10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are very welcoming and speak multiple languages fluently. We received great advice on what to do and where to go around Carcassonne and some great history of the area. (While being served wine and infused water). The location is peaceful and is fantastic. You can walk to the walled Cité de Carcassone if you want to. The swimming pool is a nice escape from the summer heat! Breakfast was amazing And included fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, breads and preserves, and eggs and sliced meats and cheeses.
Cons: Everything met or far exceeded our expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and obliging hosts, lovely room layout and furniture, beautiful swimming pool and setting, good nicely presented breakfast.

Pros: Everything was over our expectations
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location for the old and new parts of the city gave excellent choice for eating. Good restaurants are on the door step and lots of good ones are within walking distance. The view from the roof terrace is hard to beat, especially at night when the Ramparts are fully illuminated.
Cons: Everything was better than expected The spiral staircase was a fine feature by may be a problem for less mobile people.
7.9 Good
Pros: The main "plus" points for this Hotel were the location, the cleanliness and the helpful owner and staff. Excellent bathroom which had recently been refurbished.
Cons: The room was very small, which I don't suppose the owner could do anything about. The breakfast was a little basic. These days, I would expect more fresh fruit at breakfast time and the croissants were, to say the least, a little small.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was cordial and helpful. There is a terrace on the top floor with a spectacular view of the Castle. This alone made the place worth the cost. The rooms were spacious and charmingly decorated. We had a room to sleep 4 ppl and it was comfortable for everyone. I definitely recommend it.
Cons: The air conditioner was not working. The bathroom had a strong sewage-like smell (we kept the window wide open and closed the bedroom door to contain the smell). The breakfast was priced higher than the content's worth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WIFI, staff, room, 3rd floor patio view were all great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. La Citè, is within easy walking distance and a pleasant stroll across the river takes you into the Bastide with shops, restaurants and the canal du midi. Little bars and shops on the Rue Trivalle add a lovely atmosphere especially in the evening. Loved the garden at the back of the hotel and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms may not be big but they have everything you need and the bathrooms are very modern.
Cons: Nothing. This was my second stay at The Hotel Du Pont Vieux and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very helpful. The garden and roof terrace are awesome! Being such a short walk from the medieval city was great!
Cons: The rooms are relatively small and there’s no elevator.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a a real delight! We booked a room in the villa and were delighted to find that we were in the garden annexe - our own little pad, close to the main kitchen in the house. The room was fresh, beautifully decorated and laid out and scrupulously clean. Our host was charming and explained everything to us, including how we'd find breakfast in the morning (we were leaving early), how the gate and code worked, what to see in the city and which restaurants we should try. We were only here for one day / one night but it rounded our holiday off wonderfully. We felt comfortable, relaxed and very well looked after.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. A peaceful haven within easy walking distance of restaurants, the Citie, the river, the Canal du Midi, the New City. Juliette speaks perfect English and is full of really helpful information on where to eat, what to see etc. Our room was spacious with a view of the castle which was a bit surreal, especially at night. The room has a kettle and you can also make drinks in the dining room, plus buy wine by the bottle/glass on an honesty basis. There is secure off road parking.
Cons: There was very little to dislike. We had a few mosquitos (not the properties fault!). It would perhaps have been nice to have had some freshly chopped fruit at breakfast. Paying similar to an hotel the servicing and replenishing of the room could have been more consistent but I know Juliette would have supplied anything extra if we had asked for it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Villa Carcassonne is a little paradise. Modern and tastefully decorated (I think the photos make it look a bit old fashioned, which is absolutely not the case). Gardens similarly lovely and peaceful. Private carpark is very useful in Carcassonne! Super comfortable bed and bathroom, pool a bonus. Breakfast was also great, and Juliette is responsive and friendly. We have no hesitation recommending this property. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Fridge wasn't strong enough to chill our drinks in the middle of summer but probably fine the rest of the year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden room with private bathroom and outside seating was very private. With a very pretty room with comfortable bed and pillows. Adequate storage for clothes and personable items.
Cons: There was a bit of a problem with payment as no card machine and we weren't advised to take enough cash. It cost us an extra £5.50 to transfer the money online. This was quite stressful as my friends do nothing online.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The host, Juliette couldnt do enough for you. Very pleasant and fluent in many languages. The little pool area is beautiful and the beds are the most comfortable we've ever slept in away from our home. The location, just 5-10 minute walk inbetween the old and new city is perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet secluded location, with access to both the new & old town a short 10-15 min walk away. The maison itself is lovely, as was the room. We stayed in a room with a balcony and the view of the castle at night was incredible, especially during a lightning storm! The host Juliette was excellent, great communication and happy to offer advice and local recommendations if required.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens/grounds. Lots of character, very sympathetically renovated and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. We had two good meals in the restaurant next door and the breakfast in the hotel was excellent. The location was perfect for us, being a few miles out of Carcassonne but easy access to the centre via a local bus at only €2 return per person! We would certainly recommend this hotel.
Cons: We liked everything!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is very beautiful, and the staff made everything perfect. We had an excellent dinner at the property restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with well-appointed room, good outside space and a nice pool. Very nice breakfast.
Cons: We were a party of six and had booked and paid for six people. However, when we came to check out the hotel said we had only booked for four and had to pay a supplement. A phone call to booking.com resolved the situation, but beware if you are booking for a larger group. The owner's rather aggressive handling of the situation soured an otherwise very pleasant stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This beautifully restored chateau was the perfect spot for our stay. The welcome we received from Emma set the tone. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the pool provided much needed relief after a hot day at Carcassonne. Be sure to have dinner at the restaurant - one of our favourite meals in France. This really was a fabulous spot!

Cons: The room is a little small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic week at Hotel Bastide de St Martin. Isabelle and Alain were amazing hosts making our stay even better with their helpful tips and advice regarding restaurants and things to do in the area. Also they provided wine, beer, hot drinks and snacks during the day as there is no restaurant. Laura was also fantastic with local tips and advice and was extremely pleasant. The whole place was scrupulously clean (the staff were constantly cleaning) and the breakfast was excellent We are looking forward to returning next year.
Cons: The only criticism is the lack of a walk in shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have traveled to many places in the world, this hotel is among 3 best that we have ever stayed in.
Cons: Weather...?
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Wifi. Secondary systems not good. Should consider own system. Case rack would be useful.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Spacious room en suite
Cons: Free WiFi was useless...kept disconnecting. Breakfast was expensive especially given the cost of the room. The decor of the rooms was outdated and gothic. All rather soulless and not very comfortable.

Pros: Quiet location. Nice aspect from the room onto the gardens.
Cons: A bit away from the main activities and sights. But worth it for the tranquility.

Pros: Nice, quirky style of rooms. Breakfast was especially pleasant, including local specialties. The hosts were awesome, we also got a good recommendation for dinner in the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about Domaine de Marseillens. Serge and Muryiel were so welcoming and friendly it was a real home from home. We loved the location half way between the medieval city and Lake Cavayère although you may need a car if you don’t want to walk far. The hotel is a little bit different from the usual, individual and very French in character. We absolutely loved it.
Cons: Nothing at all, we liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just two mins drive from the walled city of Carcassone, this property is a little gem. The facilities are excellent with a lovely pool and sunbathing area; the rooms are very individually styled and comfortable, lots of stone and wood make this a really interesting place to stay. Serge and Muryel are absolutely lovely hosts serving a superb breakfast, they made us very welcome and we really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast choices served at large communal table. Muryel and Serge are good hosts who took the trouble to introduce us to fellow guests. The location is very quiet but only a few minutes from the walled town by car and on the same side of town as the large parking areas. Property is old and atmospheric.
Cons: Would have liked a full shower in the bathroom but there was a beautiful old bath with a very good hand shower so cant say we didn’t like it! That would just be icing on the cake!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here before, it was excellent then and still is.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful friendly staff who took the time to chat and remember guests. All restaurant recommendations in the town were excellent, a foodie heaven. Perfect for a 2 night stay. Relaxing surroundings, would love to come again and use pool in warmer months.
Cons: Room 235 is noisy. Car access to city means you are disturbed 5am to 10am and there is a road grate outside bedroom, clunk clunk with every vehicle - no sleep after 6am, Including rubbish collect around 6am. No afternoon nap either as cleaners access storage room and constantly let door slam, worst noise in afternoon 2-5. We told reception and they were understanding to look into it. Also main power and lights are connected so we couldn’t use charges overnight as the light would stay on, it made no sense and on first night we couldn’t get lights to turn off, we had to call reception at 5am to help us. Even the gentleman who attended us was confused but changed some plugs to solve temporarily. Nobody checked on us regarding this issue over next 2 days but we just moved around in dark at night. I would stay again but request garden view room. Loved castle and understand old and creaky - lots of character.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was super comfortable.
Cons: Light switch was oddly placed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in an amazing setting. The staff were very friendly and if you drive and need to park in their off-site, secure car park the porter who will take you and your bags becomes your personal tour guide for the cite on the way.
Cons: €9 for a bottle of beer in the bar seemed excessive to us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the service were superb.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: LIkes: Fabulous view of the City over the Walls Overall feel of the hotel Comfort of the pillows and bed Best location for staying in the Old City Terrific breakfast Complimentary castle tickets
Cons: Dislikes Car has to be at least 200+ yards from the hotel--no private auto access--they use a small van to take you to the hotel. The room we were in was quite small--the closet door backed up to another needed door--constant banging. Chair for the desk had arms--could not go under the desk--another small room issue Partial glass separator for shower in the bath does a lousy job of keeping water in the tub Needs more electrical outlets--especially around the desk area

Pros: Proximity to Le Cite, storage facilities for our bicycles www.cycling-holidays-in-france.com Canal du Midi Cycling Tour, Nice pool, secure car parking, but surface needs repairing
Cons: The décor was rather childish, the cost of the room was very expensive for the rooms allocated - I felt I paid a premium price and only got car park view not pool view, when I questioned manager on this I was told that better rooms are saved for Club Accor members! Bar area was small and not comfortable for socialising.

The swimming pool area was kept clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was great. The bedroom was clean and comfortable although a little cramped. The bathroom was spotless with a great shower.
Cons: Everything was fine - There was a street light at the side of the hotel near the swimming pool side which was not working - it would be better if that was fixed.

Pros: A perfect place to stay for a few days, very friendly welcoming host and excellent location for both the old and town and the town centre. Delighted that we chose to stay here whilst in Carcassone.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great central position in Carcassonne- and free parking!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The building is lovely and has stunning furniture for the type of building it is. Our room on the 2nd floor was quite large and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities were on offer and a mini bar/fridge provided - also an in room safe. There was a breakfast room and also a room to relax and read. We were greeted warmly and provided with a place to park the car and assisted with our luggage. Breakfast consisted of some cereal, juice, American style coffee, bread and ham and cheese and some fruit and boiled egg. We were advised of where we should sit. The location is easy walking distance to the old Cite Carcassonne and also the new city which is also lovely and needs time to explore.
Cons: The shower was terrible. Very low - you have to take the shower nozzle off and wash one handed. Being over bath and no curtain - water goes all over the floor and the water pressure is lacking. The window curtains however do nothing for ones privacy when in the shower and looking directly on to the road. Please improve this. The restrictions on times to check in and out (I was fully aware but it did become a bit of a hassle).
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a beautiful property with close proximity to the walled town. Great restaurants close by.
Cons: The location of the property is just off a major highway and was extremely noisy. Without wearing earplugs, we wouldn’t have been able to sleep.
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean rooms and excellent breakfast
Cons: Host met all the criteria of French hospitality

Pros: Great place to stay and within easy 5 minutes walking distance up to la cité and all local facilities. Brigitte and Henri jean are wonderful hosts and really make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast was lovely and served daily downstairs. Merci beaucoup pour une merveilleuse visite! :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: As well as the excellent location, we enjoyed the feeling the hosts were welcoming us into their home. They were very charming and tolerated our attempts at French (they speak some English), serving us a basic but decent breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the terrace room, amazing little room with the most incredible views! The host were lovely, very friendly.
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like we loved it!
7.5 Good
Pros: The only thing that was misleading was the picture on the site which showed an outdoor green area with the wall of the medieval cite beyond. I can't figure out where that picture was from. The place is on an old street and is an old building which was fine but was misleading in picture.
Cons: Nice hostesses and great location to medieval cite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brigitte 'n Henri are the joy -- the icing on the cake. Thank you. Home from home. Les Florentines is located in the best fun clean street; top restaurant right next door -- and more gourmet experience all around.
Cons: There is nothing not to like. We even had the joy of listening to glorious rain thru' the night. And of course warm 'n sunny all day. We Brits were welcomed by all and we pray that we cancel Brexit as we love y'all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly hosts. Good secure indoor parking nearby at small extra charge. Good bathroom facilities.
Cons: Staircase was very steep and hard to climb with large suitcases. Too much furniture in room - the 2 normal chairs could be removed as not required as there are 2 armchairs as well.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location. Clean. Dog friendly.
Cons: No parking available.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location to restaurants and sights, pleasant breakfast.
Cons: The room was cluttered and the bathroom tiny. In the bathroom there was no soap, even after asking for some, the exhaust fan did not work (and there was no window) and the door handle fell off. The first page of the booklet said "Welcome.......". Straight after that was a list of "do not do ......." The bed sheets were extremely thin and the long single pillow uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Had to pay cash

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent as is the restaurant across the road!! Why don’t they recommend it??
Cons: The staff at the front desk were not very friendly! I was reminded how crowded and touristy the Carcassonne fort is!
10.0 Excellent

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful & breakfast was great. The hotel is by the citadel walls, so it’s a short walk to the old town.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location to everything. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were fabulous. accommodating all our needs. We had a view to the Cité.
Cons: The rooms are quite small, however for a short stopover it’s absolutely fine. I would have liked a kettle in the room for a cup of tea. Not a biggie tho.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice design features, great location
Cons: Tiny room, tiny bathroom
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, clean, modern place. Excellent room, comfortable bed, loved the wetroom. Good variety at breakfast. I had a fantastic view of the walled town from my bed.
Cons: No lift, which meant several trips via the stairs for my old dog. It is not usual for non-UK places to have tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, I know. All the same, an evening cup of tea would have been very much appreciated!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the castle. Good location. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. A very enjoyable stay thank you!
Cons: It was all fine
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was fantastic, the staff very friendly an helpfull, and we could actually park in front of the hotel. Everything clean and well maintained, and the common facilities were just fine.
Cons: The room wasn't small, it was tiny. The room size in square meters on booking.com must have included the tiny bathroom and the tiny shower, because there wasn't room to swing a cat. When one of us was showering and changing, the other either had to stay in his/her bed or leave the room. As all the hotel's rooms are the same size, I cannot recommend it to big people, especially if they're also elderly, or handicapped persons. We had booked two nights but - also having had our fill of Carcassonne - chose to leave in the afternoon of the second day. We have no complaints over paying for both nights - cutting the stay short was our choice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I could benefit cost effective from a place is within 10 minutes walk from old town and my room, though small, had view of the citadel, as ordered. staff was very friendly and willing to help and have good advise on parking near hotel (hotel had it's private parking but places available also on street nearby) and dinner in town at late hour. stay was very pleasant.
Cons: room was small but still comfortable (and with nice citadel view !!!)
7.1 Good
Pros: In France, the coffee should always be good. Here it was so awful we only did breakfast one day. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are awkward. The location is great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable modern hotel, a stone's throw from the old citadel walls. Friendly helpful staff. Reasonable value for money.
Cons: Room was on the small side, but not a deal breaker.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff member on the desk for our stay. Very friendly and could not have more helpful
Cons: Nothing

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Total lack of interest by staff. Middle aged women who should have known better
7.1 Good
Pros: It was very close to the castle and in the low season was 38€ a night. That is exactly how much it's worth. Happy
Cons: Very basic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location just below the walls of the Cité. We had a large 1- bedroom apartment that would have been great for a longer stay, though we only stayed one night.
Cons: The bathroom was a little old and could use some refreshing.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Near the old city.
Cons: Unattractive barrack -like building. Basic room, light not working near bed, cupboard door falling off. Stark and unwelcoming. More like a hostel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location, inexpensive
Cons: Not very well equipped, especially as it is advertised as an appartment for 4.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This place is just a stones throw away from anything you could possibly want to be near! For this and the price alone, I'd more than recommend. The staff were excellent and even offered to store our heavy bags for us outside of check-in hours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really great. The location was fantastic - a 2 minute walk to the castle. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The rooms could do with a bit of an update. There was no soap left in our bathroom.
