Pros: The breakfast was truly amazing excellent selection and alot of home made items which were delicious

Pros: We stayed 1 night, would definitely recommend and would stay again when next in Canterbury. Room and bathroom was modern and tastefully decorated. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lovely touches of water and fresh milk in the fridge, teacakes and mint, nespresso machine and variety of teas in the room. Breakfast was fabulous, great selection, homemade items and freshly cooked. Paul and Heidi were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Pros: The owners were friendly & had paid attention to detail in the B&B. It was lovely to have fresh milk in a small fridge in my room, along with a coffee machine. Good choice of breakfast. The room & bathroom had been refurbished to a good standard. Location was within reasonable walking distance of Canterbury City centre.

Pros: Hotel like quality. Excellent room with first class facilities. Brilliant location with a quick easy walk to the city centre. Fantastic hosts.

Pros: Good location, easy to find, parking and a pleasant walk into the city. Friendly welcoming hosts. Comfortable room and very good breakfasts. Definitely lived up to its positive reviews and have no hesitation in recommending.

Cons: Nothing really - if I have to say something a cafetiere for coffee with breakfast would be better than the machine!

Pros: Great location. The hotel does not have parkibg facilities but you can park in the public car park for £6 for 24 hours. Good value for money in the heart of Canterbury. There's a good choice for breakfast. The poached egg and advocado was excellent.

Cons: There was nothing to fault the hotel at all.

Pros: Great location, just a short walk from the city centre and theatre...car park nearby which we were able to pay for 24hrs in advance at the hotel.

Cons: There was no fridge in the room, so drinks could not be kept cold in warm weather.

Pros: This place is fantastic, and for a short trip to Canterbury, you really can't go wrong with it. I was expecting more dated facilities, but our room was actually quite modern and nicely done (with a nice hot shower). I was also worried about the location as it is slightly outside of the main strip. It turns out, it is right near the river which is very pretty, and the walk to the main street with all the shops, bars and restaurants is pleasant and doesn't take very long. Lastly, the pub on the ground floor of the hotel is fantastic and was nice to stop in there after a day of visiting Canterbury. The staff were all lovely, and all in all, I would highly recommend this place, and would stay again.

Cons: Avoid from room 12!!! Even if it is not a street facing room, but it's above the pub's garden area, which was very noisy on Fri and Sat evening till late night. This room has a horrible toilet... almost impossible to flush ANYTHING..... The water pressure is really low as well. The stuff's room and the linen room were next and in front of this room's door and therefore the door almost always was blocked by linens and other stuffs, also was noisy (slamming doors) as well. The portion of the breakfast is not huge and it's not buffet style.. you can choose only one thing from the menu. I had to ask some toasts because normally you don't get any, but at least it was free of charge.

Pros: Staff were so friendly and helpful. Location was ideal as it was away from the busy areas but was only a 5 minutes walk to the city centre. Bed was exceptionally big (we didn't request). Beautiful surroundings.

Cons: Only minor thing was the pub is the inn is next to the river. Did not bother me or my girlfriend and we slept fine. On a hot day when you need to open windows, the noise could be a small problem. But it was not that bad.

Pros: The manager and staff very friendly the cooked breakfast was good car parking worked out very well The whole atmosphere was warm and friendly

Cons: We were positioned at the front of the property and although a great street view of the main square, the noise at night was terrible! Hardly had any sleep due to drunks and a 6.00am roadsweeper!

Pros: Lovely hotel very central to all the sites and restaurants. Advanced email on parking made it easy to get there. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: My only comment is that the rooms at the front do suffer from some noise from the street.

Pros: The hotel is about two doors from the Canterbury Cathedral entrance gate and right off a square with plenty of shopping and nightlife. Staff are very kind and breakfast is good.

Cons: They do not have air conditioner which is only a problem if the temp is 91.0 F (as it was when I stayed). Also, no elevator. Not a problem for me, but means I can't take my elderly mom there.

Pros: The croissants were lovely.

Pros: It's oldy weldy. And it's kept all its caractor.all through.even through some modern decor it's stil got the old fringes to the hotel.

Pros: The location of the hotel is superb as is very easy to get out of Canterbury to the NE Kent coast as we'd planned. It is about a 12 min walk into the centre of Canterbury too. The brass handrail up the steps to the main entrance was beautifully polished. Great attention to detail so sadly lacking in most places I've stayed this last year or so. Upon booking-in, Elliot greeted us in a very friendly and helpful manner. In fact he, Simon and the rest of the team there were very attentive, professional and friendly throughout. The standard double room (Room 8) is large and very comfortable though the bathroom is a little cramped whilst being perfectly serviceable. A full, cooked breakfast is produced to order whilst one decides what cereal and or fresh fruit to have as a starter. Toast served at the end is great, just as requested.

Cons: The main hotel signage (that is gold lettering on a red background) is actually set back a little too far from the road and too close to the high hedge on one side making it impossible to see it (by car) until you have virtually passed it! Elliot will have something done about this this week. There are limited sockets available for the night tray kettle though so care has to be taken as the only available one is close to a metal shaded light on the desk. Although I like Viennese Whirls two packs daily in the night tray was a bit much. Some variety is needed. The WC cistern was very slow to fill and didn't always clear when flushing. Elliot has a plumber coming later this week for this and other plumbing issues. There had been a leak on a pump within the wardrobe a week or more ago that although there had been a dehumidifier in operation for a few days still had a dampness smell about it. We left the wardrobe double doors and window open daily when we went out for the day but upon returning to the room found them all closed up by the house staff.

Cons: Toilet broke but was attended to quickly. Water pressure for shower was very poor in the family room.

Pros: The hotel is located in a very pleasant area and there is good parking available at the hotel. The breakfast was freshly cooked and good. The staff were very helpful, polite, and friendly.

Cons: The single room was small and felt cramped. Likewise the bathroom was small, although very well presented. The hotel is "dog friendly" and some of the other guests had a dog (a regular dog not a guide dog) which did bark at one point during the evening. They also brought the dog with them to the restaurant during breakfast, during which time I should note that the dog was well behaved. It's a matter of choice, if you have a dog and wish to travel with the dog then this is clearly a plus, but if you don't have a dog then it was a surprise.
