Pros: The hosts are very welcoming and speak multiple languages fluently. We received great advice on what to do and where to go around Carcassonne and some great history of the area. (While being served wine and infused water). The location is peaceful and is fantastic. You can walk to the walled Cité de Carcassone if you want to. The swimming pool is a nice escape from the summer heat! Breakfast was amazing And included fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, breads and preserves, and eggs and sliced meats and cheeses.

We loved the location half way between the medieval city and Lake Cavayère although you may need a car if you don’t want to walk far. The hotel is a little bit different from the usual, individual and very French in character. We absolutely loved it.

This is one of those rare B&B’s we will keep in mind and recommend to family and friends!!!

The facilities are excellent with a lovely pool and sunbathing area; the rooms are very individually styled and comfortable, lots of stone and wood make this a really interesting place to stay. Serge and Muryel are absolutely lovely hosts serving a superb breakfast, they made us very welcome and we really enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Not a lot actually. Sandra did her best to welcome us but the atmosphere was both stifling and somewhat spartan. The only positive for us was the secure parking and the distance to the old city of Carcassonne.
Cons: Someone there to meet and greet us instead of a great closed door! We arrived in the middle of the reception times so there was no reason for someone not to be there. The place was cold, the sheets felt damp, there was not even a little carpet in the bedroom and the décor did not match the antique furniture. We felt ill at ease and we never even saw the owner! Sandra seemed afraid to disobey her boss rather give us what we asked for (a kettle of BOILING water for our morning tea). we were glad to leave in spite of Sandra's efforts but chambres d'hôte should be exactly tht - siomewhere that conveys the convivality of thehost. Sorry, but it didn't do that.

Our room was fantastic and absolutely enormous, overlooking the small courtyard garden where we ate breakfast. Our en-suite had ample space and a huge shower. Breakfast was a picture perfect continental spread and absolutely delicious. Catherine, our host communicated with us en route to ensure she was there to meet us when we arrived. The whole stay was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Carcassonne.

Pros: The location was excellent - quiet and rural but just a walk from the old city of Carcassonne. The room and bathroom were a little quirky and dated, but comfortable. The highlight was undoubtedly the breakfasts which were outstanding, with a huge range of high quality home prepared food.

Pros: Everything was perfect, we felt really welcome and at home here, it was so relaxing just what we needed. The house itself is charming, tucked away in the countryside ,it's packed with rustic features and objects a feast for the eyes. Homemade food is tasty and plentiful, breakfast is a bounty of , croissants, breads, cheeses, fruit tarts and cakes and that's just the vegetarian options , Delphine the host prepared fresh salad for us every morning even though there was already enough for us to choose from. Looking out across the fields of vines and wild poppies you can see the Medieval City which is just a few minutes drive away The pool was refreshing with plenty of sunbeds and tables and chairs , there were more secluded areas of the garden equipped with seating which afforded the opportunity to watch the sunset over the Fortress. We had a fantastic stay here and are looking forward to returning.

Pros: Nice location overlooking Cité of Carcassonne within walking distance. Excellent breakfast buffet with a choice of cold cuts, cheeses, breads, cereals, homemade pastries and jams, fresh fruit etc.
Cons: Toilet inside the bedroom but with no separation door. Some property organisation and rules prevented us from feeling at home.

Pros: The location was very rural , picturesque and quiet. It was a really authentic french rural experience and the breakfast was homemade.
Cons: The pool was unheated so too cold to use and the bathroom was almost too small to use with a door that didn’t close , affording no privacy. The smoke from other guests wafted up into the room from the area below. There was no microwave etc even though it was on the site.

Pros: the breakfast(s) were perfect with deliciously perfumed crepes/brownies/cakes/fresh fruit salad/gorgeous bread and butter/cheese/orange juice/coffee/tea/fried eggs/ham/brioche - all homemade by the beautiful and friendly bridgette and her husband Rolland - who came to my rescue when I cut my finger - betadine, plaster etc etc... what more could you want? Nothing too much trouble for this lovely couple. My daughter and I loved the beautifully ironed sheets and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Also thankyou for making our bed every day - did not expect it. The pool was great and we loved it.

There was a problem with the water pressure throughout Carcassonne on the day we arrived, we were upgraded to another larger room at nom extra cost. We had sole use of the pool and Bridgitte told us there was no restriction as to when we could use it, as long as we were respectful of others. The hosts encourage you to treat it as home and you can come and go as you please. There was a good continental breakfast included every day and there was always a little treat,something different each day, home made by Bridgitte

Cons: There was nothing to dislike. The only reflection we would make (and this does not reflect on the hosts) is that the neighbour's trees shut out the sun onto the pool after 4.30pm. If they could ask them off about 4m the pool time could extend roughly by 2 hours. WE WOULD COME AGAIN ANYWAY!!

Cons: We were on foot and expected to have some restaurants in the area, unfortunately there isn't much, to reach the closest places you must walk quite a lot and cross the motorway, which is not so safe. There's a bus service to get into town which is cheap (1 euro) but the service usually finishes around 7pm and is often behind the timetable.
