful staff.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a great location the airport bus stops close by so easy to get to and from. It is is a short walk to the medieval cite and there are buses to the centre if you do not want to walk. The staff were kind and helpful we would be happy to stay again .
Cons: The bathroom was a little small and as it was a walk in shower everything tended to get sprayed. It was not a major issue
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is spotless and staff are so friendly, would have been nice to sit in the evening and have a drink while overlooking the castle. Room a bit small but cosy on a winters night. Breakfast was amazingly good.

Hôtel Mercure Carcassonne La Cité - Carcassonne - Building
3
8.5 Excellent (3,488 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A 5-minute walk from the Medieval City and the city center, the Mercure Carcassonne la Cité hotel looks just like a farmhouse in the Languedoc. Whether as a family, on a business trip, or for seminars, you will feel welcome all year round thanks to the ho tel's warm, refined decor, outdoor swimming pool during the summer season and tree-filled terrace. We also have a restaurant, a bar with a fireplace, and free, enclosed, private car park, helping you enjoy your stay in Carcassonne.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient & on-site car parking
Cons: Awoken to a leaking pipe through ceiling at 5.00am and had to request assistance from reception staff!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, very comfortable bed
Cons: Shutters banged in the wind all night.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is very close to the old town and excellent for seeing that ara with transport linking into the bastide area new town. Has a small swimming pool, rooms clean and comfortable as was rest of the hotel. The maids and cleaners were very nice.
Cons: The front of house, restaurant/bar managers were rude ignorant unhelpful and spoiled our stay which was a group of 10 in our sixties. This is the second occasion that we have been here for a wedding and a stopover this time and would not go back due to the rude unhelpful nature of the front of house staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Has a lift for access to the upper floors. Short walk (upgrade) to the Cité. Free parking with easy in and out. Several rooms apparently had a good view of the Cité — ours, just a glimpse of tower tops, but did overlook a lovely garden.
Cons: Our stay was during a time with cool nights; even so, we needed to open window for cooling, which let in a couple of mosquitoes each night. Breakfast (extra) was great; dinner, less so.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. Location is great just outside the old city.
Cons: Aircon not working this time of year as it's Autumn - if you switch it on it only blows hot air, not advised of this when checking in... Understand the reason, but the room got extremely hot with a family of four sleeping and no windows, only a door which could be opened (safety issue if opened overnight). Nice room, just too hot to sleep comfortably.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location near to the castle and a pool in the garden
Cons: Some of the staff in the restaurant are not so service minded but great food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect
Cons: Nothing everything was great
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and tidy.
Cons: The restaurant menu.
